    If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

    just for clarification, if upon analysis of the content of what you say, one finds it is reasonable to disregard it, how does that make that person a fool?

    that implies a claim of infallibility, which in turn makes you a person claiming to be infallible. which is completely foolish.

    therefore disregarding what a foolish person says, because of the content of what they say would seem to make someone reasonable, and not foolish.

    But the two reasons I had there are both unreasonable. One is downright ad hominem, the other is just because it's not in agreement with you.

    Of course, I could've written it as "If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said aren't what you want them to be, you're a fool", but it just gets messy there.
