Cleric and vitality

Hi.

I am lvl 49 cleric and i have been using the 8 mag 1str 1vit build.
My vitality is now 29.

So the question is if i should leave it there. This is my first account and i am not too funded -.-
Does the 29 vitality make much of a difference?

Dif people like to cap at 50, some at 100, then 150 is a typical high-end vit cleric.

Me personally capped at 100, and am quite happy with the build. Solo well, and survive good in tight situations. and still heal efficiently, and do enough damage to solo.

It really is entirely up to you. If you are comfortable with 29, then stick with that.

I personally have a base of 25 and have never had to put more. I generally spam refines on gear to make up for it. It's always seemed to me that most aim for 50 but I never did. It's just a matter with how much you can be comfortable. If you're comfortable with base 3, base 25, or base 100, then go with that

Vit is actually really important for your build because if you have too little then you may end up getting the good one 1-shot from a TT boss, and if you have too much then you have less points for magic which means weaker heals and attacks.

For me, I had... let me rememger haha,

I think it was 40 Vit. and the rest was a pure build.

Some have a little less, but any cleric going into an aoe boss with no points invested in Vit and no HP stones/ refined gear is foolish.

Make sure you have a LOT of points in magic. It's your main attribute.

Also. Just from personal experiences Do not even bother getting Tempest when you get to Lvl 60. The thing just takes too long to cast, it doesn't do killer damage till it's past lvl 5, and it costs a lot of money which you could spend on getting BB or RB or Pots

The easiest way too look at it is like this. The more points you put into vit means the less available for magic. Thus the higher refine you need on your wpn to compensate the lack of dd strength/healing power vs a pure mag build cleric. But then the pure mag cleric needs higher refine gear to compensate for hp/lack of points in vit. If you are looking for the cheap way out (and still be an effective dd/healer) 50ish vit max is the norm. That's 450 unbuffed hp vs a pure magic cleric you'd get (if they have vit @ 5). Alot of magic classes restat when they get into their 90's+ to remove vit when they actually obtain gear worth refining up (thus making up for the hp/pdef they've lost f/ removing vit).

My vitality is 160 (including some + from gear).
You don't have to get HP just from putting in vit.
If you have enough money you can also get it from shards (flawless/immac/perfect)
I did a combination of both and i have now a little over 5K HP unbuffed.
I am completely happy with it, for quests and dungeon runs I consider a good amount of HP very nice

Just a question: If you dont plan on adding vit ever, then whats best to shard with, garnets or citrines, or maybe a mixure of both? My veno is heavy with a base of 3 vit, and i understand heavy refines better than arcane so it's normal to put citrines in, but how would a cleric with 5 or 3 vit be sharded?

Were usually best with a mixture of both, not fully one of the other, it really depends on the gear your sharding, and how much you can refine it for hp etc etc.

Have to get HP from somewhere. If you +3 refine all your gear, thats still only like 60-70 HP per item. And imo you need at least 3,000 Hp unbuffed to TT, FC, that kinda stuff. So I'd go mostly citrine if you're going 5 vit.

i got about 150 vit, with gear its like 200 planning on restating later on thought that amount of vit with gear gives me like 5.3k hp unbuffed was always usefull for me like when someone accidently kills an add in fcc runs or nirvaan or others =P

...thats only 250 more hp than me and i got 20 vit.... kinda seems a waste

Most cap around 50...well this seems to be the "average" as one might say.

It really all depends on play style, as as been mentioned.

My experience with vit.....a lot of restats b:surrender

I had no added vit until level 70, then capped at 50. (all Citrine sharded till level 100)

Restatted at 100 to 100 vit then to 150 vit (tw cata cleric and lower refines). (changed to all Garnet shards)

Restated at 101 to 100, then to 50 as my refines got better.

Currently, I have 41 base vit and will be pulling the final 36 vit once I refine one more piece.

41 base vit (with the initial 5) and I have 7.3k hp unbuffed and 100% Garnet sharded. If you can get the refines, then you really do not need an insane amount of vit. Keep in mind too that vit will add a small amount of pdef.

Ultimately it is how you play. As everyone has stated...you can have 0-150+ vit is you so choose. Besides, it is not like you cannot restat later

Not right...lol

+5 is easy...very easy to get with mirages and a few Tiek stones. The rest you can do with Tisha's through +8 (9+ and above = orbs imo, but those can be farmed). There is no reason why anyone could not have +6-+7 gear.

And I know a ton of non-cs'ers that have epically amazing gear.

Adding vit is about play style, not about cs'ing b:chuckle

also depends on what your aiming to do. as rose said shes a catacleric. pvp/tw clerics will need more hp and more phys def. hence the high refines/vit and garnets. pve not so much. I personally do just fine right now as a pure build (5 white vit) with about 3500hp unbuffed without any cash shopping. high damage, high heals, moderate HP .....albeit crappy phys def which i'll probably work on when I get into the 90sb:surrender

There is a vast amount of knowledge on the forums and information on how to refine cheaper than using dragon orbs. The average refine using mirage and Tisha/Tienkang stones to +5 refine is around 1.5-3M.
