And there's still a lot of it that could be said to be broken. The Psychic debuffs, no 92 TB skillbooks...

On one of the sites that was linked by Korren before the expansion came out, it has been stated that several of the psychic buffs and debuffs will not be dispelled by purge/purify, dying or logging off therefore they are not broken as you claim they are. And the 92 TB books were retexted so that they would say 99 instead. It makes sense, because all level 92 skillbooks require your character's cultivation to be either "Master of Discord" or "Master of Harmony" which are level 99 cultivations. Lets think for a moment, Olba: when was the last time you yourself learned a 92 archer skillbook...AT 92?

they really could 'update' pwi and add some new content

instead of pumping all money they earn to develop another failing game every 4 months b:lipcurl

Yeah. It would be nice than doing BHs all the time and get back to the storyline before we all forget about it especially for high lvls.I even forgot some of it already.
Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

frankieraye agrees with us, so maybe the devs will do this...

Anyway, please stop the talk about candylands and plagues. They are not related to this topic.

The graphics themselves are fine, on highest quality that is. Sure they're not top-notch but still look pretty dam good.

My beef is with the skills tho. Apart from a few select skills like Heaven's Flame and some of the newer tideborn skills that are a direct rip off from JD or whatever **** game. Most other kills look REALLY, REALLY dated. And I think 79/100 skills should be given different looks. 40mil for elven boon and I expected it to be nice and flashy, not a crapped out cyclone.

    Hell yes.

I mean look at the difference between tideborn skills and 90% of the other skills.

Like flesh ream for instance; the explosion (which is pretty weird in itself, but whatever) looks like they just copied it from one of the early DOOM games b:sweat

I'd say update the game engine, but I don't think that's the right wording... The game, as is, runs very poorly. With a 1 GB video card, the game gets an average of 20-30 fps on the world map (no people around). Even though I'm using Anti Alias, if I turn it off I only get a few more fps (less than 10).
Turn the water effects off. Fixed.
For whatever reason the engine renders the world mirrored in the water even when you're nowhere near it, reducing performance.

Other than that, the engine used in PWI (and ESO, JD, Foo, HoTK and the upcoming FW) is one of the most optimised MMOG engines on the market. It'll most likely run on your crappy netbook if you tweak the settings enough.

Anyway, updating PWI's graphics (textures, models, skins, animations, effects, world geometry) would be an undertaking almost on the level of making art assets for an entirely new game from scratch. Unless you have Blizzard's resources, you probably can't pull it off for a mere expansion.

tbh there isnt to much more "graphics" wise needed. Not to many games out there FTP offers a chance to make EVERY character so unique in facial/body combos, and can support it enough to run with ease.

The land scape on full settings is still awesome to look at compared to alot of other MMO games, and the angelica 3d engine is older, but still top-notch.

I would like to see more motion graphics for spell casting though. some just look simple, and boreing.

Maybe revisit the wepon graphics? I mean seroulsy, to get a relistic sword scale to character would be ideal for eye candy.

But what I would LOVE for them to do is make mounts/wing of a smaller scale. Really, that Fish is just a lil over board, and the nien beast isnt far behind.

fassion for the guys? PLEASE hire a manly man to design the next sets.

Also scanning through someone said the graphics were to blurry, try unclicking the blur effect, and leave sharpened check, set to full texture, is a nice crisp look then.

Raising the cap to soon could end up being a turn off to NEW players. Some old games are dieing out now as it is because catching up to the "end game" seems like an endless task.

They just need more endgame content, raiding would be somthing ideal, and always popular in all games.

2 years isn't too soon if you ask me. If it ever gets raised then the leveling curve past 100 would need some serious tweaking though.

