Is it possible to change drop mode while squadded?

I'm sorry to ask such a noobish question, even sorrier because I'm sure it's been asked before, but 'search' really failed me here. I got an endless wall of posts with the words 'drop', 'squad' and 'mode' in them... so sorry for having only human patience and wanting an answer to this question.
Is it possible to change the the drops from 'random' to 'free' while squadded? If so, how? If not, how/when do you set this up?
Thanks for any input, and sorry if this is an old topic.

Boot everyone from squad, press T, then select Free Distribution and re-invite before 60 seconds is up.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0

No, it's not possible.
The only way is to disband the group and re-form the squad with the new loot arrangement.
Of course, this requires that everyone agree with the new arrangement...0 -
Okay, so out of squad mode is the only way to set it? (and of course agreed to, I'm asking because it happened in a TT with only friends that 1 friend was full bags going in and it was annoying waiting for his 'priority' on the items on the ground to be up for the rest of us to be able to pick them) but from what you are telling me, there was no way to fix that particular situation, as resquadding might have caused a reset (depending on lag and response). Anyways thanks alot for the fast answers.0

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe if you're inside an instance and everyone leaves a squad, someone's bound to be without a timer. If the person without the time starts inviting everyone back, the instance should not reset. And of course that person would have to set the mode to free before sending the invites.0

No, there's a way to fix that. Even if your squad is under random distribution, just have the person with full inventory drop something in their inventory on the floor, then pick up the "up for grabs" items on the ground. If a person drops something from their inventory and you are in a squad with them, you can always pick up that item and it will always go to you.0
