Does any know why the PvP Arena is not enabled in our version?

PW-CN has it.

Even PW-BR has it. b:cry

I would ask the GM's to respond but I'm more likely getting a respond from the Pope so I won't bother.

So, I'm asking the players if they have any idea why it's not open.

    Well... it's GM activated... I've seen PvP from PW-JP... and it had a GM announcing winners inside the Arena etc.

    Whether it's cross-server or not... I don't know, but at least it was competitive... Take a look.

    This has been discussed many times but nobody has been able to give a good answer. I find it weird though.

    It would seem that every version but ours has it.

    It's always "been under construction but come back shortly".

    I think it's a GM run event, so they would actually need to have GM's run it. Which may be why they don't actually have it open here.

    It's not about money, but availability.

    PWI's slashed about half their employee count, I would estimate. Not to mention all the new PWE titles coming out and most GMs (the ones left) are spread out over a thin line.

    Arena doesn't require GMs.

    You go in any day, punch the sticks for chi, go to center and pk whomever without chances of dropping anything. You can't drop anything either.

    Saturday event is basically kill the boss and pick up whatever it drops. PK everyone if you want all the boss drops for yourself.

    The Bloody Arena near sundown is basically the same. Every Wednesday, you go in by paying 100k, get a mat and a blessing, then pk everyone until time runs out and you get to turn in all the mats you stole for prizes. There's also buffs roaming around (like horse race) and chests you can dig for uber buffs. You also get kicked out if you die.

    I'm pretty sure only reason they won't open it is doll/scroll sales.

    Maybe it doesn't require GMs, but I thought it was GM monitored at the least... because I heard people would have to sign up on their forums in order to participate.

    Wut? There's a difference between arena, and a GM using the arena to run their own little event.

    Hmm, I guess they held the inter-server PvP world cups at the same place then... I couldn't tell by watching the videos alone. Didn't know the servers had regular ones too. b:shocked

    @TheDan - I believe the cross server PvP tournament is held there in the CN version.

    I find it weird that we have the same patch or just a few patches behind CN and they are using the Arena just fine without any trouble.

    There are two reasons I can think of why it's not open:
    1. Doll's sale, like someone pointed out earlier. Then again SL is what 90% of the red names use anyways so that should not be holding them back from opening the areina, imo.
    2. GM's are lazy. Translating the text takes time.. but hey if the BR GM's could do, so can you!

    Yes, we're always a few patches behind PW-CN, but the arena has functioned on PW-CN fine for well over a year. Maybe they're just holding out on us like they did with the Tournament. The Tournament was still working just fine in PW-CN when ours was discontinued. b:surrender

    Nope. Arena is like TW. No dropping or shattering. Only ones you can't attack are your squad members.

    The GS reasoning doesn't really work, when it's cheaper to use tokens of luck instead of getting from CS. Whereas the arena would give good reason to get charms, which are still cash shop. So I am curious why it isn't being implemented.

    This. I think most if not all GS's are made from tokens.

    GS are still good incentive to get tokens, which come from packs, and in turn make them more money. Not like tokens magically appear out of an npc's ****. Why do you think they added hypers to the token exchange?

    Let's try a list:
    Bugs - Nope, they apparently don't exist if CN and other versions can use it.
    Charms - Nope, that'll actually make them money.
    Low levels complaining about getting ganked - 1) Arena never opened in PWI so there are none from it; 2) It's called "arena".
    Kills world PVP - most PWI servers are PVE. Even more of their money comes from PVE servers. Even all of them combined can't match any action in an actual PVP server.
    It's actually under construction - Really? 2 expansions, jungle being tweaked, it was never broken to begin, rankings getting fixed multiple times, but still not enough time?
    Easy to exploit ranking with it - Having alts/friends to kill in world pvp isn't?

    Arena was before token packs as well, so either GS reason or they're just incredibly lazy.
