Completely New - Need Help Choosing Class

From your experience, from any of you of course, what do you think would be the "best" class to start out with? if it doesn't really matter and depends on my liking then I would have to choose assassin.
However, games aren't that simple are they?
These are the areas I'm concerned about:
No cash items
Level well
Be able to Boss/Mob/ anything to do with monsters ( PVE is player versus enemies right? so creeps?)
Spend very low gold, this is my first character after all
And of course, enjoyable all the way to level 105(higher if it raises).
I did a lot of reading already however, I think personal experience would be best to help me decide
Okay, so from a few replies, I will put up my preferences/play style:
I like playing a game slowly because I have other things to do, however I really like powerful stuff and like to be accepted by others. If i play alone, what's the point of a mmorpg :P. That is not to say that I must depend on others.
I hate walking/running. I wish I can just keep on teleporting. I like high damages.
I have bad experience with spell casters because I somehow hate spending pot for mana... however I guess HP pot is also a concern.
So I'm pretty lazy and I want a good character, looks like I'm spoiled but I really like playing an online rpg once in a while, getting away from real life :P.

this is impossible to answer, as it depends too much on your personal preferences and playing style.
any class can be played without cash shopping, but you'll have to make do sometimes.
any class can level fast if you know how to play it, or if its "best suited" play style just happens to match yours.
PvE is player versus environment, so yes, creeps. any class can be put up against bosses... but not all of them can go solo against them. even those that can, can't usually do it easily or without having a few levels of advantage on the bosses. this is by design, as a way to entice you into squadding with other people.
you don't have to spend any gold if you don't want to. i've spent a total of $20 USD, and that was for convenience only; i could have played on without it, easily.
enjoyable until endgame? i couldn't say, i haven't got there yet.
... all that said, i'll recommend venomancer. it's easier to solo more of the game, less costly counted in in-game coin, tends to accumulate more coin partly due to the lower costs, is very flexible and can accommodate many different play styles, and tends to level well because you can keep grinding away at quests and mobs almost nonstop for extended periods. it suits my playing preferences, but without knowing more of yours, it might still be a bad match for you.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -
Be able to Boss/Mob/ anything to do with monsters
No class can solo bosses in Perfect World, except for a few of the early ones, and a few more once there's a huge level gap in between. Venomancers can solo some more bosses IF they are equipped with some very very very expensive cash gear --- the Hercules pet along with it's associated skills.
All in all, Venomancers don't do bad with the other things, except maybe the fast levelling. They are the summoners, which means they have a pet that fights WITH or FOR them: you can always replace expensive gear with more of the "FOR" aspect and stay out of trouble.
Other classes will probably do well as well, but I'll have to leave that to someone else. Still, to my knowledge, the basic "no class solos bosses in a reasonable manner" still applies to all of them.Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng0 -
Thank you for the quick replies and recommendations. I have updated the first post for my play style and looks like venomancers are the way to go for new players? However I don't want to quit part way because I got rich or something good / bad happened to restart.0

the way to get accepted in a squad is to get a good reputation as a helpful, friendly, competent player. being in a good guild will help in finding squads, too. playing slowly isn't usually a problem, unless your guildmates are obsessive power-levelers or something, in which case that might not be the best guild for you anyway.
the way to be wanted for squads is to play a cleric, or a barbarian. never enough of those classes.
don't worry about getting bored quickly; if that happens, start another character in a different class and try out a different play style. i've got five myself.
every class starts out walking and running a lot, up until level 30 --- except the elves, who start out flying really slowly a lot until level 30. no helping that, except cash-shopping for faster aerogear, which few do that early on. luckily, 30 levels go by fairly quickly. teleporting's fine, but the teleport points can be spaced pretty far apart in many places.
venomancers are spell casters, at least the way they're usually played. they don't need to worry much about mana or HP past level 29, though; they gain mana/hp control skills that make them basically inexhaustible in regular grinding. but that's pretty unique to them, clerics and wizards do end up potting a lot.
one possible other option: archer. long-ranged fighting that can be --- probably should be --- played fairly deliberately and carefully, at least in the early game. not a lot of potions cost, once you get enough levels that regular attacks will kill the mobs in time. (there are ammo costs, but that's really not much, at least not early on.) powerful damage dealing attacks and skills, which experienced squads will know the value of. flying from level one.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -
Try all eight classes. See which of them you like playing the most.0

