[New Cleric Skill] Mystical Veil

Alright, so I've been playing my cleric for a couple of months now, and the one thing I've always hated about clerics is that once you've somehow gotten aggro from a boss or a large group of mobs, (either by the tank dying, or heal aggro) it is sometimes incredibly difficult to get out alive, especially if the monster chasing you is a boss.
Think about this situation for a bit. Clerics already have to sacrifice their own exp (or spend additional coins on guardian scrolls if they want to save exp) to release and revive squad members to save their exp. Every cleric I've met hates doing this, and I know many of you clerics out there leave revive at level 1 because of this ("Why should they get their exp back when I don't?")
Now, before I go on, I just want to say that this isn't just a QQ thread; I am well aware of how to play my class and how to prevent such happenings, but there are just some instances where you are doomed to die, such as when it is not you who screwed up but your squad members. Yea, you could use plume shell on yourself, holy path, guardian light, wings of protection, etc. to try to save yourself from the incoming boss, but when your base movement speed is 4.8 M/S, your Health is low, the boss moves at 15 M/S and is capable of one-hitting you, and the dungeon exit is 100 miles away, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get out alive. Sure, you could suicide on the boss and use a resurrection scroll to lose your hard-earned exp to save your squad members' exp, but that does get irritating after a while.
What I've always wanted, as a cleric, is to have a skill that would dispel aggro instantly and save your sorry ****. So, I've outlined the skill I've thought up of (with inspiration from a previous MMO I played, which had a similar skill for its healers) below.
Skill: Mystical Veil
Required Spirit: 100,000
Required Coin: 150,000
Required Level: 59
Required Cultivation: Transcendent
Pre-requisite Skill: None
Mana Cost: 500
Channel Time: Instant
Cast Time: Instant
Cooldown Time: 3 Minutes (180 seconds)
Maximum Level: 1
Skill Description:
Focus your energies to create a magical veil which hides you from your enemies.
Places yourself into an ethereal state for 5 seconds; monsters and players can see you, but they can neither attack nor use skills on you.
Causes an "Anti-roar" effect; all monsters will stop attacking/chasing you and will aggro on the previous person to aggro them.
Spells casted on you before you casted this spell will be interrupted.
Stealth disappears when duration is reached, a spell is cast, or the caster moves.
Pre-maturely ending the spell freezes caster for 3 seconds.
Requires 2 Sparks
How this skill would help:
1. Allows Clerics to easily escape aggro from bosses and/or mobs.
2. Saves the Cleric's exp and allows the squad to continue with the dungeon
Balance:
1. Has a large mana cost and a long cooldown to reduce abuse.
2. If used during PvP, it acts as only a temporary distraction, similar to Clerics other protection spells.
3. Prematurely ending the spell reduces movement speed, so if the Cleric decides to cast a spell while stealthed, getting away after that is more difficult.
4. Usage of 2 sparks prevents abuse, prevents casting of Triple/Double spark while in stealth, and requires the user to think before casting the spell.
When judging, please remember to vote on concept, not numbers. Numbers can always be tweaked, so it's the concept which counts. Thank you for taking your time to read this!

Personally, it'd be easier if Revive had a longer range. It's not my job to shut you down on a suggestion. It's a pleasure, though.0

Eh idk. Holy path would negate the speed reduction. And there's an apothecary pot that makes you invincible for 8 seconds and makes you unable to move or use skills. So my vote is no. Sorry.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Oh look, Sage revive has a 40 meter range! Problem solved. Now, back on topic please >.>Ashivas - Dreamweaver wrote: »Eh idk. Holy path would negate the speed reduction. I wasn't aware that holy path negates speed reduction (never used holy path while slowed), so I'll adjust something to compensate for that. Also, invincibility doesn't solve the problem of the boss on your tail. Even if your squad members took aggro, they would all eventually drop and you would as well.0 -
problem with "maximum stealth lvl" problem is, although the bosses are defined as lvl 150 in the PW database, there is no set number they are, becasue they are lvl "?" so, IN THEORY a stealth lvl above 150 MIGHT make a "?" boss not see u, but, theres no proof, unless someone can test it on a private server.
i also dont like the idea of a "Stealth" skill, maybe something like the revese of a "Roar" which, is useless in PvP, but, very useful in PvE, which, seems to be your main target of this skill, also, making it a anti-roar type skill allows a faster cool down time and a possible removal, if not reduction in spark usage
also, with the "immune to speed increse" debuff, there is no debuff for that, they would not only have to make a new skill, but an entriely new debuff
with movement stopping the use of the skill, then it debuffs u, thats a problem becasue its a instant cast, jsut like when u use guardian light while moving, it wont stop u from moving, and what are u doing most of the time when u have aggo? RUNNING, this is a problem if the moment u use the skill, it fks up and debuffs u.0 -

well, it does not negate it, its that, the skill says "move u to maximum speed" which, when slowed, is STILL max, u can move at 1m/s but when u u use holy path, it brings u to maximum no matter what, so, once holy path wears off, u can still be slowed.
also with the 8sec pot, there are actully 12sec pots that do the same, there are 8sec pots that make u immune with no drawback, however, both those pots can only be made when u hold a territory0 -
Yah, I feel bad myself when any of my cleric friends have to die and lose exp 3 or 4 times then get mad and leave the party cuz any super noob squad member can't play his/her character. It's just not fair. So I sayd yes : )[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Not true. I make them myself, and still have some in inventory. Whoever told you that was lying. Unless this is a recent change, I made mine about a month ago, still coasting off of those lol.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Ok, so maybe some ideas in this skill were misunderstood.
The point of the skill is to make yourself "invisible," and instantly lose all aggro off monsters
Now, in order to make this more balanced in PvP and TW, I suggested that prematurely ending the invisibility would draw repercussions, such as slowing the caster and stopping him/her from increasing his/her movement speed.
Now if that seems unbalanced or too difficult to implement, the repercussions could be tweaked, but so far, no one's been giving me any suggestions.0 -

How about a self rez skill like in LOTR: The Third age?
Cast it on yourself, lets say it lasts about 30 mins or an hour.
Should you die with this time you will be automatically rezzed on the spot or near a safe zone with 0% Xp loss, 100% MP and HP.
The skill is only applicable to you..no one else.0 -

Res scroll + guardian scroll basically does the same, only problem being that instead of exp you lose money on death.
A skill like that would be brilliant.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I like this, because it's kind of pathetic clerics have to carry GA's and res scrolls, but the other classes just have to spam "rez plz" until you decide to res them.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Holy ****..I'm getting positive feedback for a suggestion...I must have died in my sleep.b:shocked
Anyhow, I'm in the same mentality. If I'm risking my neck, either for an experienced player that just didn't have a good day or was at the wrong place at the wrong time, or a less experienced player, I think THIS would be a nice incentive for us as a class.
even tho this may do no good....PLEASE GM'S CONSIDER THIS.0
