You know what's annoying? Watching your brand-new mp charm tick over and over while you spam heal an archer that's oracling through two levels because he can't solo a wicked pirate.
Did I mention he had 43 oracles? Ya, the numb-skull bought most of them. At first, I agreed to help him with 5 of them. So, after those five I go work on one of my quests, but he pm's me offering me money to help him with more. Which reminds me, he never did pay me....oh well, as long as he doesn't ask for help again, I'm happy.
Also, has anybody ever had someone drag them along on quests you didn't have or just didn't want to do yet? I don't mean the guy above. There was this dude that bugged me for like three or four days to come and help him do quests. He was a couple lvls lower than me, and I think he wanted to halt my progress and come help him so he could pass me in lvls. Seriously, he would pm me saying "Hey, could you stop doing your quest and come help with me with mine?". He eventually passed me in lvls, and when he did, he didn't need my help anymore. I havn't heard from him since.

**** saying no... have some fun with it- learn how to say "I don't speak english." in another language; for example: No hablo ingles. and just say it over and over again when someone asks you to do something and you don't want to do it. you could even throw in a couple random english words to make it look like you are trying to understand them xD

Pretending to speak a different language is a good idea, but I wouldn't want to risk the awkward situation of them understanding that language.

My 2 cents if you are a nub and go spam oracles but cant solo them buy a hp charm you are obviously rich if you can get oracles and if you buy them you proved you are an idiot as well Oracle spammers don't deserve help with their oracles
Simple solution don't help idiots power leveling, leveling without oracles is already too easy my barb might only be lvl 65 but this isn't my first char and i don't really bother leveling i play for fun

Or you could just reinforce what was agreed on. You help him for 5 oracles. He wants to keep going? Okay, you leave. Ignore him, blacklist. It's best to not stoop down to pretending to not understand or straight up lying.

I like how people say to stand up for yourself by using methods like speaking in forieng languages.
That's not sticking up for youself, thats finding a way to avoid the conflict. People need to learn that not all clerics are goody goods that are willing to sacrafice their whole day to help with a bh.
Someone ask me to help with a bh I dnt need? Sure if I'm in an especially good mood or also need the bh, fine if I get all molds and drops, and no if I dont feel up to it.
Look man, it's sad, but I'm afraid I have to tell you things are only going to get worse as you level. As you level, more and more people will ask for your help, and it may get to the point that you arnt enjoying yourself or doing anything YOU want to do anymore.
So stick to one of the very first answers you got. Say NO. If it's a true friend, they'll understand that your busy. If they rage or QQ then they're obviously just a moocher and dont deserve to be friends with a cleric.0 -

It's pretty easy to say no for me. I won't even do BH's my level if I don't trust the squad, or if it looks like there's any chance a player doesn't know what he's doing.
I've left mid BH a couple times when we almost got wiped and people told me to calm down after I ranted at the veno for "being a dumbass noob who can't pull to save her life". If you're going to play the cheapest, easiest money making/ levelling class there is, play it right or I'm ranting your punk ****.
I'm tired of people who haved played this game for months and still don't know how to run instances correctly.
End rant for me.
Edit: I also love it when I'm doing some random quest killing mobs, and a BM/ Barb comes up and starts killing the same mobs as me, then I try to squad him and he denies replying saying he wants to do it alone, then he has the f***ing audacity to ask me for buffs!!

If you won't help this squishy cleric take out some phys mobs, then you can go shove it.

I've learned playing this game as a Cleric that people will take advantage of you until they can't anymore and then drop you faster than a drained charm. I've learned to get people to work for me by only helping when I'm getting something out of it. This goes for strangers, friends, and faction mates (well, most of the time anyway) alike. I have a ton of quests to do and most of the time I end up doing them solo. If you think I'm going to take my precious time to stop and do your quest when I have a full quest log, you must be crazy.
So, instead of saying ME NO SPEAKA ENGLISH, tell them you're busy. It's your time, so make them give you a reason why you should be wasting it on them.InStyle is the greatest faction on Dreamweaver! b:victory

I'll usually help people..but not always, the only exception to this rule is Faction mates.
For regulars it depends on the following factors:
1. Class: If they are DD's and can take punishment, that's less I have to pay in repair costs, and less mana I have to dish out.
2. Quest: If they Expect me to go halfway between cities to kill even a few monsters for or with them...They need to think it over.
3. Intelligence: This overrides the first rule if done to an extreme. If you are just going to run around pulling mobs, and expecting me to throw constant healing at you when An IH and Wellspring should be enough for at least 2-3 mobs...your gone.
4. Attitude: If your going to do something like #3 and blame me for it...find yourself another cleric..
5. Reward: Don't even have to give me anything if you choose not to...The only thing I ask for is a thank you.

They want to curse at you and yell at you for your refusal of any of the above? Blacklist them and/or boot them from the squad.
They want a reason why you won't do any of those things? Say you don't need to give them one.

Thank you for that... my cleric is level 25, I was buffing/healing people on Broken Bow Bluff when I got asked for a rez. The person who I rezzed wanted to squad with me to help finish his quests. I wanted to carry on with what I was doing, not wishing to be in a squad for the moment and tried to explain this, I got back a load of verbal abuse... surely I have the right to refuse someone if I don't feel like squadding at the time?0 -
Just pretend to be afk. You don't have to answer all the time. Heck there's even an auto-reply feature in the options.0

Some standard answers I throw back at randoms when they have ridiculous requests:
"Why?"
"What does that have to do with me?"
"I have to help you because?"
"And so...why?"
"I'm busy at the moment and I don't know how long I'll take...maybe 5hrs."

lol, I'm 91 now and I still have trouble saying no...
Today, while on WQ, I landed in Whetstone Keep to exchange a volume, and some random BM pms me and nicely asks me to res his friend who is some distance away. I say yes and res the barb... the BM then adds me as friend for no reason, perhaps to ask me again for help in the future...
