1: it depends very much on your character build and personal play style. getting fox form to really shine depends a good deal on high fox tree skills and good equipment, things you usually don't get very early in the game.
most venos at least start out by sending their pet to attack, using extra pet skills if and when possible, and themselves standing back in human form to throw magic attacks. fox form can be used whenever a fox form skill is particularly appropriate (amplify damage, say) or when you've specifically built your character to be a better fighter that way. the kind of build you tend to get when you're not really trying for anything else usually does more damage in human form, though.
your 1vit 1str 3mag allocation is good for survival if you haven't yet learned how to play the game very well; it'll make you fairly tough, because of all the vit. but once you get the hang of playing, you may find you've spent a lot of stat points in vit and str that would have served you better in mag. you might be better off with 1vit 1str 8mag every two levels instead.
your str allotment will mostly depend on what armor you want to wear. most venos stick with arcane armor, since most of us play mainly as casters; and AA only needs a str every other level. with one str per level, you're meeting the str requirement for light armor (although i think you'd need dex as well) --- but i almost never see a LA veno. most likely that build doesn't work very well, or it'd be more popular.
2: check the wiki.
3: sure you can. i see people doing that all the time.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -
1. Depends on what you want. IMO, can't answer that question.
2. IDK about a pet with high attack speed, try ecatomb.net? Not sure.
There aren't really much others, you can try for a water undine, but I personally don't bother getting one until I can get a Celestial Plumpfish.
Air= your choice. Depends on what pet, and there are a lot of them. Nixes, obviously, are a great choice but they're very expensive... people go for the Herc first. [Herc=land] Self predicting, I'd say some people would say something like, a Skatefish. But there are others like Foxwings, which I see some people have. I personally have Windwalking Piggy.

Thanks for the help,
i also got a question about Veno aoe's:
Are they realy usefull (thare are 2 (? i think))?
Or is it just a waste of spirit and coins?
And one about fox skills:
Are These Good, they all use Chi, how does this recarge (with hitting enemy's)?0 -

