Meditation

I was thinking, Tideborns are the only class that don't sit down and meditate. The Tideborn meditation is actually much more unique, so why can't we do this with other classes?

For example, a cleric could wrap itself up in its wings as if it were trying to protect itself, and meditate that way.

Other classes, I can't think of many examples (Been trying to think of some) but it'd still be nice to see some different meditations for each class.

Thoughts?

Clerics with wings wrapped like you said, sounds good. Barbs transform into their animal form and curl up and hibernate maybe? Venos sit as they do now but their first pet in their pet bag walks around them in a circle, guarding/protecting their master? Assassins should fade into the shadows, not actually stealthed, but to appear "hidden" to meditate? Wizards could be close to now but with a better visualisation, like casting a protective spell on themselves perhaps, or similar to the Tideborn, where they "float" while meditating? Archers... same as now, just sit and meditate? Blademasters with their weapon(s) held in front of them while they kneel and regain their morale? Psychics twitch and flail about (with psychic visions running through their minds) while they sit at their crystal ball?

Much coding would be required for the changed vis, especially since every race and class would be different. Now there's two visualisations for meditating, my thoughts/ideas would make for eight visualisations.

Great topic for using one's imagination, but sadly, I don't ever see any time and money investment to customise visualisations being initiated. Neat concept though for a future PWE game.

    I do like this idea.

    My thoughts (per class):

Blademaster: Kneeling down onto one knee, both swords out to their side (arms extended to full reach). Two small orbs, one red, one blue, floating in circling pattern's around the BM's arms, then move onto the body and flow along the body like water. This repeats until the BM stands back up, or moves.

Wizard: They sit down on the ground, in a indian sitting position, and begin to float up into the air some. They have a orb form around them that is light blue in color, but it's visual effect is that of waves crashing together and forming into one.

Barbarian (Human Form): They start out kneeling down on a single knee, the orb begins to form, at that moment they fall over like they died, and the orb forms to the shape of their body. The orb is still standing upright, while the barb's body is on the ground like they have died. This is to give the impression the barb is still there.

Barbarian (True Form): They lay down on their side, and look like their sleeping. As that is happening a tiger shaped orb forms from their head to their tail, and then moves upright to give the same impression as in Human form.

Venomancer (Human Form): Like with the current T.Born meditation the veno will do a sort of hover in the air. But as the orb forms around her, blurred out images of different (tamable) monsters in PWI flash around her orb, giving a visual display to all around.

Venomancer (Fox Form): Fine as is.

    Cleric: As Julanya said.

    Archer: Fine as is.

Assassin: Could be more "stealth" like.

    Psychic: ......can't comment here.

Why don't people want anything fancy for Archers? D: lol, I love my Archer~ ;_; How about sitting next to their weapon and sharping arrows for bows / xbows or shining projectiles (or whatever they are) for slingshots (depends what they use)? xD And they have wings too, the wings should just lay on the floor... b:pleased Hehe, it would be so cute. ^^ Too bad I never have to meditate on my Archer... I would do it when I go AFK. :P

I don't use meditation anyway, in most cases, just standing around gives me more HP/MP recovery.
There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Now, I take it slow, and don't worry about having nothing to do. There's always something to do in an MMORPG, especially if you are high level. PK'ing is for those who desire to inflate their egos. How, exactly, does that work when meditating doubles your HP/MP recovery rate?

I can just picture the graphic lag b:shocked

But more to the point- clerics like said before with their wings around them, but their arms folded crossed across their chest like they're praying? (kinda like the channeling before IH)

But, if each class gets a different meditation, it's different from just the tideborn meditation- from what I've seen, both classes have the same meditation animation ;s

Uh, because I tested it with various HP/MP Rec + stats?

For example, when I had no + to Recovery, the meditation barely made any difference.

On +5, same thing, still went about as fast as +5.

Tested on BM, Barb and Venomancer... all seem similar, the only difference is that the Veno gains MP faster than the other two, and Barb gains HP faster, and BM gains HP moderately.

All three though, don't see a gain using meditation. So I've stopped using it.

At least triple. After combat, to have to sit or stand around for more than one full minute is bad, makes me want to not play. I don't play to sit and do nothing while my HP and MP regen so slowly like it does. It takes way too long.

Oh wait, I know, I need a cleric just to do a solo quest, otherwise I have to wait four minutes to fully regen HP and MP after only three kills. Need clerics to be able to heal MP too then. Normal game regen is way too slow.
