Hey. Will there be a new PWI expansion in the future? Does anyone know? Maybe other PW versions already have or something... :o Or will PWI be abandoned (forsaken lol!) once Forsaken World comes out? o.o

probably a bit of both, it would be dumb to close PWI down just because a updated version of the entire game is released.

They will keep PWI running as long as they are making money off it, expect some server merges after FW is released though, as server populations will suffer heavily.

The more games PWI has running at once, the better for them.

Yes, expect an expansion preview in a month or two I would assume, and something to be released about November/December-ish.

Probably the new races and the 10 man party expansion.

There will likely be some expansion on the level of the Lost Empire or Age of Spirits around spring. Wether we will once again get something on the scale of Raging Tide remains to be seen, there's likely to be something of the kind in the works, my guess being revenue for the first half of 2011 will become the deciding factor. With the second aniversary tying in to the holiday season i think it unlikely will get much in the way of news until next year, or at least much of something other than hype... As usual we'll have to rely on what info some of our players are able to obtain from the Chinese version.

Kind of agree with this. Have you noticed why the dungeons have got so much harder? And now you have to feel guilty for crying so muchb:sad 10 man squad with 2 new races would be just brilliant after the Tideborn didn't come out that long ago... It would be fun playing hard dungeons using your brain a bit more... Anyway of course new server comes with it of course! After they have merged 1 or 2 of the existing servers...

    Nightspike they were called?

I don't really remember, they were mentioned as being the mortal enemies of the Tideborn in a few quests.

New races? I can believe so.

Nightspike? I'd be surprised if they are. The Nightspike are already in the game as monsters. Just look all around the TB city and you'll see them. They aren't necessarily all named Nightspike something or other but they're there. They also renamed Mantavip into Nigthspike something or other to better serve this purpose.

    Just my two cents.

This is one change I still dislike, even though it's purely cosmetic and has no real effect on anything.

New Mantavip can kiss my ***. b:angry

    Really, two more races??

Adding more to your squad sure, but does the game really need two more races??

It will be interesting to see how that works out. I have a feeling that this new race will balance the PvP ability of the SIN.

The races don't bother me,unless they don't have undead races such as necromancers/vampires [no twilight ****!!!].

    And 10 guys/girls in a squad is awesome b:victory

If there are new races, wouldn't they be the monk/wraith angel combo that are in the files already?

not that it matters, really. 10 man squads would be great, though.

I'd imagine we'd probably go back to having 2 clerics in squads again whenever we get that. Also, I'd say it's very probable that there will limits on the amount of people in a squad for certain instances.

    That seems pretty accurate lol

Dont know many players above 99+ that will ever invest time/money in one of PWE's games ever again.

Maybe the combo of wiz/py in party would be good enough as a secondary healer. I know I have on more that one occasion played healer while the ep was running back. 10% chance to full heal ftw <3 you sutra heal.

Okay, I've seen materials on the 10-man squad thing. But new races? Could someone kindly point me toward the screenshots and/or translations that prove this?

And I'm sorry, it better not be the damned Nightspike. The "Nightspike" are easily the most grievous in a long history of generic name-changes in PWI, which I like to refer to as "Localization Fail"s (see also: Great Cyclone --> Whirlwind... Soon, the Light --> Chromatic Healing Beam... Elven Radiance --> Glory).

What exactly was wrong with "Mantavip Scout?" I just wish I could understand the motivations behind these "localizations," because from PW-MY to PWI, all I can tell is that they're deliberately changing every name that they can for no other reason than to be "different."

But even that would be tolerable if the person behind these name changes could show a little creativity. They were naming an entire species of enemies (and significant plot devices) of the Tideborn. But the name they came up with sounds like it was five minutes until lunch break and someone just said "Eh, let's go with 'Nightspike.' That sounds nice and unambiguously evil!"

Sorry, I'm done ranting. What I'm trying to say is, they can come up with much better races than the "Nightspike" (especially considering you're expected to kill them in-game).

An "anti-Sin' would be great. However, I don't see what other class archetypes are there to add to the game? We have a healer, an archer, a tank, a debuffer/pet master, a flexible melee off-tank/DD, DPH mage, DPS mage, and a rogue/ninja...
What else is there to add?

But it is as old as the game itself, and nothing more has been released so far... Oh and some old necromantic race information, but that is "still to be found"...

So the rumour has it yes .

Now alot of people have spent loads of $ making PvP OP sins one of the new races will be an Anti sin class.

Would have been bad business to do it at the same time when the sins were released.

A Paladin I can see. But a Necromancer? No, it's just a glorified pet class.

Give a skill-spamming BM a sword and you already have a Spellsword, lol

That looks more like it was originally going to be a class, but it got taken out.

Every game I've played has had hidden classes somewhere in the game files that were going to be classes but got taken out before the game was released.

Something like this? (the hidden and/or abandoned Guild HQ map/feature, which is a promised feature for Forsaken World now)

Not necessarily. I'm part of an RP where we have necromancers and such. The GM and I eventually changed the class a bit so that it no longer summoned the dead, but instead sacrificed their own health and vitality to nuke the hell out of stuff and cause near-instant death.

This translated to basically every necromancy spell requiring a blood sacrifice which would probably translate to consuming HP in a game like this. However, for such a class to be viable, they'd probably have to have tank-like HP or a skill to make damage hit their MP instead of their HP (their skills would still consume HP, of course). Or a buddy cleric. XD
