remove repair?

I have a great idea as far as some form of compensation that we could get, that would make everyone happy.
REMOVE REPAIR COSTS.
Its a non essential blip in this game, really only a money pit, and no other PWE game has a repair bill. this would make it easier for players who dont have the money to pay into this game all the time to play it and enjoy it. Barbs and other tanks then wouldn't have to stress their repair more than their charms, and it would bring somewhat happy integration back into the game.
Please, GM's help us We're trying to enjoy your game but you're not letting us PLEASE. I understand you're a buisness and have a bottom dollar deadline, but cut us a break, we need some kick backs for being customers and being loyal to you, that aren't gambling, aren't exp increases, we need the ability to play and enjoy the game, but with the constant threat of repair and potion cost, there's no end to the heartache. PLEASE HELP US

We need a coin sink. As a melee, I hate my repair bill but you know, it's for common good.100% F2P player. Started PW: March 2007, Quit PW: March 2011.

As a barb, my repair cost is quite massive. It can easily reach 50k, 100k or even 200k depending on the dungeon I'm in.
I say, keep the repair costs. The game needs as many coin sinks as it can get.I am a barb that does not powerlevel, nor cash shop. I may not be the highest level, nor have the best gear. However unlike others, I know how to play.b:pleased0 -
... But then Barbs would lose their source of income because they wouldn't get first picks in TTs nor offers for free charms or wine.
And that would cause massive QQ.If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

Yeah right. They'd come up with a new solution to that. Something like: "I'm the most important member in this squad. First pick or GTFO."
Just joking, don't take it too seriously.100% F2P player. Started PW: March 2007, Quit PW: March 2011.

But isn't that already happening? "ALL YOU NEED IS BARB AND CLERIC, REST IS FILLER!"If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

i say its a bad idea. if you want to remove repair costs, you might as well remove the repair option and take off durability all together. but lowering the cost by a lot would help0

Yes but a general rule is that you never tell that you're serious when talking about things like this. You'll get hated and that's not what we want. Insult, don't get insulted. b:victory

Barb: Okay let's do this!
DD: Why are you getting the first pick?

This is a terrible idea. If anything, repair costs should go UP for level 12 gears and higher.
Yes, it's a pain. It's also a great gold sink that affects everyone.0 -
I have no problems with repairs... and yes I am a melee and I do tank a lot even in squads. There is such thing called as grinding, do it instead of focusing on leveling fast. I have enough money for immac shards. Just deal with it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

yeah, I remembered another game with no repair bills... people judge from levels even more =_=, but at least there was level restrictions on most of the game, but outside of that, was a huge sorce of power leveling. But since PWI doesn't have level restrictions in most games, it would cause a huge disaster[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

By today PWI economy aren't barbarians by TT's....the most expensive class, but mages. Not only a cleric, even a Wizzard & Psychic have by today PWI economy WAY more mp cost as tank repair bills. If all mages >must< live with they costs, then a tank should also live with they 50k repair costs per some TT...since every mage blow almost 50k mp cost already by 1 boss and no Wizzard, no Psychic cry about shty, cheap mats which she/he get for it.
If someone would come on such idioting idea to remove repair costs, what cost would have a tank at all ?. Most of barbarians which i have meet in almost 2 years, don't even buy hp pots ( most of them think that clerics are they personal hp charms ) and mp at last barbarians ( bm arent so greedy ) many also dont buy, they rather sit down. Just pointless QQ and nothing else. b:bye0 -
I'm confused. o.o I thought the whole point of the DQ price drop was to make a coin sink and lots of people got upset about that. Now someone suggests to remove a coin sink that already exists and people still don't want that either xD. No wonder they're having a hard time coming up with some 'compensation' lol. Then again not all classes have same repairs costs.0
-
Since removing repair will make Endurance [as well as Barb's/BM's Repair Bill] pointless,
you might as well remove:
Cost of Arrows [Archer's "Bill"]
Cost of Pet Food [Veno's "Bill"]
75% MP Regen Reduction for Arcanes [Arcanes MP Pot "Bill"]

maybe if you stop relying on auto attacks, then you shouldn't worry about repairs b:sweat... *leaves forums* b:avoid[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Even without auto attacks you'll need repairs. Don't be stupid Yulk, but that's asking too much.0 -
HECK NO! The repair bill is a perfect coin sink. It makes it so that melee classes can't just auto-attack, using no skills, and kill things. As a cleric I get really ticked off when I see a dumb butt (haha i used the word butt) just wacking a mob/boss with their weapon while im spam healing them to keep them alive wasting my money from pots while they barely lose anything. Trust me, a barbs repair bill barely outweighs a clerics pot bill. (yes I admitted that barbs do spend a lot on repairs, but if a cleric ends up with fail squads like I occasionally do and ends up tanking and healing a whole BH, as I often do with BH59, a cleric ends up being 100% more expensive than a barb)
If you want to remove the repair bill then remove the price of pots. ijs[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

How would removing repair ruin the game? Why do we need MORE coin sinks? someone explain that to me? dont we already have a sink in skills equipment and pots? cant we... I dunno, get relief somewhere?Apparently its more difficult to milk a smurf than originally conceived..0

The game needs more coin sinks, not less. I for one would be much happier if a larger part of the goods and services in the economy was left in the hands of npc's. The fixed price aspect of the npc offerings is one of the few factors working towards stability in the game.
Also, without repair bills, there would be no need to demand herc'ed venos. Are you suggesting to make their $200 dollar pet useless for squads?0 -

I agree. The NPCs need to do more of the business in the game. Too much of the economy is in the hands of the players.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
