Server time vs. Server ping

I'm trying to decide on which server to create my first character, and I'm not in the U.S., so I'm stuck with a tough choice:

∙ East Coast with a ping time of 250ms or so, where 9pm server time is 3am local time.
∙ West Coast with a ping time of 350ms or so, where 9pm server time is 6am local time.

I wouldn't be able to stay up till 3am on any regular basis [I do have a day job =) ] but I could conceivably get up at 6am for an event (if it was really important!) every now and then.

So, I guess my question is: what's more important - events or ping time?

    Your timezone will make playing PWI somewhat annoying :3 Right now, the biggest event around is Celestial Tiger, which starts at 9pm server time. Other events are located around this as well, like Jungle Ruins, at 20:30. Daily bidding for cash shop items (uses real money) starts at 8pm. You're also going to get Territory Wars, which have a much wider range, stuff like 6pm, 8pm, although unless you end up in a large faction you shouldn't have to worry. 350ms ping isn't that bad at all, there are people in my faction who live with perma-500ms ping, spiking to 1400 or something...

    b:sad i normally have 800 ping with a cap of 2.5k
