Hiring NPCs

Just a thought I had. Sometimes asking for help is like picking teeth, seriously. I get ignored 90% of the time anyway.

Some quests (especially) at my level. Do get pretty difficult. Hiring out an NPC for lets say 30 mins, (300k?) would be nice. At least I have a chance of getting quest done if I CAN NOT get any help.

In terms of this getting implanted: 0% I know it requires money which makes the dev look the other way. But I thought i'd suggest it anyway see what you guys think.

Hire NPCs as mercenaries... This could be interesting as a coin sink, but it is way not recommendable as this game is a MMORPG, not a console or computer RPG.
If it ever was implemented, tons of low and mid levels would abuse that system to have their instances done without any effort, and to not share spoils. Where is the challenge and learning curb then? Nowhere.

I do not mean that your suggestion is bad, mind me, but this type of game is not fit for your idea.

    Be well. b:bye
Maintenance time. Please choose a line:
    - When is it over? OMG I need my fix!! *super spazzing*
    - Fix the damn bugs, dammit! I'm so angry! I'll quit!!
    - New codes out there? I like free stuff~ *wink*
    - When will we get new content? QQ
    - Will we get sales? I got a ton of gold to spend.
    - I'm bored, I'll create a useless thread to annoy Opkorock.
    - *Incessant poking on Sweetiebot* Fun~

you ever think through what you suggest here?

if ppl could hire npcs, then even less ppl would help you for free!
then you would have only choises from paying the players or the npc for help...

    no ty

Hm, mercenaries... sounds nice. If those would be not that strong and only available to aid with quests and not be able to enter instances/ kill bosses/ kill players/ etc. it would work well. Maybe make them available in two ways: as you said 300k/ half-an-hour or 1g at Boutique for 30 mins.

You know what I see with this idea?

    1. People grinding against mobs they know/ cashshopping a bunch
    2. Hiring NPCs for every single quest, regardless of the difficulty. Why? They're lazy.
    3. Even LESS peole knowing what they're doing
    4. More squad wipes in BH/ TT/ etc.

^ might be cheaper than oracles. If it is, quite obviously, people will go for it.
It's not a bad idea, but people will probably take it out of what it's supposed to be and just completely abuse the idea ;s

(It might be solved by only being able to hire and NPC every one hour or something, but regardless, people will know less and less about how play their class ><.... or, a level req to hire NPCs... but people might complain about favouritism or whatevs ;w; people are weird nowadys D=) b:surrender

Guild Wars has this and it's actually kind of awesome. Most towns and cities have "Henchmen" that you can add to your party, mages, archers, even healers. They just follow you around making silly comments and doing what they're supposed to do (healing, fighting etc.) They also take a cut of all your coin drops, so they're not free, but you don't have to pay an outrageous fee just to have them with you.

There are also certain quests where you can unlock "Heroes" that are just like Henchmen, only better because they can be fully customized, stat and skillwise.

The only problem I could see implementing this on PWI is lag. In Guild Wars, whenever you leave a city, the "Explorable Areas" are an instance-like zone that only you and your party members are present in. Having a whole group of NPCs with you would only lag you. In PWI, this would be like everyone in your zone causing +5 lag.

As an added bonus, NPCs cannot be hired for instances.

So don't expect the game to be completely easy. Oh and, as another bonus, you don't get EXP or Spirit from their kills.

That's how attacking NPCs work currently anyway.
There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Now, I take it slow, and don't worry about having nothing to do. There's always something to do in an MMORPG, especially if you are high level. PK'ing is for those who desire to inflate their egos. True friendship comes from helping one-another, rather than to start rivalries.

It takes 315300 Mysterious Chips to make one warsoul weapon, if you have a 100% success rate.
