I've read quite a few of these an many of these guides discuss the same few skills. Tackling slash, rib strike, punctured wound, etc. Can any high lvl shed light on majoirty of the sin skills that are worth putting points into?

Disregard this guy, he cucks socks.

What you really need to lvl is the skill that has that thing that does that other thing while it does one thing.. and the other. That one.

Well y'know you only want to level that skill if you have the one that does the other thing activated first, everyone knows that. Get with the program narb.

You all are wrong. It's the skill that breaks the thing that does the thing that creates a thing by activating the thing.

Serious: Rib Strike and Dagger Devotion are the only skills you NEED to level. All others after that are personal preference based on your play style.

    Adding on to ACLucius,

It's the skill that breaks the thing that does the thing that creates a thing by activating the thing. Once the thing that did the thing that created a thing by activating the other thing is done, you can do another thing which leads to two more things: this thing and that thing, both of which deal this amount of thing and can have other things happen in simultaneous things of light and colorful things.

Ribstrike is wonderful, end of story. 50% reduced boss attack speed at level 10 is glory of all things to anyone who's taking damage. Dagger Devotion is awesomesauce. 60% damage at level 10 can't be beat. After that, leveling your skills is just up to your own personal preference and the size of your wallet. I'd personally recommend at least getting all of your skills. Some, like level 1 Inner Harmony can last you quite awhile until you have the money/sp to level it up. For 79 skills, you should look around on the net for testimonies. I, personally, have Healing Trance and find it to be nearly useless. Nearly, but not all the way :)

Oh come guys, you all are a dumb (xD JK).
The answer is 42, end of discussion.

Ribstrike, both stealth skills (if you use stealth much in PvP), Shadow Teleport (again, if used often in PvP) Slipstream Strike, Head Hunt, and ofc, Dagger Devition.

Actually, what others said are quite true...
Basically level up those skill that you think/felt its good...

    Few to recommend:

    Against Range:
    Deep Sting, Tackling Slash...

    Against Melee:
    Rib Strike, Slipstream Strike...

Additional you might wan to get ThroatCut, Headhunt and perhaps Knife Throw to pull range mob to you... :)

This reminds me. Make sure that you keep Throatcut on your hotbar when you are going against bosses that have AoE's. If you time your first one right, pretty much every one after that will cancel the AoE if you hit it right away. It is especially useful if you get good with it against drum boy in TT, as the Cleric then doesn't have to use BB and can save some of their charm.

Agreed... Throatcut is basically a skill to interrupt mob/boss 'channelling'... So definitely a good skill to upgrade, and a must skill to be put in hotkey :)

Well, I disagree to a point. It should definitely be a later upgrade as it is effective at level 1. It also should never be used against regular mobs as you have Deep Sting which can be channeled faster.

b:chuckle i like to ribstrike demons after they spark for giggles :P

and shadow teleport isn't really that important till later on imo, i still use my lvl 3 one and it's fine xD

and honestly... the most important things to max out are your stealth skills.. which is really the point of being an assassin. max out cat like tread and sharp observer... have to make sure you can see your targets and they can't see you, it's funny sometimes seeing assassins who are higher level than me spark beside me thinking i can't see them :D Max as well, shadow walk and shadow escape. dagger devotion is a must... everything else can be worked on as you progress ingame.
