I was doing some questing South East of Archosaur, when I had to go to the nearby outpost to bank up and repair. During my questing, there was a lot of General chat about an assassin PK'ing people who were also in the area doing whatever they were doing.

Seems this Assassin was waiting for them to either be gathering or already in combat before he pounced and killed them. That's what happens on PvP servers, I'm not bleating about the fact that he PK'd someone, especially as the people he was PK'ing were around his level, so that fact that he PK'd people is not the problem. My problem with him is twofold, first:

Did the people he was PK'ing annoy him in some way - Nope
Did the people he was PK'ing interrupt him during farming in any way - Nope
Were those people taking Apothecary mats that he wanted to farm himself - Nope
Did any of the people he PK'd attack him first - Nope

So as far as myself, and the others in the area were concerned, he was just making himself an annoyance for the sake of it, without rhyme or reason behind his conduct.

Anyway, when I got to the Outpost to Bank and Repair, this Assassin comes up to me and Whispers, "Can I hug you for Chi". I'll admit, I wasn't sure what he meant, so I asked him to explain. He says I should accept his invite so that he can replenish his Chi quickly so that he could go back out into the fields. Now I understood what he meant, so I replied to him, "No, I politely refuse as you have been PK'ing people for no reason and have become an annoyance".

WOW, did I get an earful in reply to that one. This guy sent me Whisper upon Whisper about how much of a Sh**t I was and he even passed doubt on my legitimacy as a human being. His tirade went on and on for quite a while, until I Whispered back to him, "Look, you are annoying me now, please add me to your Blacklist as I'm welcoming you to mine".

I'm not saying this person is the norm for the PvP servers, in fact in my experience, 90 per cent of the population on Harshlands are fair. But this guy just couldn't understand my point about him. I don't like people who pounce on others just for the fun of it, especially when he has Stealth and his victims have little time to react or produce a fair fight. In my opinion, my refusal to allow him to replenish his Chi was acceptable, and I gave him fair reason why I refused. His tirade of abuse, in my opinion was uncalled for.

As a side note, I used my flying mount to hide in the trees above the part of the zone where others were questing or gathering, primarily where this guy had been PK'ing. He was one level above me. I had my flying pet Sawfly out, and I waited for less than 5 minutes before he came out of stealth, almost right below me, to PK a Cleric gathering apothecary mats. I targetted him, and sent in Sawfly, dismounted, changed to Fox Form, Purged him and Amplifed Damage on him, then back to normal form and Ironwood Scarab and Venomous Scarab. Unfortunately, the Cleric died, but I got the Assassin. No idea how he felt about that as he was on my Blacklist, but there were a few Woot's in General Chat.

Awarded him the General Custer Award for Forward Thinking and Good Plans Gone Bad.

    Since when was, you know, killing people, actually an act committed by a gentleman? That's absurd.

    Also, that's just the way the game is. You don't need a reason for killing people in a game.

    Assassins don't really need to embrace anyone to replenish their chi fast anyway.

    I'm not on a PK server myself so I can't really share anything about PK drama, but I do know that there's a lot of weird people out there that get intense pleasure out of randomly killing people.

    I feel that he is not doing anything wrong as it is a pk server but he is definitely wrong if he over-harrassed you in chat. If you cant handle it, reroll into a pve server. What you did was right though, the blacklisting.

    @nowitsawn sins only get their chi skill much, much later on(think lvl 59)

    I would have ignored him and logged out for a few minutes if I were you, or made it like if I was not knowledgeable of English, or simply gone afk.

    PK is PK, you don't need any justifications for it. But the way he talked to you and badly behaved is sure worth being reported, like Mr. Mod says.

    Think they meant how he bitched them out for not assisting him when he wanted the chi to go out and kill people. They clearly stated they saw no reason to assist him, and had very good reason since they would likely be a target soon after while harvesting. The fact the assassin braticized out for not getting their way would be behavior worthy of derision, though would use a different word than ungentlemanly. The OP said they didn't like the behavior of the sin during pk, which is why they would not assist. But the actions when the little twerp didn't get what they wanted seems to be the main idea behind the post.

    learning to read is usually a good idea before smart mouth responses. ijs. oh nvm i see you are from a pve server. to be expected.

