No More Token of Best Luck Shouts Please

I know people have been complaining about this for a while now and I've seen arguments on both sides, but I'm so sick and tired of this...
If they want the shouts in, fine. But at least remove the Token of Best Luck shouts. 95% or more of the shouts are solely for these tokens. They may technically be rare compared to other possible prizes but when you consider the population of the server their discovery is far too common during a period of time where packs are actively being bought.
Furthermore, let's be realistic. If they're this common when packs are around, then they can't possibly be rare enough to be a noteworthy shout even when packs aren't around. If shouts have to be back, at least change the list to remove this item...
Hopefully someone out there is working on this right now and letting whoever has the ability to actually make decisions about this game know that there is a major irritation out there for a good number of people.
And no, I'm not trying to encourage those of you who like to surge up and protect the sanctity of the Duke shout. I could care less about him shouting, the game already spams me with red text for the Nien event and marriages. But neither of those is as frequent or distracting as the token shouts.

Ironic thing is, the shouts players wanted Duke around for? Haven't seen a single one since they unmuted him.
Pack related shouts that made people want to shut the Duke up? Oh plenty of those!0 -
Yeah, I read a thread that said that the Duke used to shout when a player got the Hercules or Phoenix pet and other random stuff that was apparently considered a big achievement. Now all he shouts about are having ridiculously good luck at spending money on the cash shop...

Anyone else also noticed a large increase in the amount of scammers trying to sell tokens of perfect luck for 4.6mil with the shop title "BESTluck4.6mil!" or other prices like that?
Theres about 10 of them in Raging Tides server in west district, one of them set up catshop on the auctioneer's head.
Yeah. You think with the amount of money they make from gold sales theyd be able to send a GM onto the game for FIVE minutes just FIVE minutes, have him walk through west district and ban all the scammers, its not hard.

On a different note, I don't understand why that when we asked for Wraith Attacks and other things to be announced, they ignore that and announce stuff from packs.

The reason scammers became more prominent in recent weeks/months when they died down a lot is since they added the Helm of Holy Punishment and Heavenrage Boots, which require more TOBL, and more people, thinking it's necessary to get, are purchasing more of them.0 -
The problem is it takes 5-10 minutes to screenshot and ticket each person. and theres atleast 10 people doing it each day, 50-100 minutes? Its not my job, its their job. And whats the pont when theyll just make new alts and do it again?0

Exactly, I agree completely. They don't even have to come up with a new design or anything just give it a different colour or use an icon which is already in the game for an item worth 5mil, that way people wouldnt be trying to scam it because both items are worth the same.
Still, the best solution would be to have an admin go on the server for 5-10 minutes and ban the scammers, it wouldnt cost all that much to do, its not hours of work and it's not hard either. its pure laziness and disregard for their customers and their product which stops them doing it.0 -

I haven't really looked into what the Best Luck tokens are possibly used for. Didn't even know people were scamming them, really. I just really want the shouts to go away...

More shout more people wanted packs. (i guess that the sales strategy)
- Entice player with average wallet to purchase gold
- The rich merchant & cash shoper will buy more pack (to sell or use)
- Player that can't earn good amount of money in game but also don't want to use cash shop, might want to gamble what they have. To become instant rich or instant poor.

Then why doesnt duke shout out any of the more valuable prizes? Best luck tokens are horrible. He only shouts for them and occasionally blazing tempest (which is really rare and cant sell for much). If anything, Duke has discouraged me from ever buying a pack.0

this, yes. i'm not usually a gambler anyway, so packs don't really appeal to me --- but the prospect of getting a booby prize, and having the whole damn server TOLD that i just got a stupid booby prize from gambling, completely turns me off the whole concept. if i ever want/need one of the really useful things a pack might have, i'll just have to buy it off the AH or the cash shop directly to avoid having duke name and shame me a hundred times over first.

When Duke shouts first came back, I was happy, and told people to stop complaining because I, like many others, apparently wrongfully assumed that the shouts we actually wanted (ie, Wraith attacks, races, etc) would have been implemented, but...How long has it been? And I haven't seen a single shout other than what "this" lucky person got.
Now, I'm still not really annoyed by the "red spam" (mostly, because people -do- often exaggerate how bad it is at any given point of the day), but I am annoyed that the only thing Duke shouts now, is NOT what we wanted him to be shouting again.Katzyn, level 101 Demon Veno

Maybe time to stop trying to voice your opinion on forum, it's listened to, but implemented elsewhere. Voice your opinion with your wallet. If you don't want the shouts, stop buying the stuff.

The problem is that neither you or I can read Mandarin, so we don't notice that the words written on them are completely different. They could probably help out us illiterate westerners by making them a different colour, though.

I think that's part of the problem... We shouldn't have to wait for pack sales to end for this kind of ridiculous spam to stop. Someone really needs to do something about this but the only person I've seen with any power on this board of any sort is that administrator on a few posts. He/she closes things, moves things, makes commentary sometimes. I have no idea if he/she actually has a way of getting information to anyone of import though. I would -imagine- it would have to be the case.
So hopefully this thread gets enough attention to make something happen. I know that browsing the last Duke thread I saw (and I admit to not going through all of it, it was very long) the only comment I saw by him/her was that some time was spent on one of the servers and over a thirty minute period there were not that many messages to suggest it was out of control.
The problem becomes when people who spend a great deal of time on these games DO notice those periods where the messages become ridiculous. Servers have different high times and low times...
I would think that enough people complaining not just about the shouts but also about the content of the shouts should indicate a serious problem with the re-implementation of this. I was never around for the original shouting, but I've read enough to know there were parts of it that people seemed to like and parts they did not.
It shouldn't be too hard to figure out what the majority of the players want and make it so...
If they have doubts on whether or not these sentiments really do reflect the majority, they should find a way to confirm such before ignoring or trivializing the concerns and complaints of some of their more vocal players who actually choose to say something on the subject. And the truth is if the vocal ones are all of a certain mind, then statistically the odds are the silent ones are as well.

The funniest thing about these Tokens of Best Luck shouts is that there have been so many posts in the past about the role these tokens are playing in ruining the economy, and that packs can stay but Tokens of Best Luck should be removed from them. Now we can see exactly how many of these are being brought in. Kinda rubbing it in the faces of those who care about fixing the economy.
It was disappointing to find out that none of good announcements came back, like the herc/nix ones, wraith attacks, races and my favourite (and still missed) new day announcements.
