Hello I am hoping someone could please help me with this. It is very frustrating.

I think there may be a problem with my computer. I have recently started to experience severe graphical lag when playing. I have updated my graphics cards to the most recent drivers and my computer is running as fast as usual but in PWI (even with graphics set to mininum) my FPS (Frames per second) randomly drops from 84 to about 5 or 10. I am not running any other program while playing perfect world. Can someone please take a look at this for me?

I have my Dxdiag open at the moment, tell me which bits you want to know and I shall post them for you!

(If I post it all it would be a MASSIVE page)

Many thanks in advace!

It'll be helpful to us if you tell us some of your computer's information.

    1) What is the make and model number of your computer?

    2) Please also tell us whether you are running a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows. You can find out in Windows by going here: Start > Control Panel > System & Maintenance > System. Then look under System > System Type. It will then display 32bit Operating System or 64bit Operating System. Include that info with the info we ask for below.

    3) To create a dxdiag log, go to Start, click on Run, then type in dxdiag and press Enter. Click on Save All Information as a text file (on your Desktop as an example.
If you are using Vista or 7, go to the Start Menu, click on the Search menu and type dxdiag.exe.

    4) Copy and paste the top half of your dxdiag into your forum post (that means 50% of the text). If you have Vista, please take out the (TM) (the trademark symbol) out of the text file, as the forums will cut it off and won't display the rest of the text.

If you have a 64bit system, please click on the 64bit Dxdiag/DirectX button to save the correct log file. This is important so that we can help you find the right software for your system.

We'll take a look at it, and offer our advice (or our super cool and helpful community might beat us to answering things for you).

After this I might be able to help if there are no GM's online :)

This doesn't really speaks much to me. But where exactly your FPS are going down ? I mean in battles or in big cities etc. ?

Reasons might be several : Graphic card can't handle with the visualization when there are major things happening around (nothing else came up in my mind lol) or the computer might be slowing down from spyware or another thing. What AV are you using ?

My FPS Goes down for seemingly no reason at all. I can be in the middle of nowhere, with no people around and it will suddenly go down or I can be in the middle of west arch and it will be fine.

Also; my AV is a program other than PWI so I dont know if I am allowed to say it here. O_o
I shall scan my computer and see if that helps. But it is a paid for and well repsected AV.

Decent system. The game should run like a charm.

If there is high hard drive activity (HDD led) when these frame rates drop maybe Windows is just updating itself when you have auto updates on. Also it might be your antivirus which has a scheduled virus scanning every day at a specific time or some other program that is updating itself or scanning the system.

I have noticed that the computer seems to struggle at times as if it IS running a scan but it isnt. Nor is it updating itself.

I guess it's one of those problems I have to take the computer to the shop for.

Thanks guys for trying to help anyway. Much appreciated!

Maybe you should run a virus scan before taking it the shop, just a personal advice :) Don't forget that sometimes you can receive attacks by the network.

Ran virus scans on all 3 virus protectors I have and nothing came up. :O

Changed the phone line to the modem and things seem to be working better now.

My internet connection seemed to be the problem, don't really understand how that made my HDD led flare up but oh well. It is fixed now.

    Thank you all!!