    Vixen if you would be so kind as to whisper me his name i would much appreciate it. i have a lvl 3x alt that could use some pvp time. but the lil boy has probably stomped off the server by now QQ.

    Killing ppl for no reason is fun :D that's what keeps some people sane when they play. Besides a ue gentleman says please and thank you when causing a blood bath
    I don't care how old or young you are, how small your **** is, how much of a nerd irl you are or how depressed you are that you never will get laid. There is no reason to act like an A-hole to everyone on an mmorpg. Its a shame that I have to take time out of my day to tell people "stop being an A-hole". So I end with this, if your acting like an A-hole, and some one tells you your being an A-hole chances are your being an A-hole.

    You also have to take a look at the demograph that the Assassin class appeals to. By demograph, pick the player profile most likely to be fascinated with Assassin stealth, RPK, rude language, taunting, bragging, griefing and so forth. So are they:

    A) 25-35 year old young suburban mothers
    B) 40+ year long term hard core gaming purists who have played them all
    C) young, early teen females who also like the graphics, social networking, and fashion
    D) retired grandparent or mature working folks finding a challenging relaxing game
    E) Young, testorone filled 15-22 year old males who think they are real bad asses and feel that anti-social behavior builds their reputation

    This will answer why manners, respect, fair game play, and reasoning fail so often with people playing this class.
    Since when did the word "fail" change from a verb to an adjective? A character can "fail" (as a verb) or be a "failed" character (as an adjective), but there is no such thing as a "fail" character.

    If "Barb" (not "arian") is short for Barbarian and "Veno" (not "mancer") is short for Venomancer then shouldn't we be calling Assassins something other than "sins"?

    Oh please, quit your whining. There's nothing you can do about people being jack asses and that's it. If you actually think that there are no such people who get a kick out of watching as you get annoyed, disturbed, angered or whatever, you're wrong.

    @VixenWraith - That will happen a lot on PvP servers. Get used to it. Either way once u lvl up u wont have such a big problem with that.

    @Lylfo - If they use shadow escape and then shadow walk they get 1 instant chi bar, meaning full chi for a lvl 3x.

    @Starr - Oh look another pvp server dude that thinks everyone in pve servers know nothing, when they are non factors in pvp. Stop underestimating.

    girl* but w/e. i don't have to "think" anything. the pve people prove their lack of knowledge regarding pvp on a regular basis. i.e. this thread. the great thing about pvp is we can do something about people who are rude. we can pk them and they can't turn pk off b:laugh

    So, what is the point of the thread? To complain that a player did not act with proper manners? That's nothing new, people do that. Some get a kick out of watching people react to such people, even.

    There was a whole separate paragraph that was pretty much complaining about the Assassin PK'ing without any reason, so I picked that up for discussion, because I find complaining about that to be pointless.

    if the world map is empty, people QQ about no rpk
    if someone actually do something to promote rpk, people QQ about it too

    because some people can't take the pvp(either they don't want to pvp or they simply suck in pvp) so they start QQing about OP classes, Cash shoppers, and others that kill them.

    If u guys want to lvl in peace and do a little pvping @ endgame only why the hell do u play on a pvp server? ... lol move to a pve server and stop b:cry

    As per your post previous to editing, you missed their point. The player was trying to point out that the demographic is directed to selection "E".

    There is nothing wrong with PvP servers. Havnig these QQers is actually what makes some of the PKing enjoyable. I love to PK someone and have their lvl 95+ friend show up to get revenge.

    Making someone rage over a simple PK is delicious and satisfying.

    Not going to happen because PWI keep adding PvE servers suggesting that PvE servers are more popular than PvP server.

    And PK-ing is not despicable, just don't come to the forums and QQ about dropping your lunar claws, lunar wands, shattering your event helm causing you to reset the refine, dropping your wings and etc etc

    Someone wasn't paying attention, went to the Elder to restore their shattered gear, and ended up refining it without aids instead - thus, still shattered and now the refinement was reset.

    It's kind of along the same lines as when you first get up in the morning, you're not really paying attention, and end up putting your cereal in the fridge and the milk back in the cereal cabinet.

    Funny thing is that they usually get their refines back by sending a ticket.

    I was so tired one morning when I was going to school and working 6 hour nights for a year, I went to add some window washer liquid to my car I accidently put in Engine Coolant instead.
