    SPIRIT BLAST is one of our highest damage basic attack, and from what I found out, it also have a high amount of aggro points, thus aggroing easily if you use it too much in dungeons especially...

    As for RED TIDE, since its our most powerful direct damaging spells, and its also a AOE attack/bleed, it have a very high chance of aggroing mobs attention.


    Looks like I know more info on psychics than you even when I am not even level 60+...... talk about hating psychics..... they help rule the changes in PWI.....

    Aaaactually, Red Tide's damage loses out to both of the level 100 skills.

    Sandball Clash has 300% weapon damage and slightly lower elemental damage while stone smasher has 400% weapon damage and 10k elemental damage.

    But anyway...

    The only time I've ever pulled aggro with Red Tide is if my tank sucks or I hit the boss right after the tank pokes it with flesh ream. Or if I am the tank.

    And in comparison to the damage...

    My red tide barely hits for 14k on drake. It takes two sparks and has a 30 second cool.

    In comparison, Glacial Shards and Sandburst Blast hit for around 30-35k total. I can cast both and by the time I finish casting glacial shards, sandburst will be cooled, letting me cast it again.

    Unless you get red tide to level 10, which really isn't that important because you have better skills to level, your other skills will just be better. It's not worth the 2 spark cost unless level 10 where the bleed actually has a decent chance to hit or if you are sage or demon, for the chance to save a spark casting it or the chance for the bleed to do 1.2x soulforce.

    :/ And if you pull aggro with spirit blast, your tank must really suck, because I've never pulled with spirit blast unless the tank hasn't reamed yet.

    And of the 'basic attacks', yes, it is more powerful. But Aqua Impact is more useful, thanks to the slow. Spirit Blast is one of our least useful skills in terms of psychic play. It's basically our only attack that doesn't inflict some sort of debuff.

    I wouldn't go as far as to say it's our least useful. I use Spirit Blast+Aqua Impact for their high DPS on bosses, throwing in a Sandburst when the Accuracy debuff wears out (when the boss is tanked physically).

    Ehh, I guess, but that's all it is good for.

    In general PvE, it's alright, since most psys just grind using Aqua Impact and Spirit Blast, then landslide whenever the mob gets close.

    But in PvP and on big groups of monsters, it's really worthless. Doesn't do as much damage as our other skills, and doesn't inflict any sort of beneficial (to us) debuff. I really can honestly say the only time I use spirit blast is in PvE grinding.

    if basic attack = {spirit blast, aqua impact} then your statement is true
    also, since you are <60 those spells are the ones that are used most

    now however i barely use them, glacial shards/sandburst blast or even earth vector deal a lot more damage (maxed). i guess that you haven't maxed them so their damage are comparable to spirit blast's

    also, while it is true that aggro mechanics are not quite clear, the current theory is that aggro is based on damage and not some sort of spell hate as far as i know

    i never said anything about red tide. personally i dislike it, I would rather double spark. i guess that a lvl10 red tide will have a high chance of bleed that would be lethal with highly refined weapon/armor

    No it is not! I get PKed least by psychics... but I hate how overpowered psychics are that they one shot me easy

    ye, can agree with you on that that since I am still level 58, I use spirit blast, aqua impact, sandburst blast and landslide alot. I also like aqua impact since it have even chance to get opponents to slow down...

    You did guess correctly that I did not level my sandburst blast and glacial shards alot because of my lack of coins......

    And of course stone smasher and sandball crush overpowers red tide... the only reason I reply to this post "I hate psychics" is because I disagree totally with him... with introduction of the tideborns, I think its getting more exciting since both the new classes changes the flow of the game...... with all the different new effects and stuff... -_-lll So if he hate it, and from what I read about him failing being a archer, the best for him quit this game and play another one...... rather than coming here rattling about hating both archers and psychics......

    Weren't whips part of the assortment of weapons when PW was P2P? They're still in the database.

    Yeah, psy's are just freaking awesome, I have a 27 psy and I plan to play her more when my sin I'm posting on reaches 80.

    Hmm... kk, I will give some friendly advice this time... if you are using a psychic, if you are ever in a squad, NEVER EVER attack untill you see the tanker getting hold of a good aggro.
    From the many BH and FB I have experience, psychics are best in defending the cleric from attacks. To put it simply, if the cleric takes aggro because of healing spells, you snatch the aggro away from the cleric to prevent the cleric from dieing. This will actually make the squad more happy as you die to protect the cleric from dieing, which in many dungeons can save a whole squad!! IF you battle bosses/ mobs in dungeons that use AOE, put yourself on white voodoo and just cast your DoT spells. You can occasionally attack the target. And if the AOE hits everyone, use bubble of life to heal everyone in radius especially the cleric. Your position when fighting in FB or any other bosses is to always stay near / together with the cleric... And REMEMBER THIS CLEARLY, as a arcane class/ mage class, we take up lots of MP to deal massive damage or even help a squad get out of sticky situation... and WIZARDS and PSYCHICS are MEANT to DIE in battle to help save the whole squad when the time is right

    For archers, always use spells like the ones that lower target's max HP and just normal attacks, like that, you won't even get the aggro... then you won't die that easily...

    This is the little advice, you can take it in and stop hating psychics or not listen to me and I will tell you to quit this game... b:lipcurl
