    No, it's not better, especially since it often brings up out of date information. How long it took to download in 2008 (when this thread was started) isn't likely to be the same in 2010.

    See also the "PWI Community Forums: Rules of Conduct v1.0 - read meh!" thread which states:

    Internet epic lagged at home downloading, was at 17kb a sec for like an hour, took to my grandparents and it was done in under 30 minutes.

    Mine has been downloading for about 2 and a half hours, and is on 35 percent.

    Took me 2-3 days by torrenting since the modem may act up and reset itself.

    Yea, i've got a some-what new laptop and a pretty quick internet. I'm at 28% and it's only been about 15 minutes b:laugh

    My laptop is brand new - this horrible internet connection is at 50kb per second... b:cry It's taking soo long.

    around 10-15 mins to dl and 10 mins for patching, net in my latvia is fast XD

    Took me like 10 hours. I have crappy internet. You computer speed + Internet speed decide the download speed. Dial-Up sure is a piece of sucky ****.

    I got the disk. It's free, so all was good. No download time and 10-15 minutes of installation. b:chuckle

    mine would download in like 3 hours but then it said there was an error and made me restart its at 14% now and im 17 percent done with second time its angering

    25 hours... Oh my god, I'm not even kidding. :-| I think that was in January of 2009. Then I moved and didn't have internet for over a year. Finally got bored playing Facebook apps the other day and started looking at all the icons on my desktop. Rediscovered PW among them and downloading all the patches took like 2 and a half hours. :-P But all the time spent downloading PW doesn't bother me now, 'cause play is quite fun :D b:pleased

    Rounded for me it was 45 min and use the installer made by made by perfect world it uses your connection to the fullest

    It took me about 20 - 30 minutes. My computer is fast and my Optic-connection (Fiber-glass) is 20/20 Bbps (Mega bits per second...).

    And speed of your computer doesn't really change the download time. -.- The difference betwen 20 mins and 20 hours is mainly your connection speed. (You can check connesctionon http://www.speedtest.net)

    Now I don't feel so bad taken me 2 hours to download 150MB off of my new laptop with 4GB memory and 320GB HDD. I thinks it's like a 5GB file which is about 5000MB so you can see I've got a way to go, lol.
