A picture of what exactly?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Didn't get the rest of it, but apparently I am the "destroyer of sin haters" as well.0 -
Its a very nice beginner guide indeed, i'd say till lvl 80-89.
After 90 when u start getting - interval gear and see ha go down pretty quick, ull stick with dps instead of spike damage.
I love chill of the deep, and still use it against arcanes and la, but - interval against ha is much easyer.
Just as an example: I just have some crappy lvl 80 green tt -0.05 interval +3 1 beuty shard daggers and - 0.05 interval wrists and with those i can take down a barb of my same lvl in less then 8 seconds (from the moment on wich i start attacking ). LA and arcane on the other hand, can be killed in less then 5 seconds with chill of the deep ( god bless the 1 shots b:laugh ) so the thing is to learn to use all in the different situations, instead of generalizing.
I used to think in lvls before 85 that -interval lvl 90+ assassins were bm wanna be fail assasins, untill i hit 90 and started using some -interval gear , and i tell u , i love it, and i do still use chill of the deep.
I just wish they made it in a way that u could shut it off and activate it when willing so that u can really adapt to any situation or that they made a " heet of the deep" lol that inreased ur atatcking speed and reduced ur attack lvl (kinda like white and black vodoo of psychics, if we could alternate between fast dps with one skill and moove to slower spike damage when wanted).
Cnclusion: very nice guide, shourely efficient till lvl 89. (for pve, i do recommend not using chill of the deep, especially not in tt or in other boss killing istances).
Nice work.0 -
OKAYYYYYYY someone needs to step in and correct most of you. SOOO I believe I will.
First off - Sins, are the most difficult class EVER.. They're the most squishiest class for PVE Since they have no Self healing skill at all.
Blood Paint - Level 1 and that is it, unless PW makes an increase, then your a fool to raise it past lvl 1.
Deaden Nerves - I suggest Keep level 1 until You basically have all your other Most Important Skills Maxed. Both these skill heal you, yes.. but blood paint only saves maybe a FEW HP pots...? it wont ever Save you tho. It does not heal enough, you will always, ALWAYS need hp POTS for PVE Unless you roll with a cleric all the time, unless you Cash shop and buy HP charms like a mother !@#!er but we're talking about "the people who play for free and legit"
I have leveled a Sin up to 60 Legit and as I read this whole guide I could not help but laugh.
When you pve you only need to use 1-2 skills per mob and that is it. Other wise you will spend Money like CRAZY not only on HP pots but on MP pots too. No matter how little the Mp cost is.. you will rank skills, and MP does go up. So do 1-2 skills then normal attack it from there, once your about? 45-50+ then maybe you would want to keep it at 2-3 skills a mob, but that depends on your playing preference.
There is no "best" combo to use for pve at all, just about anything works.. spamming skills to kill 1 mob you will find your self spending double the money for MP pots nearly, and then when its time for learning your skills, you will go !@#! me, I'm broke.
Something you never mention is.. Sins need about 90% of there skills, up to max. your looking at the most expensive class to play, besides Veno's. Veno is only considered really expensive is because of the legendary pets, Herc+Nix.
The skills you mentioned that from what I can tell, you say we should get as a Beginner..
Twin Strike - When Demon/Sage comes out, if they make a Huge increase from I think max is? 783 if it goes 2k + then I suggest you get it.. but TBH even then.. its not worth it. You will get better skills that are far stronger and more useful and in the end, its a waste of Coin and SP
Puncture Wound - ONLY GOOD FOR PVE! For boss killing.
Slipstream Strike - you said its a waste of MP and SP? ARE YOU HIGH ???? the dmg output is more than worth it.
Raving Slash - USELESS completely for PVE and PVP.. when you pvp and your opponent runs and gets away and you 60+ then your a FAIL **** SIN and you need to either fix your self, or play a more simple Class. For PVE.. Tackling Slash is all you need for kiting Mobs, Do it, do anther 1-2 skills and then by the time its about 70% dead.. they don't run anymore and.. tackling will of worn off by then unless your completely FAIL
MAYBE good for Bosses if they KITE.. but... waste of money + SP and your time.
Shadow Walk - it does cost a lot of at FIRST once u max it tho? its mp cost is not that bad, and more than worth it. for PVE good for sneaking up on Ranged Monsters, and for PVE heh.. u would fail at pvp without it. Also good for running through FB's and stuff.
Basically Scouting..
