you can interupt magic attack from monsters with it.(player magic to)
just try to use it when a boss is charging a magic attack ,and if you fail, try again till you get the timing right.
you also can count ,like how many regular attack your opponont uses,
so when a boss uses magic after 5 normal hits, use alacrity of the beast0 -
If you need help cancelling, have a genie with lvl 10 Earthquake. Its great for those you want to cancel magic attacks, and great to have if you know for sure you mis-timed Alacrity.
Think of it as....training wheels. :P[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong here.
90% of monsters magic attacks are every ~10 seconds from the moment you aggro it. So count to 10 (I know it's hard I see people ask for how many in count the apples xD). Another way is to leave alacrity at lvl 7 or 8 until u get the hang of cancelling. The cool down time of it, if u time your 1st alacrity with it's magic attack, matches with when the monster uses it's next attack.
Monsters' magic attacks create an animation around their feet, and takes a second or 2 to cast if u didn't know.
Hope it helped.0 -
read the OP in this thread: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=841142
his method mentioned for using Alacrity of the Beast is something I never thought about before, but it works really well. Most bosses I don't use that method on personally (I just watch the cool down on level 8 alacrity of the beast usually). However, Polearm and Guarnob seem to have a much shorter channel time than most bosses, so I miss them a lot using my normal method. I tried the method mentioned in above thread and things went MUCH smoother canceling those two.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Alacrity of beast
while every other tiger skill you will eventually max many people say to stop this skill at lvl 7 or 8
this is becuase it make most monster's skill cooldown is the same time are your skill cooldown at 7-8 seconds
HOWEVER....
i disagree, i max this skill, and here are my reasons:
first of all, becuase the cooldown is the same as the monster's cooldown u need to use the skill right when it becomes available. which sometimes can be too slow due to lag or u having clicked another skill right beforehand
second: assuming u used the skill but was too late on the cancel u would need to skip the next cancel becuase your cooldown would overlap when u were supposed to cancel it. so in the long run u miss 2 cancels in a row
Maxing this skill shorten ur cooldown to less than the enemies and allowing for a cancel which u were too late on to be cooled down in time for u to make the next cancel.
Maxing this skill does more damage
When fighting mobs alone. sometimes u make the killing blow with or right after a skill cancel with alacrity.
maxing this skill will allow u to attack the next mob (which starts with a skill) faster (orchid petails for example) without having to wait as long for a cooldown.
Yes, maxing this skill will give you the neigh impossible task of counting so such exceedingly high numbers as 1 or 2 in your head before you use it again in order to make the next cancel. But I feel that i add this in case there are few people out their who's mental capacity is high enough to accomplish such a herculean task.Killing level 80's with a lvl 60 is a lot more fun than killing level 90's with a level 100.0 -
No need for all the sass Furries. State your point and move along.0

i copied and pasted that from my guide.. which isnt working properly now for some reason.. like 75% of the main post got cut off when i tried to update it. and even spreading it into different posts isnt working.. i have yet to get a responce as to why this is happening
it alwasy cuts off at the same point no matter how far down i start, so it donest look like a max char limit to meKilling level 80's with a lvl 60 is a lot more fun than killing level 90's with a level 100.0 -
^try posting it without symbols. the forum doesnt like certain symbols.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Pretty much this.
I've my Alacrity maxed to 10 for now, and plan on getting the sage book sometime in the future for the added damage (every time I see one for sell I'm too broke to buy it QQ).
It's extremely useful for me to have it maxed as the TT boss I solo farm doesn't start channeling his mag attack until Alacrity's fully cooled down. The other bosses that I deal with, I can just count a little to time it right. Some people risk to employ me
Some people live to destroy me
Either way they die0 -
Thanks for the answers , the problem is , there is some boss who doesn't cast their AoE skills so i don't know when to use Alacrity of the beast0

^some bosses dont have a channeling animation. For those, you have to learn their pattern. As mentioned, its normally 4-5 normal attacks between "special attacks". So, start your fight off with Alacrity of the beast to cancel the first special attack, then count the number of normal attacks that occur during cool down of alacrity. Maybe skip the next cancel if its a boss you haven't done yet so that you will know exactly how many normal attacks there are between special attacks.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
