Hey they're, im fairly new to the game, been playing lil over a week now or so. This whole genie concept has me confused. I understand that they are there to provide you with support and aid you in what ever your doing blah blah blah. Im the type of person when I play a game, I want to do it the right way, and the best way. So my question is, How should i spend my affinity points / regular points ( IE vit mag dex ect ) and what skills should I pick up. I have looked all over and could not find exactly what I am looking for, thanks in advanced.

Depends on what you're trying to do. For me, 50 vit and magic, rest split between str and dex for skills.

Skills I have: Earthflame, Holy path, Cloud eruption, Rainbow Blessing, and Earthquake.

Need 7 earth affinity, 5 metal, 2 of everything else to get all these skills.

Genies are a fun addition to the game and can be very useful. I would strongly advise you get Second Wind and Holy Path as soon as you can. Holy Path seems useless perhaps as it's such a short burst of speed, but later on, when you get it to level 10, if you have 150 energy points (vit gives you extra energy), you can use it twice in a row. The place where HP is mostly used is in FCC (Frostcovered City) where people go to level through the 80s and 90s.

Second Wind is, as the name implies and as the description tells you, another heal (you can get this or Tree of Protection). You may think why would a cleric need another heal with so many already at his/her disposal. I'll tell you now, SW has saved my life on many occasions, as you can use it while running from mobs without stopping to self heal, and your HP pots are in cooldown.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but genies are awarded Lucky Points every 10 levels. You can get an extra 1-10 points to add to her stats. Also depending on how "lucky" your genie is, you can in fact get extra skills (up to a max of 8 I think) at a later stage in the game. The genie's appearance is also affected.

Another thing which may help you is the knowledge that, at higher levels you get quest rewards such as 20 items (can't remember the name right now) which allow you to change 20 of the genie's stats, and also an affinity reset stone and several exp infusion stones. The first 2 things are very helpful if you feel you have messed up somewhere, so don't worry, you do get a second chance later on, without having to use RL money.

If your genie goes badly with Lucky Points initially, you may want to get another. There are a few ways of doing this. Make a new char and immediately put the genie into trade state - as it takes you 7 days to be able to change it over to your main char. Or you could use 3 mirage stones (the ones you get for exchanging the celestones and the fragments) at the Watcher of the Earth in any of the major cities, and pick any of the 4 types. Personally I like Zeals (the golden yellow ones) because of Earthflame, the skill they have when you first get them (which is not available for other genies). Earthflame is one of the best genie skills available and is used to lure mobs, when packed together, so you can kill them one at a time.

All in all, I commend your early research into genies. I wish there were more info on them too. I hope some of this info was new to you, and you have been able to use it and that the wall of text did not put you off reading too much XD
