[Event] Cube of Fate Battle Royale!

This event will run ON ALL SERVERS from Thursday, July 1st at 5:00pm PDT until Friday July 2nd at 5:00pm PDT!



The Cube of Fate...some players shudder upon hearing its name; others merely laugh as they jump headlong into its mysterious challenges..

It's been some time since we've had a Cube of Fate event, and for good reason-- we're upping the stakes, increasing the duration, and calling all servers to action for what figures to be the best Cube of Fate Friday yet!



The Deal

So here's whats going to happen: Starting this Thursday at 5:00pm PDT, our system will begin recording all characters on all servers who complete room 50 of the Cube of Fate. These players must start from Room 1 (Fate's Beginning) AFTER the start of the event clock (5:00pm PDT). We will be recording these numbers for a full 24 hours. To be counted as having completed the Cube of Fate for the purposes of this event, all you have to do is talk to the NPC in room 50 (Fate's End) and select either of the two reward options he offers.



The Competition

Here's where it gets interesting; all servers will be competing with one another for the Grand Prize! "But that's not fair, the older servers have more players!" you might be thinking to yourself. Well, we've taken that into account, and thus we will judge the contest based on a formula involving the current number of characters online for each server, so simply being a bigger server will not be an advantage for this contest.



The Rules

Cube of Fate MUST be started and completed (rooms 1-50) within the 24 hour period (Thursday 5:00pm PDT until Friday 5pm PDT)

You can take multiple characters from the same account through the Cube.

PK is NOT ALLOWED*

*Just kidding, PK is encouraged, but frowned upon. Actually, anything goes, but I'll just say that for the benefit of the entire server, you may want to work together instead of against each other.



The Prize

So, what are you all working for?

The server with the highest grade of Cube completion will receive 2x EXP, 2x Drops, and 2x Spirit for one weekend in the near future!

But only one server can win, so get on your factionmates, make some temporary alliances, and get into the Cube!

    I was laughing at that statement, too.

    Yay, a Cube event...I'm not real thrilled about the reward, but ah well~ I'll still participate, if I have the time.

    So (again just a wild hypothetical here), it would be in his best interest to go into the Cube and mercilessly slaughter any and all people trying to complete it, thus ensuring his server does not get the reward and thus ensuring prices remain high and allowing the rich to get richer while the poor get poorer. Right?

    Good thing I don't actually know anybody like that, and I was just speaking hypothetically the whole time...b:mischievous

    lawl....what a bad image it would give them and their fac. reminds me of those serial bombers killing innocents and giving themselves a self justified reason/reassurance that its ok to sacrifice others for your self content. especially when their minding their own business.

    Who, me? No no no... I'm a cream-puff.

    Besides, I may be a rich merchant, but I sell cash-shop items not mats, and thus double-drops encourages my customers to spend more.

    I was just inventing a hypothetical about, oh, I don't know, say maybe a level ~102ish 5 APS Blademaster or something, who might have frequently argued in the past here on the forums that double-drops ruins the mat-selling economy for free-to-play players.

    What if a player were to complete the cube more than once during the event time frame? Say, uses best tokens to get the COF letter so they complete it more than once? Would this count towards event?

    I would think so, if the number is determined by how many people take the prize pack at the end.

    Luckily hamsters only have enough strength to use a computer mouse for at most 6 minutes per day.

    Very nice job with the event guys, I popped into most of the servers and it seemed like people were having a good time. Thanks for participating, and we should have the results next week!
