Tanking own BHs

Now I've read in several guides that all barbs should be able to tank their own BH's, I'm level 56 and honestly don't think I could tank bh39? My gear is kinda below average I don't have the coins nor the real cash to do something about it - so am I really that bad?

    the only things you need to tank BH39

    max flesh ream,
    Tiger form as max as possible..
    Shapeshifting as max as possible..

    go into tiger form.. and start flesh reaming..
    just tanking only the boss you should do fine.

    if your cleric is not as good, you might need to have pot,mantou,Top, 2nd wind on standby..

    if it is really that bad.. get a bm to give you the armor buff

    hint, if you really have very bad armor.. get the 300 rep gear from archosaur... i am still using the armor @ my level :x

    Thanks for the tips but may I ask, why use the 300 rep armour when it has 100 less in physical resistance in comparison to the lvl 50-60 npc armour?

    Barbs are built so they can tank their own fbs, and so should be able to tank their bhs with ease.

    Im sry to say but if you cant tank 39 at lvl 56 it is epic fail by either you, cleric or both.
    (I mean cant tank as in you dying, not as in cant hold aggro)

    Stop leveling and farm some herb or something to get coin for better armor/tanking skills.

    you dont need goodly gear, anything not npc with ok stats will do. This should be really cheap.

    I'm not saying that I've died or anything - I've just never had a chance to try it, and especially with a cleric - just everytime I've been I've been told to stay back while my high level friends take me through. And I'm worried about magic damage.

    well, i can tank it using 300 rep gear... its not possible that you cant with npc armor :p
    dont worry about it.. you just have to try

    You should be able to tank your own BHs and your own FBs, if there's a competent cleric nearby.

    shoot... you can tank your own fb with NPC gear even. 2star, 3star, legendary, and TT gear aren't requirements for tanking by any means. they only give you a slight advantage in the form of additional bonuses and maybe 5 to 10 (at most) percent better defenses.

    if you cant afford better gear (yet) at least carry around 2 sets of ornaments.. 1 physical defense, the other magical defense. IIRC Trioc is magical only, so having the extra Mdef will help a lot there.

    other than that, what do your toons stats look like?

    My attack is only 900-1200 looks like your gear is better then mine.

    Oh and use your rage!
    (takes 2000 magic damage) saved me from Mages more then once.

    Either tell your friend you wish to tank or start a BH squad with a cleric you trust and tell the other party members that you're new to tanking.

    Feels great to tank your own bosses hope you get that little rush I get.

    o.o Urgh. Have you tried? Um, my bm was tanking that bh & I was wearing npc armour 10-20 lvls below o.O

    i have a barb, cleric, veno, and other alts on HT.

    if you want to try tanking something for the first time, let me know. i can come along and help you give it a shot.

    You could tank my Veno's BHs anytime. She's a 5x and I'll trust ya to tank.

    Like it was said earlier in the thread, if you don't try it, you'll never learn to trust in your gear and your abilities. You've watched the higher levels do it...now give it a shot. And get back to us.

    I wouldn't worry too much about it. What I do when I have some free time on my hands, is try to test my limits. Go see what you can kill solo and don't worry about some exp loss. A couple percent is easy to gain back. I like to go challenge myself and see what I can do and just go for it. Maybe I'm just crazy but it works for me. If all else fails, just farm and put leveling aside and make yourself some coin.