Wind Push - You said its not very Defensive,.. its very Defensive if you need to escape from Mobs that aggro all at once till you can shadow escape, OR escape from someone trying to PVP you.. it is a skill I suggest you get to at least lvl 5 any more is up to you.
Deep Sting - Can I slap u? the comments you wrote about this skill are so pathetic its sad. First off this is one of your most important skills, GREAT for escaping a Monster that is about to kill you, GREAT for nearly Stun Locking with a sin (which is nearly possible if you are any good, considering I lock anyone who try's to run from me, and I have not yet been owned by a BM who can stun lock, but cant stun me at all since I keep them locked from attacking or moving) "takes to much chi" you do realize with all our chi skills put together + maxed chi we literally have about 9 sparks? And this was was a sticky? LOL?? please, don't post info about skills unless you have them all MAXED and tested them out in every possible situation.
Focused Mind - Pvp only enough said. Oh, and this skill you wanna get after u get 60+ if you are gonna be mostly PVP considering SINS are PVP based class..
Knife Throw - Keep lvl 1 After you get ur most important skills, then I would get it like.. lvl 5? or if really be safe max it after 7x
Rib Strike - This skill is 50/50 PVP and PVE .. PVE because.. it mite cost a ton of mana, but its worth it to put on bosses, and some mobs.. for pvp.. you want this for SINS.. and BARBS.. and BMS but.. maxing it.. I wouldn't
Sharp Observer - Honestly.. Pointless here is why. Both shadow walk skills, +10 stealth + Cat-like trade +20 + current level soo
lets say...
lvl 70 +10 for shadow walk that's 80 + your passive catlike that's lvl 100.. so anyone under 100 cant see u besides sin's.. if they maxed awareness then Cat-like is canceled out, that's still +10 more stealth than your awareness soo lvl 1-79 cant see you.. if your lvl 70 (even tho u need to be lvl 74 to max both passives but, this is an example) Only use it has.. is.. seeing someone who is lower lvl but stealth would be over ur awareness lvl.. so lvl 90 sin would want it to see lvl 80 sin's or under.. but.. does it matter? 8x sin pwns a 9x sin, is not really that common unless you're a fail **** sin.
Tackling Slash - PVE + PVE max NO questions asked.
Throatcut - Pve.. has its uses pvp, not worth it, keep lvl 1.
Chill of the Deep - I cant tell you what level I would get this too, it needs to be tested TBH.. but.. ITS PVP only and PVP MUST THE MOST important skill if you ask me.
Maze Steps - MUST FOR PVP if u cant STOP their attack like there stun, use it so you cant be stunned, Keep lvl 1 not really worth it after that.
Earthen Rift - MUST if ur PVE
Rising Dragon Strike - PVP MUST MAX IT Good for Spark Spamming on bosses for PVE
Subsea Strike - PVE MUST! and MAX
Headhunt - PVE MUST AND MAX.. good dmg for PVE like boss DD
Power Dash - EHH not worh the money and SP .. don't get unless u just want it..
Inner Harmony + Shadow Teleport, Max both over time PVP MUST
I will POST more comments LATER.. but dude you need to rethink your guide.. and maybe some of my INFO will help you. you gotta realize.. the first 2 skills u can get are a waste..
lvl 1-20 - Is soo easy all you have to do is normal attacks or use Slipstream as an opened then Normal attacks to finish...
21-60 - You will die a lot, I wont lie, you will not have any money for skills, that u get from quests or grinding mobs, you will have to work 5x harder almost to keep up. I suggest just pick the skills u really need for PVE up to about 4-6 of them.. couple of them are a must.. and stick with them until you hit 60.. then worry about getting the other skills that you need. Save money for Pots later on build ur money for skills.
Go ahead and QQ about what I just said, I really don't care, just show's your truly a KID and this was a pointless guide due to its incorrect data. Maybe go read others guides for archers, mages, BMS, etc.. and pick up some Tips on how to put things in a better way.
for example, explain what the skill is used for mainly.. like boss killing PVE PVP AOE parties, etc.. not say "offensive, Defensive, Speed, etc.." <-- pointless does not help at all.0 -
We have to learn to appreciate efforts... this guide isnt perfect, but the mistakes and personifications will be found out and made by yourself during the lvling of your assasin.
This guide, is nice, but like all guides it shouldent be followed by 100%, its a game, u do whatever modification you want or you like, the criteria might be eaven becasue one skill looks cooler to you. You having fun with it is what's important.
Find out what build u want to do with your rogue, and then test and lvl the skills that you find most helpfull to you, and have fun.
For further tips, or point of views ask ingame to a higher lvl assasin in your server, i am s houre most of them will kindly reply to your questions ( unless it doesent get too much hehe).

