Archer..Is it worth it?

I've played a veno til it was level 75 and thought that it was an awesome PvE character, but I'm a horrible PvPer with a veno...I made alt after alt in an attempt to find a class that would be decent PvE but I won't have a terrible time of losing battles against players. I have a 31 LA wizard..but I hate the slow cast time that it takes to kill monsters. I also have a 24 barb...I love the hp and I hear they are great endgame, but I don't really like the time it takes to fufill quests (with low accuracy it can be a huge wait)

I thought of being an archer. They spike damage like crazy and they have damage reduction, but how in the world can they be so bad endgame? (regarding the rumor of archers = fail endgame..)

Would I just be wasting more time building an archer? Or should I just stick to dragging myself dungeon to dungeon with my herc veno?b:sad

P.S. I have all together shoved the question of being helpful in parties...Being asked 24/7 by everyone and their dog to solo their dungeon is infuriating, to say the least. Also I plan on going all the way with this character so please give any and all advice!

    Archers are a nasty class end game with the right gear. Putting veno vs archer end game would likely result in the archers favor. Archers are a good class end game overall but they fall short against sins. I would say archer if those are your top 2 in debate.

    In my experience, this is usually true if the archer stays long range, and plays intelligently.

    However, up close, a veno has some major advantages.

    Archers endgame are still good.. PvP wise and PvE wise. (No, this isn't my main Archer character). They are just kinda hard to play up until level 40 or so. Then it gets a lot easier. Heck, it gets easier at level 19, when you get knockback arrow (Works on mobs and veno pets ONLY, not other people).

    They are still strong when it comes to PvP, hence why they are DD's. Maybe not as comparable as a wizard endgame PvP....
