I ve been reading about this skill and the general perception is that its not that useful coz
the Increase of evasion is worthless against range attacks,
Evasion only increases the chances of your enemy missing you, it doesn't grantee anything

however i noticed that it gives an increase in speed for 1 min/lev
inst that it self very useful ?
also does it increase the attack speed?
and does it increase the flying speed?

It increases movement speed. Since your flying speed in +[wing speed] on your ground movement speed, yes it increases your flying speed.

The evasion is some-what useful, but I mainly use it to buff my squad in dungeons for the additional movement speed.

And no, it doesn't increase attack speed.

Wings of protection does not increase flying speed. The speed increase would be nicer if people didn't discard it every 10s to cast holy path, cloud sprint, demon fox form, etc.

Since your flying speed is based on your ground moving speed, shouldn't WoP increase the flying speed?

Flying speed is based on your 'base' walking speed, so speed increase skills have no effect on flying speed.

Does gear that increases your walking speed increase your flying speed?

Hmm i dont think so, Since gears dont inc the base speed..

Anyways I think it would be better to keep it at a low level, something like lev 3/4 ? Or should i just keep it at lev 2 as i have right now?

p.s Just to re correct my original post "the skill increases the chances to evade Melee attacks only.

Flying speed is not based on ground speed at all.

It is based on your base flying speed which is equal to a constant 5m/s for all classes.

"the skill increases the chances to evade Melee attacks only".

What? where does it say it? melee miss and ranged also miss. Archer miss on me and they are ranged. What i think you mean is that magic doesnt miss which its true but any physical attack can miss, ranged or melee.

FML about 8k accurancy and i still miss on pure mag arcanes whit 300 evasion...b:surrender

There are gears that increase your base ground movement speed. Capes and Boots are the main equipments that can have speed modifiers [with the exception of certain Legendary Molds]

Always keep Buffs maxed. Everyone loves speed buffs [especially my Demon WoP]

    A personal observation :

If it's a buff - always max it. Am I right ? I have an archer and I`ll surely max Wings of Protection.

Max it, sure... but don't prioritize it.

It's great for the move speed (even though you'll most likely overwrite it 20 seconds later with holy path) and the evasion is handy for pre-7X PK against phys classes since most have low dex and no misties at that point in time.

Aside from that, though, it's not really all that useful outside of building chi. Now if evasion didn't suck so bad, that might be different but....

I believe that individual meant "physical", not "melee / close combat only".

The Evasion buff isn't that bad. You can rack up 3-4K evade by level 70 easily. Had AoEs from TT bosses miss me quite a bit (think I got like a 20-25% chance to evade them with Wings of protection on). Kinda funny seeing AoEs go "Miss, Miss, Miss".

Not sure about PvP, but in PvE evasion does help a fair bit against Phys attacks.

Ahh now i understand. Thank you all for your replies. It was a great help. Guess ill have to rethink my strategy with respect to this skill.

So i guess the best advice would be to Level it up when you have extra skill points left ?
