A More Thorough Guide to FB Runs

Abstract:

Hey everyone, since the other guide isn't very well organized, nor does it really go past FB51, I have decided to start a new guide to doing FB runs. This guide is more geared towards the tabber than the actual squad running the FB so don't expect a whole lot of do's and don'ts for experienced players. This is more of a barebones "What you need" and "What you need to get". Please give suggestions/corrections or additional comments and I will do my best to maintain this guide.

Discussion:

FB19:
Every race has their own FB19 excluding Tideborns, which have a weapon token quest to kill Qingzi at level 19. To complete the FB successfully, you will need to kill quest mobs within the cave as well as the boss inside of the cave. To kill the boss, the leader of the squad ( the person who's having the FB done ) must "tab" or accept the quest from the pillar at either the entrance or next to the boss.

Below are Sprite Locations for the Pre-requisite Spiritual Cultivation.

Human Sprite Locations: 544 901(22); 575 906(22); 595 894(22);
Untamed Sprite Locations: 354 669(22); 367 685(22); 374 648(26);
Elven Sprite Locations: 281 404(22); 292 445(28); 295 428(22);
Tideborn Sprite Locations: 680 178(24);

Wine ( Osmanthus ):
10 x ( Logs, Pig Iron, Sandstone, Coal Stack )

FB29:

Every race participates in the same FBs from here on out. FB29 is the shortest of the boss caves. To complete the cave, you must kill the Tower Guard which is located straight at the first junction. The Tower Guard can be ranged with no damage to attackers, however attacking the Tower will aggro the nearby lantern.

Boss Description:
Qingzi:( 35 ) Melee or Magical at Range. Alacrity, level 7 cancels his magic attack when spammed after cool down.

Wine ( Bamboo ):
2 x ( Rough Lumber, High Carbon Steel, Gravel, Coal )

FB39:

This cave is very difficult for most BH runs as it must be done slowly at low levels due to exploding mobs that hit for large amounts of magic damage, yet can be done much faster with higher levels ( 80+ ). FB39 requires three quests to be done before completing the cave:

1.) The Gate of Delerium:
Locate the Gate of Delirium at the Valley of Death. After you have found it, enter and defeat 5 Demonic Mossprites and 5 Hellish Reverexes, then report to the Celestial Recluse.
2.) Ghost's Mediation:
Defeat Hellish Terrawarth Magus, Hellish Terrawath General, and Reverex Carapace at the Gate of Delirium, retrieve the three books of Constial Meditation and take them to Heaven's Tear Elder.
3.) Brother's Sword:
The Nether Servants have stolen the statue's sword. They are hiding in the Gate of Delirium in the Valley of Death. Go there and retrieve the sword!

Boss Description:
Farren Serreti: ( 42 ) Melee at close proximity, Magical at range. The boss also has a powerful Physical AoE attack so any squishies should remain outside of the AoE.
Calcid of the Flame: ( 42 ) Melee at close proximity, Magical at range. The boss does not have AoE and contrary to popular belief, the boss does not "explode" when killed.
Hercule Trioc:( 43 ) Magical at both close proximity and range. This boss tends to run so the barbarian should run behind the boss to bring it closer to party members.

Wine ( Daughter ):
8 x ( Rough Lumber, High Carbon Steel, Gravel, Coal )

FB51:

Once again there are three pre-requisite quests that should be obtained before entering the cave. You will also only receive two tabs, this is because the first two bosses need to be killed before receiving the tab for the final boss ( Myriad Wyvern ).

1.) Call of Duty: Wraithbeast (Part 1):
2.) Sign of the Talon:
Enter the Secret Frostcover Grounds and retrieve 8 Windrider's Seals, 8 Talonwing Stamps, and 8 Talon Tokens. They are being held by Mistrealm Terrawarth Maguses, Feligar Mistrealm Strikers, and Hexocelot Mistrealm Warriors. When you have gathered the Signs of the Talon, take them to Talon Member Chao at Dragon's End.
3.) Avenger's Fury:
Defeat Rankar the Ferocious Ironskin and Fushma the Hexocelot Lieutenant in the Secret Frostcover Grounds.
4.) The Book:
Kill the Myriadtail Wyvern in the Secret Frostcover Grounds to retrieve the Host of Misfortune's book. Return to Talon Master Yu at Dragon's End if you survive.

Boss Description:
Fushma - Hexocelot Lieutenant: ( 53 ) Melee at close proximity, Magical at range. Fushma is just like a regular mob. It is important to pull him into the open space of the cave to avoid passing "walkers". Besides that, Fushma is probably the easiest boss you've faced since Qingzi.
Rankar - Ferocious Ironskin: ( 53 ) Melee at close proximity, no Ranged attacks. Rankar does have a deadly physical AoE which will interrupt BB. The strategy that I've been using lately, is to have all DD's that can use a bow, stay back by the psychics and let the psychics squad heal while the cleric holds the tank. As a side note, Rankar is VERY slow to walk through the cave, so it is important to seize every opportunity you have to lay the smack down on him.
The Myriadtail Wyvern: ( 54 ) Melee at close proximity, no Ranged attacks. Wyvern, like Rankar also has a powerful AoE but unlike Rankar, Wyvern's AoE does not interrupt BB. Clerics will usually pot heavily and run to Wyvern with the tank and BB as soon as possible. If the cleric waits for the Barb to have aggro before BB'ing, catastrophes could ensnare the poor squad (excluding those who can stealth). It is ideal for the cleric to charge in with the tank and BB because Wyvern has a Physical Defense Debuff which annihilates a lot of tanks who try with only Ironheart Blessing.
Note: It is said that if the barb turns Wyvern around, that the damage from the AoE is reduced. To my knowledge, this hasn't been proven and is as much of a myth as many other spoken stories.

