horrible reviews

i wonder if PW is aware of some of the horrible reviews their game are getting and how many players stop playing the games on a daily basis, i suggest they stop reading reviews from people who post here and search everywhere cause as far as im concern, every time i walk through west archosaur i see less and less people. i remember the days when i wanted to leave school to come play now its like im wondering if i should delete the client or maybe one day it will get better, sort out your games please. here are a few out of the many reviews i read and most of them highlighted the same problems (http://www.gameogre.com/reviewdirectory/reviews/Perfect_World.php)

I think it's pretty hard for a (supposedly) professional company to take any review seriously if the "reviewer" can't even be bothered to spell out their words.
Doesn't necessarily mean said reviews are wrong, but I read way too many paragraphs there that sound like disaffected 14 year olds. That said, I laughed at the most recent post there. "Find a private server."
b:chuckle
Not that PWE's going to give a **** either way, as long as their short-sighted money grabs continue to line their pockets.0 -
I agree with Kep, I found pretty much ALL of the reviews to be mispresentative jokes. The couple that had something truly good to say only pretty much said "It's a good game." which tells absolutely nothing. Most of the reviews seem to be "You can't lvl past 50/60 without paying, it's ****".
Hummh..... *logs into her lvl 91 cleric with full TT gear she BOUGHT with coin and mold sword* No.... no.... I think you can get past those without paying any RL money, I know this because I have never bought a single Gold and never will.
Not a free to play? If this ain't f2p, I've no idea what is...
And the other thing, you don't NEED a charm, mp, or hp. You can get by without one, I just prefer having an HP charm with me, helps a lot... and yes, I can use and buy charms without using RL money myself.
To wrap it up: The reviews in question are.... *drumroll* horse dung.
For a good overall review I might recommend this. Even if I may not agree 100% with it, it's still a good representative to pwi.0 -
Always take things with a grain of salt.
Reviews are subjective in nature, so it would depend on gameplay, personal tastes and the culture of the tester, but also the time he/she spent on it.
Examples:
What if you got a good review of a bad reviewer or the inverse?
And what would you think about an article full of flaming and nitpicking, but on real flaws that the game has?
What if an old-school of a reviewer finds the game to be a gem, and another, that superficially looks at things, having only discovered games full of cutscenes and symphonic compositions all in HD, calls it a pile of monkey poo?
It's exactly what happens for specialized reviewer in arts or fashion or your teacher trying to evaluate your poem.
Better look at different sources and compare, or even better, if you got time to spare and a lot of boredom to kill, try it for yourself.

Many people write negative reviews, because:
1.) They got scammed in-game (their fault), they rage quit and hate the game like hell.
2.) They are too stupid to understand it / didn't spend enough time in-game.
3.) They have no life / nothing better to do just to write **** online.
Perfect World is not perfect (lol), but it's one of the most popular F2P MMOs. If it was that bad, we would have a lot less players already. I've been playing MMOs since 2004 and I've tried many free ones, and this is the only MMO that made me stay for almost a year now (I usually quit all games in a few weeks).
What I hate is that people mainly attack PWI because of the cash shop. If you're smart, you don't have to spend money on this game. I spent 20 dollars and only got mount and fashion. I saved up for my Herc and gear just by grinding and TTing. Sure, it took more time, but why hurry in an MMO? People who whine about the cash shop are idiots.
And BTW, I personally hate WoW with a passion because it has hideous characters, awkward controls and lame gameplay and I still don't write negative reviews about it, because I know the kids who play it won't stop playing just because I hate their overrated ****. :P Plus I don't wanna WASTE time on things I don't like. Even if people write crappy reviews, that won't stop us playing and won't stop others giving PWI a chance.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=13464916031&dateline=1277125340[/SIGPIC]

