Having trouble with new patch.

Hello. I'm having some trouble with the new patch and downloading it. Once I get to elementskill.dll it will cease to keep downloading and ask me to try again or quit the update. If you have any advice or help. Please and thank you. I also did the patch 369-390 download from the download page. When it was finished. The client was updating then got to elementskill.dll and said that the file was corrupted. I hope that also helps you to know what the possible problem is.

    No!! Dont reinstall it won't work. I've tried and it says the files are corrupt.....STILL!
    How am I supposed to get help?

    I, too, have this problem with the update client getting stuck on "elementskill.dll". Attempting to manually apply the patch, I receive the same error message: "Update files corrupted".

    Try to update with AV turned off.

    Im having the same problem... I've turned off Anti-virus protection and it still says files corrupted or something like that.. What is the next step?

    If the AV was on while the update, there's no point to be off when trying to launch the game. Try to turn it off while downloading the patch, installing it, and then launch the game. Many AV programs are detecting random files as viruses and they are blocking them. This is what comes up in my head, but as long as you can't run you can try it :) I hope that everything will be ok.

    Good thing i havent... i think im gonna try that downloading the patch with AV off... then as soon as its all downloaded i will run scans n wat not so make sure my computer is sitll safe b:chuckle
    hope everyone one gets it worked out...
    I just spent $60 and i dont want to not have access to it b:cryb:surrender

    I downloaded the manual patch n it worked that way, but before that i had the auto-patch goin n it was workin fine b:thanks

    I have tried running the update client with my firewall/anti-virus software disabled. The problem remains exactly as described above.

    I would you suggest you to try the manual patch with them disabled. However there is a risk of infection ur PC, so it's up to you.

    Unlike the rest of you, my patch has done successfully - but now im not able to log in.

    Rebooted the comp, turned off AV(also firewall) and final test is reinstalling PWI >_>

    I meant that whether I used the client or attempted a manual patch, the results were the same with or without security software running. Sorry for any confusion.

    Frustrating as this is, it's interesting to see different fixes working for different people. :-)

    You should wait for GM to give you link to the old patches. Therefore you will update to version 350 or higher and you will be able to apply the latest patch.

    In desperation, I tried un- and re-installing. No luck. The situation is the same as before, except now I'm stuck at:

    Game version: 166
    Updating files...
    elementskill.dll


    I've only gone to such lengths to successfully patch this game because I was really enjoying PWI, more than any other RPG I've played since Diablo II.

    a way to resolve this, i found, is to download and manually install the three most recent patches. from what i can tell, the client needs to go through the three patches when you download it.

    i did this and it worked perfectly for me. hope this helps you all.

    I tried that and it did not work, either. I've submitted a support ticket, though, so hopefully I'm still moving toward a solution.

    Who else is having inexplicable issues with version 390?

    I have this same problem. But im not sure about turning the antivirus off what if that messes up my computer? Also after the update could you turn back the antivirus

    Of course that you will turn in on again. Also did you tried the manual patch ?
