Attack power drops in half randomly

Over the last 4 or so days I've been having problems with my damage dealing.
I start attacking a mob around my level and sometimes I consistently hit for about half my usual damage. Then after 1 or 2 more, it goes back to normal.
This has happened on about 5 or so different types of mobs. No debuff has been cast on me and my weapons are in full repair. It also doesn't matter which weapon I use.
Haven't found any repeatable steps that make this happen, but have about a 50% chance it will happen when attacking.
It thought it may have something to do with the "Jones Blessing" that I recently started using, but doesn't make a difference if it is equipped or not.

Anyone else seen this?

    I hope your not looking at a crit dmg then comparing it to a normal hit...

    Since you were lv 6x that mean you were on Wraith Swamp right now ?
    When you were on water your damage is reduced and for venomancer their pet can automatically return to pet bag by them self.
    (If both target is inside water like on sea the damage is not reduced. I am not sure but it seem on place like swamps monster is not counted on water even if they stand on a swamp, while player counted inside the water.)

    Good call MoonUsagi, I have been in the swamp. I'll have to confirm with some testing, but it sounds like what may be happening.

    Yeah, Swamp sucks. Even if the mobs aren't deep at all it can still reduce your damage... your best bet would to be right on level with it, or lure it to land.

    when i played veno I alternated between using a sawfly to pull mobs to land, and simply flying around using the sawfly to fight the mob. The sawfly doesn't seem to get a damage reduction between air -> land attacks - plus it stays out all the time when you aren't standing in a puddle.

    When in water and flying your dealing damage is reduced, also fix your weapon
