I usually don't QQ about the little stuff...Or even the big stuff. But the perfect encyclopedia button is driving me nuts. Blinking Icons generally mean an action is required. If they just did that to call attention to a new feature, then fine. But after you click on it the first time, it should quit blinking permanently, and not start again every time log in.

    The title certainly called attention to this thread :).

    I try not to notice it too much, but it seems like an easy fix for them to do if enough people complain.

    This will get locked.. buy you have a point, that button is a PAIN IN THE ****.

    I am pretty sure they'll turn the blink off in next patch.

    I agree, I have to click it everytime i log in or it will drive me crazy! please make it not blink on login. b:surrender
    If you want to make it blink the first time people create a character I am ok with that.. not that a new person will know what to do with it but maybe they will remember it later on that way

    It annoys me too, but I tedn to focus on the lower part of the UI, so I am not too bothered about it.

    Why don't you move the genie window over it, it would hide that blinkey green icon.

    Exactly. When I first logged in after the patch, I assumed that was what it would be -- use it once, then it doesn't blink anymore. Sadly, I was wrong.

    The blinking drives me nuts too. Please turn it off.

    I think this is just because the encyclopedia is a new feature, it will probably be removed soon.

    I wouldn't call it fixed. I would call it completely changed. That title was totally intentional. It was made to be mildly spammy, just like the problem I was bringing up.

    But on a more general note, And this I'm sure will be locked. Since I'm daring to complain about the mods. But The reason I only have 38 posts in over a year and a half in this game. Is because of every other post(until now always by others) getting either locked, or deleted. I didn't even know until now that they also just ninja changed them to whatever they wanted. That is even worse. As soon as it was edited it became that mods post, not mine. So it should have his or her name on it.

    So now every post I read, I will have to wonder if that was really posted, or if it is really a mod speaking, on someone else account. This is an awesome game, but probably the worst forums I've ever been on. Mainly because of the draconian tactics of the mods.

    I don't expect to change much by this post. They will still lock and delete at their whim. But please DON"T edit stuff without saying that you did it, and hopefully why.

    Well you have seen one now. I used about 8 Blinks in the title. There is nothing offensive about that, and while repetitive, it isn't really spam, since there was a reason. The mod removed 5 blinks. So sure a small change, but its still messing with my post, without clearly marking that that wasn't my words. And if they make that change. What else are they changing?

    I have seen mods change names of posts, and I have seen them edit posts a lot. They ALWAYS post that they have edited the content, but not ever if they change the post name.

    There is no magic conspiracy theory going on here.

    well, I didnt have any problem with your blink title, I even think that it emphazised the issue. well, 5 blinks is not a big deal on the other hand but I guess that a mention in your first post that the title was changed wouldnt hurt. i think i have seen that before

    Eh, it's up in a corner of the UI that I never actually look at. So yeah, the blinking does startle me sometimes, but it's nothing too irritating.

    seconded and agreed with.

    i don't mind strict forum rules; i can live with draconian moderation --- or if i can't, i can turn my back on it and go elsewhere. i already know of other perfect world web forums i could sign up with and get a different team of moderators, with a different set of rules, to get along with.

    nor do i mind moderators enforcing their rules, however strict. ban, edit, delete as appropriate, that's what rules are for.

    but PLEASE, PLEASE have the guts to admit what you're doing when you're doing it. the unmarked, un-commented upon ninja edit makes the whole team of moderators seem downright slimy, because it brings with it an air of unreliability and untrustworthiness. it's a near perfect way to sour the relationship between the forum community and the moderator team.

    If it was Navi from Ocarina of Time, I would be far, far, far more irritated about that little blinking icon than I am currently.

    Initially it was kind of annoying, and I stared at it for a minute or two and wondered if I should just click on it and make it go away, but eh. I have better things to watch on my screen than the blinking icon and eventually I forgot it was every there at all.

    [Then again, with a 1920x1200 monitor and playing this game on full screen... that icon is comparatively tiny anyway and incredibly easy to ignore.]

    For the low cost of only $15 zen, you can buy a "stop encyclopedia from blinking token" from the boutique. Totally worth it if you can't stand blinking lights..
