I was wondering if aquiring Deicides for my sin, so that i will have 5 APS, is a good idea or just a waste.

Would probably be a waste if you can afford more intervals down the road. 2.5 based aps is one of the few if not only occasion where stating to fists will dramatically help your dps output (0.1 extra turns 3.33 sparked to 5.0 sparked). If you don't plan on staying at this attack speed and is working towards full interval, I'd suggest don't bother. You'll save the trouble of restating.

I'm actually wondering this myself. Deicides are the easy route for a sin to join the 5 aps club, as you can get 5 aps with HH 99 gold gear, lunar cape, and rank armor alone. With daggers that's only 2.86 aps (demon spark). Now, since daggers definitely have more damage per hit than fists, 2.86 aps is more potent than 5 aps if the daggers deal 75% or more damage than the fists per hit. Hypothetical: Daggers dealing 175 damage 2.86 times per second deal the same damage overall as fists dealing 100 damage 5 times per second.

I ran the stats thru pwcalc and came up with this:

    High Str Deicides
    High Dex Barrier Thorn

Str build with claws has a p attack of 5672-7361 sparked. Dex build with daggers has a p attack of 6918-9747 sparked. At 5 aps, daggers deal 27% more dph while fists deal 38% more dps. At +12 Deicides deal 66% more dps than HH 99 gold daggers.

Deicides actually deal 10% more dps than first cast nirvana daggers (3.33 aps vs 5 aps). With additional interval tho, NV daggers > deicides at 4 aps. Bearing in mind that Deicides alone are half the cost of raptures required to get NV daggers, it may be best to wait

... If you want to use Deicides, go make a BM.

    Simple as that.

Due to Inner Harmony, Rising Dragon Strike and Tackling Slash, sins don't need anywhere near 5 APS to have permaspark.

It has nothing to do with permaspark. I know a ton of people that have leveled sins exclusively for farming HH. 5 aps + bloodpaint + stealth wins

And you're somehow saying that it's impossible to do that with 3.33 aps or 4 aps?

I'd argue that farming HH with a sin would be far more useful using daggers because you can actually use your skills.

you can use any daggers to spam a skill and swap back to fists. he's not stating you cant with 3.33 or 4aps. he's stating you kill faster with fists than daggers.

killing faster = less time for a run = more money made for your time.