I think you should check blademaster forums, my alt hasn`t bought a single potion since lvl 29, quite the opposite, and he is 51 or 52 atm. Sure, you do need to have idea what you are doing and the levels to 29 can be quite hard but when you get skill called diamond sutra, it gets quite easy. And yes, you need to upgrade your gear & skills more often than venos for example but I myself find venos boring. Maybe the veno is the one for you, I`d still suggest checking BMs before choosing, those can quite fun also . I would suggest barbs as I find it the most fun class, just we are anything but cheap or easy to lvl and we don`t really deal damage until endgame=p.Trolling Sid since So Hot0

So far I've only played this psychic (and I love it) but I hear if you're going to play a grinding class you should go Venomancer. I didn't pay too much attention to the PvP classes but I think Archer was somewhere up there (don't quote me haha).0

venos are expensive as hell, they have to buy or farm for pet food and improve the pet skills, and buy herc (couse without it all people will think youre useless) and this is the MOST expensive thing in the game ever!
the most easy class should be: psysic or assassin
couse archers has to buy arrows,
barbs has huge repair cost,
cleric has huge potions cost (for mana),
wizards (is the most hardest class to play),
blademaster (pretty useless in earlier levels and not easy as well, and yes they need mp potions for each mob 1!!)Some Rules each PWI Gamer should know
1. Dont break this rules & no matter what: DONT TRUST ANYONE!
2. Dont pay wine or heads fee (like to get kicked after that?) b:chuckle
3. Dont borrow items (since when return gms scammed stuff?) b:embarrass
4. Dont use your password in faction-forums (like hacks?) b:fatb
5. Dont give your mats to the tt-banker (obvious, not?) b:beg
6. Dont wait for help, or heals, or any other miracles,... (for more examples just play pwi and you will hate the whole humanity) b:bye0 -
Venos are not expensive. Most pets eat pure water and it's pretty cheap. Or just buy a christmas tome for 500k and you never have to feed your pets / mounts anymore. I saved up for my Herc by grinding and TTing, it took me about a month (it was 65mil). Wasn't that hard. Venos are also one of the fastest lvlers, because they have no downtimes (don't have to buy potions, meditate or run to repair gear).
@Amencat: Psychics have to buy / make mana potions because they burn through mana so fast. Sins need HP food at lower lvls, and decent gear at higher lvls so they won't be too squishy.
Archer is also cheap, just buy the cheapest arrows for PVE, I buy 50k arrows on my Archer and it's enough for weeks! Archers also have to improve low lvl skills, so their skills are cheap and they keep some skills at lvl1 (like knockback). At high lvls, they need almost no potions. Archer is one of the cheapest classes (if not THE cheapest), IF played / skilled right. Plus they can PVE with crappy armor and a decent bow, mobs won't be able to reach them. My Archer is a lot cheaper than my Veno. xD
Wizard is not hard after mid lvls, and they don't have serious mana problems like Psychics. At low lvls, you just gotta kite mobs. Most classes are challenging to play in PWI at lower lvls. Wizards are very powerful at higher lvls.
Any class can lvl fast, depends on how experienced player you are. When I was a newbie, it took me 3 weeks to reach lvl40. Now I reach lvl80 in 3 weeks, because I know all the quests / places / mobs well (and we have goshiki quest chain and public quests now lol).[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=13464916031&dateline=1277125340[/SIGPIC]
