Animated Sig...

Okay so I have 2 pics here that I would like animated. I tried using GIMP, but the quality I got was really crappy and the animation didn't work eventhough I saved as a GIF so I'm confused xD if you can give me advice to fix my animation, or animate it yourself and send it to me that'd be great! (btw the animation works on my computer, but when I upload it to the forums it doesn't work and if I upload it to a picture hosting site then put the link to upload it in the User CP it says the file is too large)

    thought I should add lol... I want the pictures to fade into one another, so I want the one with the in game pic of my cleric to fade in over the drawn sig, then fade back out. It should kinda be like a slow "flash" I want it to come up then go away fairly quickly, but long enough to get what it is.

    My guess, the reason it won't show up her as animated is because it was made too big? It says:
    Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 195.3 KB (whichever is smaller).

    I could give it a shot to make it small enough but not sure... I'll try later today =)

    ah i completely forgot about the size requirements xD its 250kb the way I did it. but that doesn't solve the really crappy quality that I ended up with. that might just be gimp's fault though

    Yeah I was playing with it in photoshop too, it's not liking a good looking quality there either. I am not sure but it could be the colors used in it. So frustrating with the size on here sometimes. Of course, I was trying to make it smaller and you said gimp did that without resize. It must be a setting in gimp. Gimp and I have never gotten along very well. And in the end I got a protective order on it lol. So I can't help you there lol I can't even seem to get this one to work in photoshop though oO

    hahah okay :P thanks for the help though! I got a few more things to look into :3

    EDIT: got the file size to be smaller by only animating part of the sig, but the quality is still ****...
    Smaller Size (timing is a little off, didn't try too hard xD)

    I guess the ultimate animation I would like would be something like a flash of light and you see the pic of my ingame char, then it goes back to the drawn sig... lol if that makes sense
