When should I start making armor?

I'm a level 22 and I suck at blacksmithing. I was wondering when I should start making my own armor and getting my smithing level up.

    start now, I started since I was level 5, at level 30, you have to take advantage of that. Make sure you get tailor up to level 3. Then save purified oils, cotton threads, coal, rough fur, rough lumber and high carbon steel, You need those to get to level 4 tailor as a quest which is expensive

    Go buy the pack in boutique. Don't have to farm stuff, just go to an elder and learn the skill.
