Offerpal: Scamming its way to the top since 2007

First things first, this isn't a complaint thread, more of an skeptical observation thread built upon research and various sources. Lets begin...

I, myself completed a number of free offers off of the offers page on this website. Mind you, none of them were paid offers, for I understand that these offers are scams within themselves and end up being more expensive than buying the zen in the first place.

However, what a suprise whenever I find this:

I understand that the quote offers are up to the insurers to decide if you actaully get the points, however, the rest are surveys and games which should offer points regardless.

Note that I included the same information for each offer, and confirmed the included emails, as seen below:

However, you may have noticed that three of the offers actually were confirmed. This is where things get interesting. Take a look at the OFFERS PAGE and you'll notice that The only offers that actually went through were those
UNDER 100 POINTS.
Those three were confirmed almost instantly, however...all of the offers for 100 or more zen, which you will notice that I completed yesterday and confirmed via email yesterday have yet one of them to confirm. Coincidence? Lets hear what others have to say about these offers...

One user complains about the selectiveness of the surveys.
What this means is that he/she submitted her information to a random company, which will then distribute it to random third parties, all without him/her gaining a single cent.

Read into this thread, and one is met with a sort of catch-22 scenario. These offerpal offers rarely ever work, however, if one COMPLAINS about them rarely ever working, their account is threatened.

Post 5 explains perfectly the folley of paid offers. Reeling you in with a good looking offer and then binding you to an inescapable subscription, it's almost a phishing scam.

    I have got 4000 zhen before from offerpal but yeah your mainly right the low ones go through quite quick but have done another two that was supposed to give me 3k zhen each that never paid out even though I did as required. Contacted offerpal about it three weeks ago still have no responce. I never lost anything never gained anything(apart from the 4000 free zhen) but wont look at there offers again.
    02/07/2011 - Lost paitence with PWI sold all my gear bought packs and wasted my coin till it was gone... goodbye PWI b:bye

    Well, drawing from me knowledge of these free offers.
    If you run some simple tests (find out which companies/offers don't "work", which do etc etc) you can make a method to pull quite a bit of monies from them.

    (like how me got about 10k+ of the game monies in another game, 100 game monies = 1$, in another game which basically used the same method. But that was a while ago yet me don't expect the system to has changed.)

    Such as the game download & certain "survey ones" (like which XX are you? *peanutlab* Spring cleaning guide *eversave* doing one makes it so any other from them won't credit you*, etc etc), they only credit it for the first one that you use from any specific site.

    Surveys tend to give a bit more monies then the free offers.

    booga booga booga, bleh me was testing out the control system humans use and it be....so....odd. D: how you guys manage to do anything? Doesn't allow for multitasking at all....>.> Although me suppose it be accurate with direct single paw control. o right, 30k zen. pew pew~

    A user of Jade Dynasty (another PWI Game) claims that OfferPal has a B- rating, a fact that is confirmed HERE. A rather low grade for a company intended to handle fiscal transfers.

    When I see the type of ads/offers they propose (Why would random people give you FREE valuable electronics worth hundreds of dollars instead of sellling them? What is with those stupid polls you can find for free in more serious (?) sites? etc.), I never wanted to take part in it, I don't trust such companies. But it's just me.

    The survey ones are mostly non paying to will lead you through ten diffrent pages then somehow bug out on the last page or demany you buy something.

    They have the right idea they just dont seem to monitor it to much and waiting 3 weeks for a reply to two emails to them is in no way acceptable.

    The point of this thread is that PWE quite simply needs to revamp their offer system (and find a more reliable offers service while their at it)

    Its the Perfect World Offer System run through OfferPal. I know that they don't own offerpal, read the thread. I'm saying that they need to find someone more reliable than offerpal

    EDIT: Preferrably someone with a higher rating.

    Meh B- be a decent enough rating.
    Also at least offerpal be rather easy to find your way around. Me could probably get a few hundred/thousand zen in a few hours.

    Me has had experiences with worse free offer systems.