Wines ( Fragrance ):
8 x ( Fine Lumber, Refined Steel, Rubstone Powder, Anthracite )

FB59:

Once again, and I think for every subsequent FB after 39, there are preliminary quests that need to be taken before entering the instance.

1.) Call of Duty: Sacredbeast:
2.) The Challenge:
Transcendence is the hardest phase of meditation. Life and death are the beginning and end of all living things. With meditation, however, one can bridge the gap between the spiritual world and the material one. The primordial gods have arranged great obstacles for those who intend to transcend the limits of life and death. The obstacles are presided over by the five sacred beasts: Zimo, Ofotis, Qianji, the Raving Drake Brute, and the Gluttonix. Overcome these obstacles, and you will find yourself on your way to becoming a Transcendent... Otherwise, in time your body will wither and die, and you will be forgotten by the mists of eternity.
3.) Heaven's Trial:
The Valley of Disaster southwest of King's Feast used to be a heaven for the meditators, but now it has been taken over by the Wraiths. It's said that the Tokens of the Elements were placed there by our ancestors. He who is capable of acquiring them would be blessed by gods.
4.) Mysterywood Fruit:
Retrieve 10 Mysterywood Fruits from Gilded Princess outside Tusk Town, and take them to Qinghua, Maker of Lightning in Valley of Disaster.

Boss Description:
Zimo: ( 65 ) Melee at close proximity, Metal attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics. Veno pulls Zimo down from cliff then Barb tanks. If there's no Veno, use a zeal genie.
Ofotis: ( 65 ) Melee at both close proximity and range. Standard mob-like characteristics.
Note: there have been reports of a glitch with Ofo, it is said that the boss is glitched and to only tab after 50% HP. To my knowledge, I have ran this FB many times and never encountered a glitch.
Qianji: ( 65 ) Melee at close proximity, Water attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics. It's best not to aggro the surrounding tortoises.
Raving Drake Brute: ( 65 ) Melee at close proximity, Fire attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics.
Gluttonix: ( 65 ) Melee at close proximity, Earth attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics.
Note: there have been reports of a glitch with Glutt, it is said that the boss is glitched and to only tab after 10% HP. To my knowledge, I have ran this FB many times and never encountered a glitch.

At the end of the FB, the tabber digs the pillar in the middle so if you are the tabber, don't leave the squad.

Wines ( Chiennan Spring ):
10 x ( Fine Lumber, Refined Steel, Rubstone Powder, Anthracite )

FB69

Preliminary Quest: The Wraithgate ( 20/20/20 )
The Wraith Hunter at Whetstone Keep wants you to enter the Wraithgate and slay 20 Taurox Captains, 20 Deadmarch Soris, and 20 Deadmarsh Adalwoves.

You must go into the cave, and kill at least 10/20 of each mob. Then when you are finished, you must reset the cave and go back to complete the quest ( get 20/20 of each mob). Note: The Sori's are abundant and easy to find, whereas the Adalwoves are the rarest mobs to kill.

Other Pre-quests:

1.) Retrieve the Mail:
Hu, in the Wraithgate, has asked you to retrieve an important letter that was taken from him by the Serpentrex deeper within the gate. Return to Hu when you have retrieved the letter.
2.) Key to the Altar:
The Wraith Hunter at Whetstone Keep wants you to kill the Noxtouch Culler within the Wraithgate and return to him with the Key to the Altar.
3.) Emerge Again: (sequential quest from Key to the Altar)
Dig the pillar where the Noxtouch Culler was located.

4.) Call: Underworld (Part 1 )
5.) Call: Underworld ( Part 2: Into the Wraith's Gate )
6.) Kill Resentful Pyrosteosis:
Spiritual Cultivation Quest to kill the first Boss in FB69. Be sure to dig the pillar after killing the boss.

Boss Description:
Resentful Pyrosteosis: ( 72 ) Melee at close proximity, Fire attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics.
Damned Gaurnob: ( 75 ) Melee at close proximity, Water attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics. VERY Powerful AoE which I believe works well with level 7 Alacrity of the beast. If you're a squishy, stay back.
Cenequus Polearm: ( 75 ) Almost same boss as Gaurnob.

