do the mag and phy debuff skills for pets stack or are they overwritten? and by what?

Reason for question is that I still use my magmite for DD if there is a barb. He has bash5 roar and tough5. I like the ability to take agro and hold it long enough for rez if barb goes down. I was thinking the phy debuff skill (pierce?) would be better than a magic bash as the fourth skill, but only if it stacks with ironwood. Opinions? Any other herc venos still use magmite as a dd pet?

    Pierce overwrites/is overwritten by:
    Dimensional Seal (cleric debuff)
Glacial Spike (BM polearm 2 spark skill)
    Ironwood Scarab
    Devour (barb aggro skill)

    Howl overwrites/is overwritten by:
    Elemental Seal (cleric debuff)
    Glacial Spike

Pierce would be a good choice for your magmite. I have bash, pierce, howl, and shriek on my eldergoth and whenever I'm in a squad with a dedicated tank I use this pet for the debuffs. Though a magmite would make a better physical damage tank than an eldergoth, I find the eldergoth more versitile (long range pulling, ranged tanking, faster running, and a better magic tank than the golems).

Pierce would be good if you're a foxform meleer, but ironwood gives a stronger debuff, and can be kept up nearly constantly (and does damage), where pierce has a cooldown that lasts twice as long as the skill (and does no damage.) Howl would be a better choice for a caster (increasing the damage you and other casters do) unless you're constantly passing sparks.

My better half is currently playing a mmorpg that has a system in place that can be somewhat frustrating at times.

For instance you just went through the trouble of getting some really nice one hour high level buffs placed on you from another character. Then joe lowbie walks by and spams one of his low level buffs on you and guess what he just overwrote that high level buff you've been trying to get for the past 15 minutes is gone. Kind of makes you want to pk him/her right there.

    Can that happen here?

Yes, low level buffs overwrite high level ones.

Remember, if 2 or more debuffs have the same icon, they overwrite each other. if different icons, they stack

For example: cleric's elemental seals and a pet's howl, bm's glacial spike, and veno's myraid rainbow (if howl procs) all overwrite each other becuase they have the same icon.

but amplify damage, extreme poison, heavens flame, and glacial spike will all stack together.
