For the sake of simplicity it's probably a bad idea to list every single pet like I did, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to include the lowest and highest level of each pet family as the highest have some advantages that make them worthwhile. An Ethereal Inamorato and Undine Mystic for example make great pullers, the Mystic is a good water pet you don't need to level as well.
6. Sort pets logically somehow. For example by air/land/water then alphabetically or something. Just some way that makes it less jumbled.

1. It's the same formula so it's easy to do.
2. I'm not so sure it's crazy. The only two pets to routinely use only one damage skill are a herc and phoenix. Other pets such as magmites, glacial walkers, shadou cubs, and whatever else, regularly use more than one skill, because of the aggro. Even two skills would be good, and fits in easily with making bash level adjustable. Level 0=don't have, level 1-5=has. FR doesn't need calculated either just bash (it's less damage and aggro than bash) so it's fairly simple code wise.
3. That would work well. I can see auto adjust, but being able to see just how much of a difference you get from x level of a skill is useful.
4. Cast time is 1.5 seconds. During that time a pet doesn't put out any damage and melee swing timers freeze. Using my eldergoth marksman for example it has 3688 attack and an attack of .5/sec. When it uses level 5 bash it gets 7376 (3688*2) damage before physical resist is taken into account. However, it takes 1.5 seconds to cast bash and during those 1.5 seconds no melee damage is being done. Since the pets melee is 1844 damage/second (3688*.5) in 1.5 seconds it does 2766 damage (1844*1.5). So in reality of that 7376 damage bash adds, it would have done 2766 anyways bringing the actual damage added by bash to 4610 in 9.5 seconds (1.5 cast+8 cooldown) so 485.26 damage/sec.
5. Good to hear.

back from holiday - yes, im the "someone" who posted on ecatomb :-)
the formula i calculated for that phoenix is accurate,... for the people who know some maths, i just fitted a second degree polynomial in it. but still need to check where they round it. The residuals are below 1 in absolute value. The correct values for the coefficients a b and c i had that formula to get only a and b in it, so c comes from the tame level - attack. (begin-value of the polynomial).
a goes same for same atk-value on growth chart i guess. Maybe they work with 8digits for a and b.
That formula i got for the phoenix is very exact,... just need to figure a and b for other pets and figure out how a and b vary for other pets, (assumption so far is that A is same value for pets with same growthchart).

Turtles have the best growth rate of water pets.
Finned Undines are 2
Legged Undines are 3 (my spreadsheet incorrectly states 4)
Mermaids are 2
Arrowfish is 3
Turtles are 4
Plumpfish is 3
The only advantage non turtles sometimes have is debuffs until you get up to the plumpfish which have the advantage of being leveled.0 -

ur data gives a=0.303738, b=9.542575, c=15.1847
n with that data, if i calculate for lvl 90, i find 3334.3 atk, and ecatomb says 3336
and for lvl 100, i get 4006.83 n ecatomb says 4008,... so with a bit of tweaking those data, ill find the exact values of "a" and "b"
(can do lots of more stuff like including the data from ecatomb, coz those r influential datapoints etc,... but i leave on holiday for a few weeks, so lots of preparing still to do, so wont be able to figure out much in the next weeks)
hehe,... a=0.303738, and if u put that up front, u get a polynomial where c=50 and b=31.42
apparently if u put that a up front, the b and c will be same for all pets or something like that??? (clickd on a bit through that japanese wiki and found something like that)

you just used two values to calculate it with that parabola formula??? (taming level and level 100 from the japanese wiki?)
(i used all datapoints so mine should be a bit more accurate,... but they rounded too, so i guess it will be with some simple numbers that they work,... just got to find the rounding correctly)
(@ecatomb: read ur pms? (or send me a pm with ur xfire or so, so we can talk about it a bit? ))
edit1: (the japanese wiki is very usefull, just gotta click through a bit when ur using google translate, and u can find some formulas they figured out,... but they r also saying theyr formula is not 100% correct. They make a diffrence in first factor (the a) for when theyr 0.6 and 0.8 aps, for the diffrent growth-chart-values.)
edit2: or something like that,... didnt bother reading all of that japanese wiki, and the translations arent exactly 100% accurate too0 -

if u do level minus tame-level u can calculate the easier way with a and b only, so c comes out of begin-level-value, but not bored enough to do that right now,...
a=0.21 is interesting,... i guess low attack-growthchart? (dunno, still havent thought much more about it than i did last time,... should still figure out how it does that with the 0.6 aps n 0.8 etc, coz than the value of a should be diffrent from what it is for a diffrent atkspeed, due to the fact that A is the quadratic term, so it would make pets with 0.6 aps grow quadratically same speed as 0.8, so the 0.8 ones would be sick overpowerd, coz blablablabla - cant be motivated to type out more XD0 -
