PWI Wiki's Newest Guardian

Hey guys,


I'm happy to announce that the PWI Wiki has a new protector-- always-helpful Sangodoc of Dreamweaver server. "Doc" has informally been taking care of our Wiki since its inception, and so we've asked him to help us as we revamp the style and functionality of the Wiki over the coming weeks.

Please feel free to relay any questions or suggestions concerning the PWI Wiki to either him or myself. To do this, simply PM either "FrankieRaye" or "Sangodoc", and we'll get right to it.


And don't forget, the PWI Wiki can be found here.

    Thanks, everyone!

    I think that the PWI wiki is a greatly undervalued and underutilized resource, and I plan to keep working on it to make it better and better. It's certainly not perfect, and I have several ideas on how to make it better, so I'll be continuing to work on various things as I have been for nearly a year now. (Nearly a year?!? Holy cow!)

    However, I know that I do not know everything about PWI, so your useful contributions are always needed and welcome in the wiki. The more helpful people that contribute to it, the better it will eventually be, and that benefits all of the players of Perfect World.

    Oh, and a big thanks to everyone who has contributed so far! b:victory

    Congrats Doc! I look forward to the Wiki's revamp, its color scheme and layout is both confusing and dreary. b:surrender But nevertheless, it is indeed an untapped and often un-noticed asset that truly can hold the hands of newbies and vets alike throughout the game!

    Thanks again, everyone. Right now I'm aiming for some more basic fixes to the wiki that are long overdue, such as making linked text obvious (currently links within the wiki look the same as normal text, unless you edit your preferences to have links underlined.)

    However, since you guys suggest updating the appearance, do you have some other wikis or the like you could link to that show how you'd improve the look of our wiki? (If they're wikis for other MMOs, PM them to me, instead of posting them here.) Showing or saying specifically how you'd like it improved is much more helpful than just saying you'd like to see it improved in some nebulous way. I'm no graphic artist, but I do know my way around Photoshop and GIMP, so I can do some things if I have a better idea what you're looking for.

    And if you have suggestions for improving the layout of the main page, you can use the Main Page/sandbox‎ page to try your hand at a better layout.

    Also, if you see anything that is missing or needs improvement on specific wiki pages, but don't have the time/energy/expertise to fix it yourself, there are templates you can use to make suggestions directly on the pages themselves, such as the merge, stub, fixme, and deletion request templates. You can find a link to those templates on the wiki's main page, or just go directly to the Templates page here.

    If you spot any other any other problems or have some suggestions that aren't covered by the templates, please feel free to let me know here or tell me about it on my talk page on the wiki and I'll add those to the list.

    Grats!

    I used the Wiki often, as the in game encyclipeda (spelling fail) doesnt help much at all in quests. If im stuck, theres where to go!

    also, i love how interactive mods are with other players in the forums, some in other games are just like....

    "Submit a ticket"

    "Email your problem at boaringemail@1234.com"

    and "Please...." LOCK.

    But this game, they actually talk and stuff. its awesome ^^
