Hello there folks & greetings from NZ deep in the SW Pacific

I've got a LITTLE problem ( and probably you've heard it before )

Some time ago I regularly played PW, but for many reasons I stopped

Now nothing works !

1. New Computer (No file transfer )
coz there was very expensive looking black smoke

2, Downloaded a new PW & installed

3. No UPDATES from PW only "try again" & "verify"

4. Can NOT access PW game at all

Any help going to a beginning beginner

    If you're using Windows Vista or 7, make sure you are using an administrator account and that your UAC settings aren't blocking the game's connection to the servers.

    I use 7 with administrator rights

    UAC is turned off

    Something is still not right here

    Still can NOT get any onto PW Heavens Tear

    Please ! Any other thoughts going 1

    Seeing that there has been absolutely no replies to this thread

    (except the suggestions by surtr, Thank you )

    It seems that PW support is hopeless to the point of being non-existent

    Well, non-existent in helping a nooby so that PW can be played

    Could it be I'm not wanted here ?

    Maybe it's considered that as a noob, I can get all the help from someone else ?

    Perhaps I should ask elsewhere ?

    Or maybe because too many people have PW working and cannot reproduce your problem?

    Or that all "questions" that can be, have been asked?

    I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, but a little more detail should be given as to what's actually happening, and what you did before the problem occured.

    For example, where did you download PWI from, what was the version that it installed?
    There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Now, I take it slow, and don't worry about having nothing to do.     Check your memory, that could be your problem, just try downloading it again and tell us exactly what happens the GM's would have an easier time using that.

    Actualy... now that I think about it, it would not be memory since your computer is new, I'm sure that PW runs on some sort of flash type thing, so make sure that java (or what ever PW runs on) is updated. I hope that helps!!!

    Thanks to each and every one of you who have been checking this out

    I know that this problem is not nice ! and is not easy to deal with

    I realise i have probably offended you

    I simply see ( and saw ) no alternative way to get some answers to experiment with

    ( Got some replies too . . . . . )

    Please consider this as my apology

    Everything is as happened in my first post

    Some very black and expensive smoke and burning smells came from my old ASUS

    laptop (4Gb Ram Ati graphics (cant remember what ) AMD with Vista

    I lost everything because (quote)the ASUS motherboard failed (unquote) and burnt it all

    New HP Compaq laptop (under retail warranty ) AMD Turion (dual core) Nvidea

    & W7, 4 Gb RAM

    Got PW download from PWI ( about June 1st don't know exactly)

    version 269 if that helps

    Java has been updated thru Java website

    OK I will download again from PWI and try it all again