Mini-Boss Description:
Serpentrex: ( 71 ) Melee at close proximity, Water attack at range. Standard mob-like characteristics.
Noxtouch Culler: ( 69 ) Melee at close proximity, Wood attack at range. Powerful poison AoE as well as a slow casting time AoE. The boss is hard if you're solo'ing, not so hard if you're in a decent squad with a cleric.

Wines ( Ancient Well ):
10 x ( High-Grade Lumber, Steel Alloy, Corundom Powder, Charcoal )

In order to make it a little more informative, I would like to make the attack more specific with the element and type. All bosses hit you with melee physical attacks at close proximity, so I will stick to the ranged attacks. Also the ranged attacks are specific to targetting the tanks which is different from the AoE that they cast after a period of time.

    FB39
Farren Sereneti - Physical at Range, Physical AoE

Calcid of the Flame - Fire DoT and Bleed at range

Hercule Trioc - Metal Attack at Range

    FB51
Fushma - Earth Attack at Range

    Wyvern - Physical at Range

    FB59
Ofotis - Wood Attack at Range

Raving Drake Brute - Fire DoT at Range

Gluttonix - Fire DoT at Range

    FB69
Gaurnob - Physical at Range and Water AoE attack.

Polearm - Same as Gaurnob but uses Armour Break more generously :P

Undying Hornshell (or whatever is the name of the turtle before Nob and Pole) - Metal Attack at range

    FB79
Stygean Quartermaster - Physical at range

Hooli, Linus and Brigand - Fire attack at range

    FB89 Heaven - Eden
Thousand year Spirit - Earth Attack at range

Ninetail - Fire Attack at range

Phlebo - Earth Attack at range

    FB89 Hell - Brimstone Pit
Ethereal Abomination - No Ranged attacks and comes and bites you like no tomorrow

Demonic Vexation - Similar to Acephalids in that they have both Physical and Magical attacks with no elemental affinity at range

Fats - HP Drain at range.

It's always astonishing to see that guide writers still haven't learned to provide even the most basic information --- such as the range of the AoE that we are supposed to stay out of. Sure, nobody knows what "1m" is on the screen, but we should all be able to compare the ranges on our spells with any numbers given...

Granted, I might try the Eldergroth next time I try FB39 which gives me a great range bonus, but still...
Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng

This guide is meant for a "Before you enter" and "what you need to know." Not how to kill the boss. People running the FB should already know that.... I hope b:chuckle

note that you should not wine any FB before fb59

and wine every fb after it

59 itself is fun unwined, a squad with 90+ people should be able to do it in no time unwined
    so unwined 59 OKIES
another note: any class can tank all bosses in 59 at lvl 60

69 NOOO GOOD *leaves squad* wine it!
    79 same there

89 Brimstone (Sage Cultivation) is a pain with all those spell-canceling, channeling-slowering, physical aoes
i wont do that one unwined again lol

89 eden (Demon Cultivation) is ok though

99 needs no explanation, you should be able to get wines and know how fbs work by now... just move carefully and dont fall off the cliffs in Seat of Tornment (located in heaven), you gotta run all the way back to your squad again b:chuckle

I got that already ^^. Can't remember though if Farren has Magical range attack. I'm pretty sure i've seen him casting an earth attack before at range.

Kinda strange that I started writing my own FB guide, only to check the forums and find out that a more comprehensive guide is already in the process of being written...

Good job so far, but you've still got a ways to go.

EDIT: Bumped to try and remind others that this actually needs to be done.
The old guide is outdated and kinda lacking imo

So it's not really letting me edit the post so i may just redo the whole darn thing. Especially now since i've finished FB79 and kind of understood how it was done. Still need Preliminary quest names for FB89 / 99 etc. I may start taking videos and screenshots if people feel it'd be helpful.

    nice.
my only comments come from a tideborn's point of view XD
the weapon token quests are totally unrelated to fbs

instead of fb19 tideborns get a quest to kill a boss in a cave
it looks like a fb but a)doesn't have mobs b)there are no tabs (poor tideborns!)

There is but it is different depending on whether or not you are demon or sage. Just like fb89

    FB29
    Qingzi - earth at range

    FB39
Farren Sereneti - Physical at Range, Physical AoE
Farren also has an AOE channeling debuff.
Calcid of the Flame - Fire DoT and Bleed at range

Hercule Trioc - Metal Attack at Range
    Hercule has no melee attack.

    FB51
Fushma - Earth Attack at Range
Fushma has no melee attack, he's an archer doing physical at range always.
    Wyvern - Physical at Range
Physical AOE at range. Also has an increase damage curse (not sure if this is ranged or melee range.)

Rankar has short range physical and long range interrupting fire AOEs, but will always close to melee (may fire off AOEs while closing.)

    FB59
Ofotis - Wood Attack at Range

Raving Drake Brute - Fire DoT at Range

Gluttonix - Fire DoT at Range

    Zimo - metal at range

    Qianji - water at range.

    FB69
Gaurnob - Physical at Range and Water AoE attack.

Polearm - Same as Gaurnob but uses Armour Break more generously :P

Polearm and Gaurnob also have short range physical AOEs. The water AOE interrupts.

    Serpentrex - wood at range

Noxtouch Culler - wood at range