And yeah, right now it would be rather pointless unless they add something to do that doesn't cost buckets of money (*cough*TW*cough*) since endgame is more of a finish line than anything else right now.

it would bee nais if they finally could raise lvlcap....100-105 is so called hardcap that ppl would stop at lvl100 but naa...lvl99-100 needs 30mil exp 100-101 67mil exp 104 and 105 need same amount of exp dunno why ppl still lvling

Yes because farming materials of which the droprate gets reduced and the bosses get more impossible with each maintenance, for shiny gear you can obtain whereafter there's still not much to do just downright spells F-U-N right?

Or just increase the strength of the Bosses that drop the items to be farmed, and make it a raid force to obtain it. Could even TEIR the instances for keys .Least it would bring back FACTION value.

I can't believe I'm defending PWE for once but..

The engine is old yes, but very optimized. I live across the pond, in Europe, meaning my latency is far from perfect. My rig is nearly 4 years old and I can run the game with everything on highest without as so much as a hiccup. My FPS only drops when running through west arch or in a TW with 160 people, but that's more to do with my pc than the game, because I can't bear to run the game on best performance. It's hideous and I just can't. Seriously, get a better pc/intrawebz if you lag so much.

My rig is about 3 years old now, only got a much better gfx card a while ago back when I still played A*on. Ran it smooth and without lag on above average settings almost anywhere except the major trading places.

Then when I came back to pwi again I couldn't even turn up the water detail without my fps going down tremendously, so I think it's choppy programming that's at fault here.

or try playing L2 where you could have like 1k players in a single siege and still doesnt lag like PW in TW or west

The engine was modified so that it could do some transparent effects like the transparent glass in Raging Tide as well as the Tideborn 'meditation' graphics.

When they added these in problems with hair rendering was created and the fog in the swamps was removed. There was an explanation that the new data affected how transparencies in either meshes or some **** worked before the update... I'm not a coder, nor am I 3D modeler, but the method of rendering a few things in-game were changed for the Tideborn release.

The most simple thing for them to do would be to provide higher resolution textures. It would require a lot of work, but not as much as creating higher polygon models in the game or adding new creature models and sounds. Anything they do to improve the look of the game is going to have a noticeable increase in the size of the actual game. I wouldn't mind it, but I just don't see it happening.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

i don't see anything happening as they just break more than they fix

Counter strike source is older than PWI (on release dates not engine) and recently had an engine overhaul, so beats me why they wont do anything *shrugs*

I always keep the water at it's lowest setting. True, I sacrificed water for Anti Alias, but even with both off I still don't find the fps pleasant. Star Fox 1 and 2 (SNES) feels more faster than this. That is, until I get in an instance.

This. I also used max graphics back when I bought my card at january 2009. I cannot max it out now without it running like ****.

Like another popular P2P MMO, I think PWE should revisit old content and improve it. For example: The textures in most places are far too blurry and low quality. Old quests should be revised. Quests should be more varied, I mean I am sick and tired of flying to another place to grind and then find out I have to do it again. I would really like escort missions and such. Sound should also be improved new sound effects (especially the walking sound effect), and the music I am sick and tired of hearing the same tracks in non Tideborn areas.. You can't expect PWI to be popular if you have monotonous missions, outdated textures (from 2005!), and poor sound effects.

actually i've found that turning on the in-game sharpening and various other effects, as well as turning on some of the hardware driver-controlled enhancements (in my case an nVidia card) such as hardware texture sharpening and antialiasing and digital vibrance enhancements make the grass textures and such look pretty darn good, i'd even say better then a certain $15 a month MMO's graphics. as for music i dont think i've ever actually heard the in-game music aside from the logon screen tune that somehow turns itself back on after every patch, i tend to have my own, more "mood enhancing" soundtrack on elsewhere ( try the old top-gun "Danger zone" tune when you're fighting an arial mob such as jewels, just ads a certain something to the effect)

I wouldnt mind a sound effect update tho, squeaky lanterns annoy me worse then a squeaky door, someone get them all some WD-40 already.. lol. Oh and that looping swimming sound effect.. remind me of an old aquarium toy i had as a very small child
