PWI becoming P2P?

So I heard from a friend of mine who has /knowledge/ of what goes in PW-CN, that they are becoming P2P.
So just asking, since apparently everything that goes on in PW-CN must be done here..will PWI become P2P?
No..this isn't a troll. I myself have no knowledge of whether or not this is true but it would be nice to have some things said here to see if this is true.

They're just make it harder for you to play for free. They make far more money doing this than actually being subscription based, because once they can get to trained to charge some money, you'll end up spending more and more and more.
Everything has been geared towards making the game more difficult for the free players and giving the most benefits to those willing to pay.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

TBH the trend is going the other way in alot of MMO's. P2P games are becoming F2P with CS's . The famous 80's roleplaying game and the book by J.R.R Tolkien MMO's spring to mind as Two tht switched to F2P from P2P.
But hey as we all know there is no telling with PW-CN/PWI following logic .[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
PW was originally a p2p - that business model wasnt working for the original owners. PWE got the game, made it f2p and has never looked back - the success of PW f2p business model has let them release many other games in similar molds to appeal to slightly different markets but all with the same basic theme, free play + cash shop extras[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

^I couldn't of said any better and PWE is the leader in this trend.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0

Actually, the original game was P2P when it was released in 2005. They made PW2 in 2006 that was F2P. It was brought here two years ago so PWE didn't convert it to F2P.100% F2P player. Started PW: March 2007, Quit PW: March 2011.

At least it's not p2p with a cash shop. Just beyond ****.0

lots of players spend hundreds of dollars a month; making this game p2p (with a standard 15 bucks per month) will get rid of every player that play for free (majority) and drastically reduce their income from those that spend lots of dollars.
imagine the consequences... this game isnt popular enough to have many active players and those new changes actually reduce the amount of actual number of players imo. some of the active players still play more than one char when they get bored, probably on other account. so many things to think about... then imagine no more packs or packs for everyone since its not required to spend RL money. uh they could go p2p and CS, that would be the ultimate fail0 -
Any little change in the game is criticized and whined about. For a while, someone could make a modest living selling in game coin for RL cash. They raised the coin to gold ratio BUT they also added a lot of free / easy to acquire equips. They brought down the prices of molds, and made it harder for multi-boxers to solo the highly profitable instances. Those changes were all necessary for the survival of PWI yet too many refuse to adapt.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0

You think people would still play PWI if it was P2P after the recent patches?0

this is the most nonsense post ever seen i think lol0

She was just asking a question *facepalms*.0

There are a lot of people who doesn't cash shop. There is also those who cash shop somtimes, but very little. If they only spend none or little money when it's f2p, why would they start paying if this game become p2p?*Semi retired*0

dunno about if it go p2p..
but rly. I would rather pay 15 usd a month and then remove cashshop completely, make d.orbs farmable from x thingy, charms whatever..
but pw been F2p for long to just convert, would lose alot of the 100% free players.
so going p2p would kill pw atm.. so yeah hope stay f2p lol.I'm sorry for misspelling / mistyping and grammar b:surrender

Normally a p2p game is 'fair', has class balance and finished content. PW doesnt qualify for any of that. The only reason ppl waste money here is cuz they want to play a game in which they can get ahead of everyone else without the slightest effort. If PW became p2p, only cash shoppers would stay behind and in less than a month this would become a ghost town.PWI:

I would challenge the idea of P2Ps being fair anymore with all the rampant RMT and botting/hacking on the present enviroment. One of the things i like about PW best is you don't get any spam from gold farmers nor do you get to see any botting (which probably does exist but is rare) which really does ruin games.
This game is too aged to compete as a P2P however, you'd be down to 1-2 servers in the best case scenario and they probably wouldn't last longer than a few months...0 -
There are better P2P MMORPGs out there. PWI wouldn't stand a chance in the P2P market with the current GM feedback and dev response.0

PW came first (P2P), then PWI, now they are upgrading PW, I would think that just means PWI will get an upgrade soon too. Besides level cap increased to 120, there are also new skills (lvl 100+) just been released for every class. If I read the promo correctly, they all drop in a new dungeon.0

Seriously... if you hate this game so much, why not find a new one? Every post I see from you is negative.
Anyway, I highly doubt PWI would actually go P2P unless they charge a minimum of about 50$ a month from players or keep the cashshop (which would be stupid). Otherwise, they would lose out on A LOT of money.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Was the original Perfect World even published by PWE when it was P2P? I was under the impression that PWE was formed after buying the rights to it and hiring the development team on contract for a specific amount of time, after which they left... shortly after Age of Spirits was released...
... then again I could be getting my story wrong. b:surrenderI post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

Pay to play version is still live http://world2.wanmei.com
Version we are based off of http://w2i.wanmei.com
And PWE is a wholly owned subsidiary of PW-Beijing so we get everything they get no matter how stupid it is...
PWI was launched shortly after they released the free to play one in china0 -

Go read some more then. I just said this game will not get people if it was P2P as other competitors are way better. I play it because it's F2P. Now go rage somewhere else.0 -

I'm not raging. I was simply saying if you hate the game a lot (due from you stating that the GM's do basically **** around here... I agree with you on the Dev's part.) go play a different one. You got to understand the ratio of us to GM's/Mods is very outnumbered and just because we can find thousands of things wrong with the game does not mean they can get to us within 2 minutes and fix the issue.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The GM feedback is one of the worst I've seen. Not even comparing to P2P games.0

4 weeks =/= 2 weeks as Frankie said. Even 5 year olds can tell me that 4 =/= 20

i hope not, this is like the best f2p mmo ive ever played. The quests are fun, the QQ is fun, and the graphics totally don't destroy my vision.AP classes are a real butt pounding...0
