Hey all,

After the success that my previous thread brought (thanks to all that participated and commented), I want to bring you guys to another question that would be rather relevant to any RPG game, but which is relatively facultative here in MMOs (and fully depends on you, the gamer, in PWI's case):

The alignment.
What may that be, you ask (if you are not familiar with that term of that other RPG series, who basically is the common ancestors of all RPGs)? It's in a few terms how your character behaves and if he/she follows the law or does as he/she pleases or even does destructive things, for either good or evil.
(for more information, Google is your friend)

As for myself (I know, talking about myself again, but there should be a reference point to everything, right?), I tend to be on the Neutral Good side in a MMO, up to Lawful Good at times, and be Lawful Good in reality.

Any reasons? Well, as I stated multiple times before, I like to have my own identity and am not a full carebear. I could also annoy people if they behave stupidly, even if it never goes far. I also keep a sense of order by giving hints or advice to those who request it, and give buffs if asked right ('buff plz' will lead you nowhere, pal!)

Etc., etc.

    I would have assume that your only bloody once a month... well... bloody and moody once a month.

    Mmmmm RPG alignments? Like D&D? Those are severely debated you know as to exactly what encompasses what. I digress besides that um geek moment I am generally Chaotic Good with tendency towards pure neutral.

    With that I shall explain my reasoning I will help anyone anywhere for no reason at all but will just as likely kill them should it suit me fine. Its how I play all my characters besides those of whom I have decided I will be different from the norm. I will mediate problems and never take sides on a argument unless it directly involves me. I shoot for the middle ground but tend to be nice as opposed to mean because it gets things done easier. I plan things out to the extent I leave open ended results so I don't hit a dead end very often. Not quite the Chaotic good the book sets out but I am about as close to that aliment as I am to anything else. My mind is too random to be restrained to one mindset.

    Whatever I feel like at the time.

    Usually I'm pretty amicable. If a person asks politely for help more often than not, I do provide the help. Usually I like to talk the person through the problem, and more often than not, I can suggest something for them to try so they can *do it themselves*. It's great when people show gratitude when they manage to solve whatever problem they had, even though I essentially did nothing... lol.

    Sometimes if a person really gets me annoyed I'll get a bit nasty. Having an extensive vocabulary at my beck and call comes in handy when firing derogatory bullets at the idiots who frequent PWI world chat. Or just idiots in general. Sarcasm is my friend in game and in real life... though I tend to moderate my behavior and comments somewhat more in real life, of course. I make exceptions for when I'm driving, and there's an idiot in a giant yellow Hummer is tailgating me... kiss my middle finger, #%@$!! Anyways, enough about that.

    Mostly good... breath of evil.

    Nowadays since I got married and whatnot, I'm leaning towards the good side. Maybe a little Chaotic Good lol. Will never be a Lawful Good type of person, I love a little chaos. b:cute

    Avoiding drama with another player, stay outside player fight, avoid fail squad, do what i wanted, almost never asking help, feel funny when someone ask me help.

    I see there are a lot of chaotic people here. I'd say it truly depends on the situation, and being confronted to dumbasses sure makes everyone want to kick some butt or be quite verbose, in the bad sense.
    Same here, minus the evil words, that is why I tend to solo.

    But I guess I got a strong set of values, so I lean more to the Good side. That said, sarcasm is a great technique to get and master.


    (Hmm, should I create a poll where people would state if they make their character speak and behave the way they do, or create a different personality altogether... But that's another story. b:laugh)

    Playing with some friends later today - A great campaign that has gone on for about a year by now, every wednesday. I'm the GM, and tonight has been something I have prepared a lot for!

    Anyway, back to main topic:

    Myself? CG-CN (Chaotic Good - Chaotic Neutral). Or, as some like to call it, E-NE (East, NorthEast) b:chuckle

    Reason: I enjoy the game. I do what I want, and enjoy the company of friends. I love jumping headlong into battle (GOTTA LOVE AOE!!!!) - and I am almost always friendly and welcoming towards other people - in my own, unique way. I hate rules. They rarely do any good anyways, because there will always be the expectation.

    However, the CN part comes from the fact that even I enjoy a little on the wilder side at times - again, killing is fun! And once I get full TT99 gold and all the other things I am preparing for - white names, beware!

    My 5 cents - Enjoy the game!
    PWI will continue - in one way or the other. I'm just glad I found a balanced server now that I enjoy - naming is illegal, but PM's are welcome.

    Only reason I log in still is also just to say hi to friends.

    I guess I can be lawful or neutral good.

    I mostly help people, I never start fights with my fellow players. When an argument starts up, I usually let others sort it out, or try and end the argument.

    It's amusing to see that usually clerics are the more altruistic people...

    Forget what I said, unless he is a rare, trusted agent of the Reaper.

    By the way, in an argument, I tend to state my reasons for defending myself. I never let the other alone, if he/she is the type to be stubborn, unless there is no cure. I at least try to make it clear that a debate is never one-sided.