Having played this game since the first day of closed beta, I have to agree with a good deal of those reviews.Main characters
Celestial Sage Venomancer Zoe - 100
Sage Barbarian Malego - 910 -
Wizards are woefully underpowered
to the OP: why should someone have to read reviews to have an opinion about if the game is getting boring? I can judge the game myself....
and some comments:
1) do you really think that there is a game where you cant pay to win? and i'm not talking about f2p only but p2p as well.
2)identical quests? ok, sure, in the end all you do is kill some monsters or fly around delivering stuff. and sure, some monsters are (almost) the same. personally i dont really care
3)"There is nothing to do once the level cap has been hit and you've obtained the best gear"
technically nobody hit the level cap, as far as i know there are only 103.
also, nobody got the best gear (warsoul).
but even if someone got them (in other servers i guess) I dont really think that there is nothing to do.
but even if there is nothing to do, I believe that doing all that will take a plenty good time UNLESS you just bought them. and I think that maybe that's the problem of the writer. they just bought their stuff (nix) and reached the end in a few days. now they sit there and wonder where is the fun. well, the fun is in the journey and not the end. now, about those that reached the end without cashopping, even if i'm sure that there are plenty of things to do (TW, help guilds, nirvana?, warsoul? xD) i can understand that maybe they are bored. well, maybe it's time to go, it's a game, not a life... btw it looks like there are implemented new stuff in pwi so maybe they will be more to do...
4)"****ing ridiculous features such as the ability to create a shop the size of a small town"
seriously if this kid cant realise that something is an april's fool joke how do you expect his review to be taken into consideration by pw? lols...
5)pay money to level up faster = pay money to loose content just to get a virtual achievement...
6)class impalance. "Psychics, Venomancers and Archers have a huge PvP advantage. Wizards are woefully underpowered"
orly.....
7)about the economy. I cannot really judge since i paid RL$ (on the other hand mostly for wings, mounts, fashion) currently i'm playing around and looks like i make quite a lot of money. not as much as i would wish but i think that i'll be able to get a decent end game weapon. and i love it0 -
i wonder if PW is aware of ...
I actually wasted some of my time and read the post you referred to. Here are some of the problems I have learned about from this effort:ALL QUESTS FROM LEVEL 1 - 100 EXCEPT FOR INSTANCE/FB QUESTS ARE IDENTICAL
...
****ing ridiculous features such as the ability to create a shop the size of a small town.
But I stopped reading a bit after that...
But remember: wq=cs, that was important new knowledge for me, and I would never have learned it if you had not posted this wonderful thread. (Yes, I am in a mood today, and I really should not be posting. Oh well...)0 -

Yep there is at least one. Wealth have no impact in pvp. The only way to gain
unfair advantage in pvp is to use bots... but it's a very very bad idea:

how about paying ppl to farm my equipment?0 -
how about paying ppl to farm my equipment?
All max armors/weapons have the same stats and are easy to get. Won't change
a thing. b:pleased0 -
This game has become very horrible, everybody playing since the beginning would know this.
its becoming more cashshop based every week, ppl who cashshop alot think they are baddies.....meh there is so much negative to say about the state of the game atm.
take an example of private servers, cash shop is no option there, people have to farm it all, the person who puts most effort into it has the strongest gear, thats how it is supposed to be.*Faildom*
I don't need a Squad
Level a Venomancer to 90.

Huh... last time I was on a private serv there was an option to buy... Or farm a certain HH boss/mob that dropped lots of loot... That wasn't exactly hard work...
Besides not all ppl have the time to play 24/7 to win with effort alone. Got nothing against CSers b:cute Plz be more of you, I want the gold $ to drop some b:cute[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

sorry if i interpret this wrong but are you saying using RL cash to get items to level up is a waste? if so then what about those who blow 50$ on alcohol every week? lol if people can do THAT then i could probably afford 20 bucks a month to get me a few hyper stonesb:laugh0 -

hm, what i had in mind was some ppl that oracle to 80, hyper to 100 and then Q.Q because there is nothing to do
i dont think that hypers are bad, assume that you do frost runs for exp
i'm sure that they are exciting but ok, after a couple of runs i guess that it gets a bit boring. so you hyper, get the rewards and save time
and I dont think that they are bad for the game either, the only source of gold is ppl buying zen after all.
actually, I dont really mind, do whatever you want/pleases you
after all, I hypered a legion attack to get to 79 and get crystal light xD0 -

i agree wholeheartedly it's kind of funny to watch people whine about nothing to do at level 100 when they are only 2 months into the gamexD. mmorpg are made to level up at a slower pace so in theory, by the time your reach high level, another expansion would pop up and voila! more content to keep you going.
personally i use oricales when a REALLY fall on hard time with exp (like dying reapeatly due to oracle noob barb in an fb>_>) i level up till quests buld up a boom! quests to run:P at least that's what i did before the hyper stones came out:P not i just kill mobs that are in the pub quest area:P
on another note, i can't see how people can say there is nothing to do in the game after level 100. i say stop being so selfish and help other ppl. and if that don't work then try leveling another class:/0 -

I agree to this and to Thanos' post. It's funny that some even aim to be close to capping for PvPing purposes, but eventually even get bored from it.
Hmmm, I should return to questing. Old man Leth stayed at lv 65 for too long now.Maintenance time. Please choose a line:

And when I turn 86 I won't even be able to do gamma anymore. Even less content. Great.0 -
