100 def lvl

To my understanding, 1 def lvl = 1% less damage taken.. but that seems odd because it would be possible to get 100 def level (assuming it isn't capped or something) and I doubt they'd allow you to get perma immune to damage >.> Anyway, anyone know how this works?

look at it this way 1 def lvl = 1% reduction 2 def lvl are like 1.9% because it takes 1% off the 99% damage you were already taking 3 def lvl are like 2.89% and so onim jahailad and i cant change my avatarQQ0

Actually,100def level doesn't make you perma immune.If someone with 1 atk level or higher attacks someone with 100def level,the one with 100 def level will still take dmg.You can try looking in the Archer forum.There was some thread about attack and defense levels0 -

like when a lvl 90 attacks me as lvl100 i have 100 def lvl and 100 attack lvl and he 90/90 ? >.>???i like potato0 -

I remember Trawne mentioning something to me before that it is not equivalent after a certain amount. Such as 30 Def level wouldn't be 30% reduction, but more around 28%. Now, I can' say for certain if this is true, but if it isn't, then I imagine the cap would be 99% regardless of Def level. However, the only character who could ever reach this high would be a Psychic with at least level 9 White Voodoo and all of their armor slots filled with +2 Def level stones. Even so, I would imagine they would fill them with +2 Atk level stones so as to offset the 99 Atk level reduction from level 10 White Voodoo, assuming they wanted to use that. Honestly, all Atk stones (48 Atk levels), Black Voodoo Sage (25 Atk levels) and this new blessing (30 Atk levels) on top of their already crazy damage from magic, you have someone who is pretty much a glass gamma ray burster. They would basically be doing double the damage of a normal attack without any Voodoo applied. Combine that with a 10 second Soulburn in which if you attack you pretty much kill yourself, and they are going to kill you quickly.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well att/def lvl is based on the difference between the 2, so if someone has 30 attack lvl (blessing), the defender would need 130 def lvl for the mas effect9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm not crazy... the 10th is singing the music of tetris0

I'm not sure about defense levels, but archers have done the math with attack levels, and it doesn't quite add up to be 1% per level... when you stack a significant amount of it, it worked out to be about .67% per level, or some ****.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

Then the dmg formula when defense lvl is higher than atk lvl is:
Dmg_recieved = Dmg * (0,99) ^ (def-atk)

Now, suposing that atacker has 0 atack lvl then the max damage reduction is:
Dmg_recieved = Dmg * (0,99) ^ 147 = Dmg * 0,22823046
So, the damage reduction it's 77,17%

a barb will still be better for cata pulling, since every point of vit gives 17 on barb and 10 on psychic [barb almost doubles psychic], plus sage true form gives 30% more HP0 -
I was unable to find an exact formula but ya damage reduction for high defense levels is like
0.99^(def level - attack level)

What I gathered was that each successive defense level increased your % damage reduction by a decreasing amount. That is the more defense level you have, the less effective each additional DEF stone was. This is speculation but if right DEF stones will hit a point where hp > def.0

Since when does anyone have 32 sockets to use tigers in? Last I checked 26 sockets was max including a 2 socket weapon...0 -

Hmmm.. so apparently attack level cancels out defense level (like if a psychic had 99def lvl and someone else had 99 atk lvl it would be like neither had any atk/def lvls) but if someone has more atk/def lvl than the other, it would suffer from diminishing returns.
