I tried doing a search but came up with nothing.

I hear people talking about getting -channeling gear for their venos to help with healing their herc.

My question is this- How does minus channeling work exactly?

I mean I know it's supposed to make your heal faster or something like that right?

But I did see in a post where someone said -channeling had nothing to do with cast time.

And I see how the spells say they have for example a 1.5 sec cast time but then it also has a channel time? What's the difference? What does this mean?

Sorry for the newbish question. I'm just a little confused.

-channeling gear makes the channeling time of a spell faster.
You have channeling time and cast time. Channeling time is the blue bar you get to see when you click a spell. The cast time is how long it takes actually firing off the spell(after the channeling).

It does help healing pets, but you wont really notive much difference untill you have about -20% I heard. (Don't take me on this one, I have no experience in stacking -channeling gear)

Per example venomous scarab lvl 10 has a channeling time of 1.5sec and a casting time of 1sec.

If you stack per example -45% channeling your spell will take 0.9 seconds to channel but still 1 second to cast.
this applies for all your spells, so because of channeling going way faster, you will be able to heal faster too, thus helping to keep your pet alive :)
