Weapon for 4x?

Hi

What weapon should I use when i hit 4x and where do I get it from?

I've already read the Weapon Progression Guide, and no, I do not want to use a Sinister Shooter for reasons of my own.

And another question: In terms of Questing/Grinding, are Crossbows better than Bows? And what about PKing? I'd appreciate if someone laid it out for me, thanks.

And do not mention those hideous slingshots, please >:/

    Just use a 3 star ornamented bow (lv.42) until 50 where you can get the supply stash bow, or wait til 52 again and use a 3 star silverwing bow.

    40->60 is a breeze with the tideborn quest chain so you don't really need to put a lot into your gear. At level 60 you can get a tt60 crossbow ofcourse.

    Sinister Shooter is the best choice. I picked mine up for 150k then re-sold for 400k. Dunno the price on your server but 44-60 is quite fast so it probably isn't worth the money invested. Although if you pick one up cheaply use it then re-sell it like I did.

    @Awn where do you get this ornamented bow? And plus can anyone answer the question I posted about crossbows vs bows?

    Crossbow for pvp and i find a slingshot good for pve and bosses only realy used a bow on my archer becuase it looks cooler and in the 40's i think you get a good bow from a quest to kill some boss forgot the name

    Questing and grinding bows are better.

    Sorry I didn't read your post properly. But SS is the best choice as it's got -0.05int

    Oh yeah, I think the ornamented bow is from a quest where you kill Jewelcraftasman? It's lvl45 *** bow. Not bad.

    Level 45 there is a quest from Sumor Camp Chief I believe. The quest rewards you with a "Bow of the Goddess". It's a pretty nice bow, but I would really recommend a Sinister Shooter, for it last until level 60+, should you decide to refine it some levels^^.

    But hey everyone his own right?

    To your other question, as the others already said, x-bows are really a nice choice for pvp as they have a better spike damage.

    But plan on going interval, so maybe I should just stick to bows.

    And can someone help me figure out where to get a 3star ornamented, lol. I only see a 1star in the smithy.

    only way to get a 3* ornamental bow is crafting or praying for it as a boss drop unless you have one of those weapon exchange token things from the last jolly event.

    Use a decent 3* bow with some good adds. If you haven't came across one as a drop you can probably find one in the auction house.

    If every weapon had it's own specialty, bows are good for grinding for it's decent dps, slingshots are good for bosses cause you're less likely to take aggro, and xbows are good for pvp for it's spike damage and charm melting ability.

    You're less likely to take aggro with slings? W&C>Unicorn at drawing aggro...... but then again W&C has -0.1int

    Teppeii is right though. Unicorn sucks crabapples. And I have noticed during boss fights that using slings-in my case W&C(-int <3)- stops me pulling aggro, using a bow usually meant that it would come my way sooner or later to keel mehs..

    Actually during bosses I switch to the Unicorn to stop me from drawing aggro

    Archer's highest DPS = Auto-attacking
    Slingshots > Bows in attack speed
    Thus, a slingshot on par with a bow in terms of adds is more likely to steal aggro.


    Main reason most don't use slings at higher levels is that the last good one is W&C and the odds of crafting an OHT one with -interval and a couple of other good bonuses is... well... pretty slim.

    so even if i plan on going demon/interval, i should still stick to a crossbow for pvp? what about attack speed b:sad

    Nope. The best options for 80+ are pretty much all bows. Crimson Horn: Soulsmasher (TT80 gold) or Broad Land (FC85 gold), then Heaven Shatterer at 95.

    Also, I'm not really a fan of crossbows. Even their spike damage advantage is minimal to nonexistent, since CH:SS (TT80 gold), Vast Land and Broad Land all have +maximum damage modifiers. Blinding Radiance is nice, but then Heaven Shatterer blows it out of the water.