The two AoEs may seem useless at first, but if later on, you'll find AoEs are really useful for AoE grinding if you have a herc, or FC runs. Myriad rainbow in fox form is an AoE as well, but that is a special skill you acquire with lots of coins. Anyways, both Noxious Gas and Parasitic Nova are pretty decent. Noxious poisons the mobs and does high wood damage while Parasitic, although costly with two sparks, causes them to go chaotic where monsters cannot move or attack. VERY useful, because it can cause pretty high damage. Furthermore, sage version only costs one spark.
As for foxform, amplify damage and purge are both musts. Other skills should be looked into as well, such as leech and sage soul degeneration as examples. But no, foxform skills are not a complete waste.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thank you so much ForsakenX for the sig b:cute0 -
Well, about the 2 AoE's in human form:
Noxious Gas: I maxed it. Because it's good for grinding, throwing at bosses and such. It has some downsides, though, since if you use it for AoE grinding you gain aggro very fast (with a normal pet as tank, hercs gain back aggro very fast.../ don't lose it because of reflect)
Parasitic Nova: I left it at level 1. It's not that useful in my eyes and even that immobilising isn't that cool. It also consumes 2 sparks...
Fox form skills:
You're gaining very fast chi in fox form with normal attacks, also with healing your pet. And not every fox form skill consumes chi. Befuddling Mist for example (and Consume Spirit and Leech). The hp-leech skill is quite useful, as for befuddling mist, which decreases the accuracy of the enemy. Also "skilled" venos do use Amplify Damage and Purge sometimes in squads at bosses.
Skills like Malefic Crush and maybe Consume Spirit are nice for PvP. Same counts for the stun skill Stunning Blow.0 -
A venos power does not lie in helping oneself, but rather helping the squad. Our damage sucks, pure and simple, so when in squad don't focus on DD (damage dealing) A GOOD veno knows his/her role as a debuffer. Some examples:
Lending Hand: your spark does much more damage if given to another dd, don't spark in instances. give it to barb, or cleric if they ask for it, or DD classes if they don't.
Amplify Damage (foxform): ALL memebers of party do 20% more damage when used. Keep it maxed and spam it on bosses or on increased life mobs in instances.
Bramble Guard: if you're doing it right, you don't need it, but the melee classes in the squad do and will thank you for it. **do not bramble magic users or archers as the bramble will reflect damage to them and make it harder for the tank to take agro back.
Myraid Rainbow (lvl79 skill): this skill has a chance of taking bosses physical resistance (armor break) or magic resistance (mind break) to zero. Your already in foxform to amp, so use it then. I see few venos using this skill and I don't know why. High mana cost yes, but if the armor/mind break hits in conjunction with amp and extreme poison (genie skill that stacks with amp) then you are talking EPIC damage by the party.
Parasitic Nova (2 spark aoe): Probably won't really need it till 85+ when you do Frostcovered runs. But you will NEED it. Barb pulls 50+ mobs all at once. Parasitic nova makes over half of them freeze. Combine that with Myraid rainbow and a good number of those mobs now have no defence agains archer/wizzard aoe. Again EPIC damage by the party.
Purge: In pvp it erases your opponants buffs. In pve it isn't used often, but when it's needed, you'll be expected to have it.
Noxious Gas ("free" aoe): Again might not use it much till later levels in FC or when aoe grinding, but it is one of our highest damage skills. The damage just doesn't happen all at once.
Pets: you can use alot of different pets, and feel free to do so, but here are the ones i still use at 9x
Water: use whatever you can tame (don't worry about leveling it, just replace it with higher level water pet) there isn't enough water content in game to justify leveling these.
Air: Petite Sawfly or Skatefish are the highest damage air pets. They are a pain to keep alive (low def), but you will need one in the absence of a legendary pheonix if you do any kind of pvp (the flesh ream skill is a must for these. It does not suffer the same damage reduction as other skills in pvp. this means it really hurts.)
Land (tank): Crystaline Magmite or Glacial Walker. These are the best non cash shop tanks in the game.
Land (damage dealer): scorpian or dark wanderer. I actually don't have either. I use my magmite as a dd pet because he does more damage than herc and can steal agro (roar) and stay alive (tough) if the barb ever goes down in a squad.
Puller: eldergoth marksman. if you turn his skills off he throws rocks (ranged attack) and can often agro hard to get mobs from a distance without dieing
All around: Shaodu Cub. This pets main and only disadvantage is low damage and subsequent inability to hold agro BUT.... his small size (doesn't block your view in crowded instance) speed, Pounce skill (freeze), and very good def and Hp make him a good instance clearer and back up tank. Able to react quickly, able to take agro temporarily with pounce.
good luck[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Don't know what server you play, but parasitic nova is not useless. It is deadly in PvP/ PK at lvl 10.
And it is much needed in instances like FC and GV (FF and RB for PvE servers), as stated above.
It is well worth the money to lvl it.
The only time you don't bramble a cleric or wizard is in instances like FB's or Frost, etc. unless they are the tank. In TW or in a PvP squad you ALWAYS keep everyone in your squad brambled.0 -

Wiz's, Clerics, Barbs, BMs all have great debuffs: it doesn't make them debuffers. Also if you have sucky damage you probably have a sucky build. I have yet to notice an Archer or Wiz with less than +6 weapon hold aggro from me or out dd me.Lending Hand: your spark does much more damage if given to another dd, don't spark in instances. give it to barb, or cleric if they ask for it, or DD classes if they don't.
We're able to time our spark with our Amps making it not so wasted *if* we're not a fail build. Not all Barbs need chi like some. The only DD I care to send sparks to is the BM for Heaven's Flame if they're using it. There are occasions though where it's better used for Nova.Amplify Damage (foxform): ALL memebers of party do 20% more damage when used. Sage is 30% and can be annoying when a lower level veno overwrites it.
Myriad Rainbow isn't always a great idea. My Tangling Mire combined with a -50% pdef debuff should equate to an armor break only lasting significantly longer than armor break from Myriad. If Myriad's AB hits: it over writes the BM/ Barb debuff and can cause a loss of dps. Even at -90%, the duration makes it better.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

this veno just started and u flamed her with useless junk. 1st of all cursing her build cause she adds vit ??? rofl , ur pathetic.
cough cough, anyway dont pay attention in **** like that my friend, follow what the other venos told u and ull do great, As for ur build its ok , watch ur STR so it is not more than u need for armour and stop ur vit round to 50-60 for decent Hp and dmg / pet heals too.Proud Male Venomancer <

i think veno is more solo (lol with pet it is called solo but it isn't)
many people say venos are un-needed in a party

Why pass my spark if i can use a 2 spark aoe?0 -
