Is sharptooth wolfling an okay overall pet? Cuz i love mine and i find it pretty easy to use in terms of tanking, hold aggro, luring, etc. ppl say that the lower a pet's original lvl is, the better the stats when u lvl it b:laugh recently i tamed a guardian wolf and i tried it out... it didnt seem better than my wolfling so i was wondering should i switch to the guardian wolf or just stay with my wolfling?

There are four classes of wolf - the higher class wolves do have slightly better stats. There's not much in it though.

Higher level wolves also have better starting skills - often better than they are allowed to be taught. That's very nice.

Are they a long term 'best' at anything? Sadly not.

I've seen some higher level venos use wolves still, but certainly not for tanking. They have pretty average defense, but it's nothing like a Walker or a Herc's. Sadly, though they're cute, they can't be used against any serious mobs.

They'd probably be fine to use for quests on the outside, but for dungeons you'll want a Walker or something else with a lot of armor.

For outside questing and grinding, you can make any pet work if you want to. For dungeons, or some of the tougher outside bosses, you'll need an actual tanking pet. A good damage-dealing pet is also desirable for many situations. the wolfling remains useful, but not as useful. i still use mine for pulling, and tanking outside mobs as it's able. but it can't hold a candle to my walker at tanking, can't hold aggro from me if i really let loose with my DDing, and can't DD as well as my skatefish when i spam its skills. still, it's a pretty good puller, and i can always find uses for such.

If you like the wolfling as your main pet, keep it. There's nothing wrong with it.

i have a slightly different question: given that i'm keeping my wolfling, is it worth investing much in it? i've been tempted to level up its flesh ream by one or two levels, maybe get it bash or slow or tough, but would i be wasting the scrolls? are there any relatively comparable replacements available (below level 45, say) that would come with similar speed and durability (since i use the wolfling as a puller) and better skills on top?

hm, you might want to start looking at the scorpion pup or the dark rider thingy. Both are pretty good at low levels and have better stats when leveled up.

The Lunar Lupin might make a decent grinder before you get Legendary Pets especially for mobs with magic. The Dark Wanderer would be nice for physical only mobs. The Lupin will lose all value while the Dark Wanderer will have good uses.

i like wolves, so i personally like to use a darkbreed wolfkin. it has decent defense so doesn't need heals quite as much as the wolfling would. i use it for regular questing fairly often even though it is about 8 lvls below me, i only need to heal it once after every fight.
