auction house safeguard?

Didn't there used to be a safeguard against bidding on something that you're already the highest bidder for? I think a warning message would pop up that said something along the lines of, "You're already the highest bidder for this item."

Was this ever in place, and, if it was, why is it gone now?

    yea u cant place a "highest bid" like on ebay .. only safety you have is if you bid with less than 20 minutes time left, it will bump up the time by 20 more minutes (example, 5 minutes left in auction, u bid, it has 25 mins left now)

    No, the OP means something that would warn you that the bid you're placing is pointless because you already have the highest bid. Not something that bids for you. And yeah, that sounds really familiar.

    Lets say you just bid on something. No one else outbids you. You can bid on it again. The OP thinks that there used to be a message that popped up telling you that you were currently the highest bidder (so bidding again would be a waste of money.) That message doesn't pop up anymore, so you can now keep bidding on something over and over without needing to and with no warning (it could be done accidentally.)
    I'm pretty sure this was in place... it seems really familiar to me, but I don't accidentally bid on stuff I've already bidded on so idk. lol

    Why not use the my bids keys and see if the item you bid on is there.

    I remember a "Hey, stupid, are you sure you wanna bid on this item? You're already the highest bidder" message popping up whenever I double-clicked on an item I've just bid on. I don't think it's been more than two months since I've seen this message, so I was just wondering. Seems like a strange feature to remove.

    Yea,i remember this function too.It's been quite some time for me since I've seen the message,i think around last year-end.

    I don't ever remember such a thing being in place, and I guess it wouldn't be bad. But not a very big deal imo.
