Archer build questions.

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this game, and I'm unsure of how I should build my Archer.

I know that the 4 Dexterity:1 Strength build is the way to go, but could I get away with adding a couple of points into Vitality every 4 levels? (3 Dexterity:2 Vitality) Would 8 points in Strength for every 10 levels be enough to allow me to wear Light Armor?

I also know that putting points into Magic is a no-no for Archers, but I noticed that some NPC bows require you to have more Magic points than the 5 you are given at the beginning of the game. How can I meet the the Magic requirements of these bows?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you! ~Risaia b:thanks

    Hello and welcome.

As long as you have 1 str and 1 dex per level, you can wear light armour at the required level (not considering gear bonuses). As for the remaining 3 points, Most of us put it all into dex for pure dd. I prefer this, because in my opinion, archers' survivability - in PVE at least - depends a lot on the skill of the player (timing of WoG, winged shell, sparks to survive heavy hits, use of knockback and stuns to prevent mobs from getting close), and not as much on your hp.

If you want vit for extra hp, try setting a cap for yourself, at maybe 50-100 vit, and pace it as you level. I'm not familiar with these builds, however.

As for mag, leave it at 5. You should not add any under any circumstance. I have not yet seen a ranged weapon that has a mag requirement in-game, though I may not be high level enough. But I'm fairly sure there's no such requirement..

And also do not add any more str than the required LA, unless you are going for early helms or fists.

1 vit every 4 levels is not even worth your time. By the time you get to level 100, that's 25 more vit for you, which equal to around 250 hp, which is nothing. You can get that from refining a piece of endgame armour to +5.
