Couldn't their reflect be toned down or chan time increased? They are such a pain for melee classes its not even funny. I've dieed alot there on bm and sin 1 shotted himself on those.... And I'm betting alot of the newbies have trouble with them. I mean, the reflect is ok, but with player's low hp vs mob's insane hp makes it abit unfair.

Yes they are tough for melee classes. I remember back in the day they were a Royal pain in the butt, but IMO thats good.

Mobs with Special buffs or Attacks teach you have to play your class properly and how to adapt to changing situations. Which is what alot of the current oracle/hyper FF run players miss out on.

I died a few times on the Boa's myself, but makes you sit back and think what to do better next time. So Imo leave as is.

Assassins- Use a combination of Knife Throw, bow, Puncture Wound, Deep Sting, Throatcut and you can avoid a lot of problems with them.

Blademaster- pick up your polearm and use a combination of Drake's Ray and Farstrike. If you are a Fist Blademaster, just grab a bow, you do about the same damage anyways.

Didn't get the rest of it, but apparently I am the "destroyer of sin haters" as well.

Hmmmm I remember those, I died a few times back in my days, I think when you see the reflect buff, you can just stun it or run around a bit and let the reflect wear off and you can then you can continue killing it. (at least that's what i think I did)

Hit hard instead of fast and the reflect won't hurt you as bad.
Also when you see him casting it grab your bow, every sin should have 1 anyway

    Knife Throw

Is considered by the game to be a melee attack, go find a veno, duel them, have them put bramble on, tada, damage is reflected

    Easier test
have bloodpaint on and use knife throw at max range. You'll get a bloodsuck over your head as if you poked someone

    +1.

It's a pain I will not deny, but teaches you melee class how to handle such situations.
Where ranged or such combination might be a must. Good practice.

You know, if you really cant stand the snakes, you can always choose to squad.

I remember the towers around fb 69 was very hard for me. 1 mistake in timing or heal and I'll go down. But then I saw another barb, asked him to squad and we did the quest together.
Thanks Chillum for the nice Sig.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

no any ranged attack still reflects, including Drake's Ray and Farstrike as well.

Bow works tho. Another idea would be to try to interrupt the snake when you see them channeling I'd think; mobs are generally pretty predictable on when they'll self buff or debuff you.

Anyway if you think those mobs suck for melee classes, wait til you get to the magic only mobs later lol...the ones that cast and run because they lack a melee attack...

Hard is dangerous, if it casts reflect just as you hit it, hard has a tendency to drain your HP...
The reflect buff is FAST, like bramble, I tried hitting Esc when it casts and still get hit sometimes QQ

This doesn't seem to happen with boas... sometimes they cast it really early, sometimes twice, sometimes at the end and sometimes never O.O
run around a bit and let the reflect wear off and you can then you can continue killing it. (at least that's what i think I did)
Lmao yea this I did, twice... rest of the time i kill myself before atks stop

Grab a bow and gun 'em down. Poison didn't hurt nearly as much as punching myself in the face did, and with a decent bow they dropped reasonably fast. As a sin, you should have an even easier time, since you don't have to stop to swap weapons to apply Magic Marrow, and your higher bow damage and crits would drop them faster than I did. =)

Or just watch their HP better and save stuns/sleep/whatever for just before the point they'd start casting and shred 'em while they slumber. >=D

LOLZ just wait till later when 80% of your quests are for ranged casters. you build the skills now questing. BH has removed that so there's loads of noobs that can't play.

WEll, I'm just using bow since I have like 200++ Dex I can deal about 2k damage / hit...

.....much respect for people that still do quests now a days instead of hyper-ing to 90 in less than a week or two.

My lady and I always help lower levels with tough situations and quests.

We always played ranged classes so we never had that problem. And when she was on her BM I had my high level cleric take care of it while she followed. But like some said, just learn to adapt to the current situation at hand b:pleased

Quests can indeed teach you a thing or two about your class, which is something that I've noticed a huge lack of ever since hypers / oracles came to surface.

Lol i did the quest on my bm too...and wiz, and cleric, and veno >.>

On magic mobs later on, most of them will have a pattack, so it's easy to just interrupt their cast and resume fighting like it's a melee mob. On the ones that only have a mattack and kite...well you're **** out of luck and should probably squad with someone.

Very true, i think that those mobs like sac. assault, increased attack, increased magic attack, helps you think about how you fight instead of just double clicking for auto attacking, or just clicking your macro button to kill something, then complain when things are hard. They are hard for a reason, to make the game more interesting. For example, I hate Increased Magic resistance mobs because my normal human moves do nothing to it, so hmm... aha i have foxform + amp and sparks which kills the mob faster than me being in human form. If things were easy, then there would be no real point to playing the game, besides just getting to lv 10x.

    edit: necro ><

I find that completing your alts' quests are really the only way to get a true feel for their skills and how their game play works, even though it does become a pain to kill the same mob a zillion different times between characters, give or take.

confucious say: if punching bramble hurts don't punch.

there are very few mob kill quests that are actually required to advance, if one is giving you too much trouble to be worth the quest reward, dont do it.

I think that the point of not necroing threads is to not revive information that could possibly be outdated. That being said, this thread is still totally relevant.