    Not resolving complaints is much, much worse than the BBB not knowing how long someone's been in business. Yet Offerpal sneaks out with a B-?

    How long a company has been in business is a nonfactor at saying it is a good compant, However, how many even knew they were listed in BBB? I didn't until I just looked it up. I am also filing a complaint against them. Resolved doesnt exactly mean it worked out for the consumer either. PWI has had 2 complaints filed, I assume it may be many more now that people know they can file. A b- rating is still decent.

    A simple flaw be this:
    If you be more famous you be more likely to get a lower rating as the system automatically drops your rating based on how many complaints are filed. (So if you has 1,000,000 customers and 1% be unhappy in reality you be doing pretty good yet 10,000 complaints sent will easily drop your rating down at below C, or D, or F just by the sheer number of course they can resolve issues but seeing how this be online and it be probably clueless human children involved in the sending of complaints...)

    You have got to be kidding. Not all of PWI's player-base is a bunch of nitwit-twits. There's a difference between actually having that information to throw away and knowing how to do it, to paying for it straight up.

    Fact is, on every game I have been on that does this, it's always full of viruses, scams, identity theft scams, and horrors. it's the biggest, most irresponsible, horrid, ****-tastic, ill founded thing any company can do to their consumers. They KNOW better.
    Every time the BBB rating is bad, it's almost always right. And when it handles credit card numbers if that is anything less than good it's not to be used. They shouldn't be getting enough complaints to make a dent. Period.

    PWI should have a low score. People ask if joining this game these days is worth it and 85% of the posts are either a straight up no or a maybe, because of the zhen, the service, the automated replies, the lack of follow-up, the game itself, I'd be shocked if PWI had a good score. It seems to be that the only people who like the game anymore are die-hard 1-100 in 2 months rabid fan girls/boys; or they are just anywhere from 11 to 15 and haven't tried a better game yet, poor things...

    EDIT: I'll also note that your math sucks. one tenth of your total consumers whining wouldn't drop the BBB that much. =_=

    10,000 will easily wreck anyone's ratings. (Only way to avoid it/resolve it be to hire a large number of employees working strictly to handle BBB complaints.)

    If 30 theoretical hamsters were to submit 30 valid complaints (iono say...some vague situation involving online zen charging and delay in receiving amount.) then PWI's rating will easily drop down to a F for at least a day or more.

    These complaints concerned :

    OK, well everyone is talking about "FREE OFFERS" I did a few "PAID OFFERS" the first 2 went through fine, the third one didn't. I'm now under investigation for "SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY" and still haven't received any ZEN for a contract worth over $2100. Free offers are free offers, and as someone said, "You get what you pay for" but what about me? I actually spend hard earned money under the assumption that signing up for a pretty pricey service would allow me to get some ZEN in addition to the service.

    I've contacted Offerpal about 7 times. I'm simply being ignored.b:angry

    It still annoys me how the surveys of the day all seem to fail you rather quickly.
    HINT: If you get the question asking you what beverages you drink, the next questions will be regarding alcoholic ones, then you will be failed about 90% of the time. Other times, on a different survey, if you get a question asking you what kinds of snack foods you eat(Usually after answering a number of questions on a completely different topic) then you will automatically fail within a few questions.
    Some surveys fail you automatically if you are not some sort of Hispanic, others fail you if you do not have a specific number of children at a specific age range in your household

    But the biggest issue is when you take a full survey, then after submitting the final questions, it says "you did not meet the criteria, blah blah blah"
    This is flat out fraud. By leading you through a survey under the pretenses that answering the questions will get you paid, they successfully trick people into taking the survey, getting the information they want and the personal info on you that they can then sell for a profit, while they then simply place a "we're sorry, you failed" page at the end to make an excuse for not paying you. It is easy for them to do. All it takes is adding in a single set of "Fail" questions that are impossible to answer correctly, and they get away with it.

    Perhaps these "impossible questions" are why a cheat sheet answers guide yet to surface, even for a few of the surveys.