Yah but these Guides are usually meant to help new players and stuff, and if the INFO is wrong or not detailed enough, then why have it as a sticky and such?0 -
arff, thought i had pure build my assassin. now i see i have vit 26 str 51 mag 5 dex 153. im lvl 42. is this going to be tough when I have to go pvp eventually?0

No, your build will be fine for PvP. All the builds have their advantages and disadvantages. You will have slightly less damage, but more survivability.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

TL;DR
I did read some and i'll agree on the priorities in this guide (and when to use them)are jacked. However, For PvE you need very little skills:
Level 1 Bloodpaint
Level 1 Deaden Nerves
Level as you go Focused Mind
Level as you go Tackling Slash
Level as you go Rib Strike
you need nothing else. keep rib maxed, keep tackling maxed, keep focused max. dont use CoD, swing away at your target. you wont need pots if your pure dex more than what you pick up off the ground from mobs. even non-cs sins wont have a hard time with this as they can find in the AH just about every legendary dagger someone else used and pimped out will be selling for cheap now.I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0 -

nothing else - just like snorm03 say lv 21 to 60 is hell you need many pots, regen item like life powder, or heal from genie.
you wont need pots if your pure dex - because of pure dex before lv 60 sin many pots or healing
even non-cs wont have a hard time - -_- the chance to died much more bigger as non cash shopper since sin is squishy melee and before lv 60 sin can't depend on bloodpaint to sustain the hp
So before lv 60 pve as sin is pain full. (if solo without help, using cash shop, or making remedies)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

i actually LEVELED my sin. i didnt oracle. i didnt hyper it to 89. if i did i'd be 101 like all these others.
21-60 was not a problem for me. i did use life powders occasionally but not so much after mid 30's
i completely depended on bloodpaint pre-60 to keep my HP up. from 10-30 i did use quite a few life powders, but they are easily farmed and take no time to make/gather. if i got low on HP i would shadow jump to my target, tackling slash (occasionally casuing him to be unable to attack, sometimes rib strike, swing away. my HP would end up full again. if my HP was >50% i would just run up and tackling slash, rib strike, close in and swing.
i never had to buy pots from the apothecary or shops. i used only what i got from monsters and the 100 you get from the supply stash. it wasn't until my high 70's i actually used the last of the supply stash MP ones. the HP ones lasted until i was almost 50 in which i had already stockpiled a good amount of level 40 pots.I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0 -

Aclucius - Lost City wrote: »Assassin's are not meant to (naturally) wear the heavy helms. If you are worried about HP, go full Vit build and you will always have more HP from this than you will getting the helms for their HP.
You can go full Dex from here out, but that just means you wasted 5 points on Vit, as 10 Vit isn't going to be much better than 5 Vit. If you want to go full Dex, I would suggest you first get your Vit up to somewhere between 25 and 50, and then go full Dex. This way your Vit will have a better effect for you, and you will be able to still go full Dex after. However, I personally have always liked the hybrid/Vit builds, so my personal suggestion from experience with Assassins is to stick to one of those, especially if you are new to the game. Full Dex is better for the veteran player and those who just want to do a lot of PvP.
look you wnna foces on dex as much as posible vit ceep it on the lowest and str keep it enofe for the gear mag same as str keep them close0 -
ArkToNE - Harshlands wrote: »This is the best example of people who don't understand the concept of playing Assassin. As I've mentioned in the guide, this class is NOT a fighter but a specialist.
Well, either way. In order to get attack level 30, you lose 100% of your attack speed, meaning your attack speed will just shoot through the floor at no attacking at all. Thus this is where skill spamming is necessary. You can claim attack level 30 is baloney, but it's 30% more damage. Skill spamming will ALWAYS do more damage than normal attacks and it's damage actually optimizes even more when you get Chill of the Deep. Even at level 1, Chill of the deep shoots your attack rate from 1.25 to 0.80.
Also, you can avoid spamming a lot of pots, yes. Then again, if you wish to play defensively, Barbarian is the better choice.
It really doesn't matter i am level 46 and i do like 7k crit when i use slips like 50% of the time it depends on your fightinhg style. i normally put on chill of deep and go rib strike> puncture> slip> normal attack. It takes me like 4 seconds to kill any monster my level and 35% of the time the monster misses so saves pot and i grind with ease.0 -
Legendadry - Harshlands wrote: »rofl dude. you said it urself.... dont lvl up shadow walk because it increases mp as u lvl it..... y else would i point it out xD? just get higher lvl adn play more then right a guide. imagine if u told us to lvl a skill that we really dont even need(i reckon u already have) wouldnt u feel just a bit stupid o.o?
fyi: only 1 build for sin and thats pure dex. 1 str and 4 dex every level anything other than that is dumb. You're not meant to stand there and take hits like a BM you're meant to kill quickly.
ya true but i am hybrid and i kill monster my level in like 4 secs0 -

If you Cash Shop, buy a scroll to reset your stats for Mag and fix it. If not, delete your character and create a new one.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

hi dude
First ; Nice guide . much info, long textes , very dettailed
But i disagree with the skill opinion
you don t need to lvl up your skills to max cause sins are fast-hitters (maybe just slipstream strike and puncture wound and rib strike and deep sting)
Because we are fast-hitters you don t need other skills because u will hit more and much then 1skill (example : ur charging for twin strike (isn t a good move) it wastes a lill' time but when u just hit him it go faster like on lvl 16 i was like twin strike hit = 489 but when i was normally hitting i cronometred that it took 3secs i hitted the double(maybe more)
so that's all i gotta say cause it's an awesome thing u wrote there
Cheers buddy b:victory

I'm a lvl 2 assassin and accidentally put 4 points into mag instead of dex... Will that completely **** me up? Should I just continue on or start a new character since I'm such a low lvl?0 -
