    Not really...
Let's just say you start 25-ish meters away. They have a sprint buff and can reach you in approx 2 secs, shrink buys another 2 secs, force of will 4-5 secs, and they still have 6-ish secs to stun you.

Going in the air will certainly help, although they might QQ about it.

Rofl... Don't bother with BMs that QQ because you fly. Ask them if you should just stand there and do nothing next time to feed their ego. I can understand why you won't use genies in duels altho I would recommend it. But flying is fully legitimate.

So a few questions.. Why would u ever use pitfall or crown on flames in your scenario? Why would you sleep and then sutra right after? Why would you jump towards the BM instead of away?

I'm saying pitfall and stuff as an example of a quick skill and I don't want to say exactly how to do it. Leaving room for different skills and fun, try stuff.

Sleeping them gives you time to move away so you don't use sutra in their face and risk getting stunned. Shrink would be on cooldown in that scenario.

And lastly, jumping towards them or just being close but in the air, will increase the chance of getting stunned in the air high enough to not be hit.

just know how they fight really. This is based on the way many BMs fight. Be steps ahead

What a waste of a sleep.. and I still think jumping away is better.. the more distance between you and the BM the better.

If I'm using sutra I'm aiming to kill, so I won't need it afterwords. I use sleep in the middle of my sutra when a BM gets closed to me to interrupt their stun or whatever they are using.

Gush or glacial snare them, distance shrink away, sutra and when they get close use sleep while still doing your sutra combo. Sleep does not slow down your combo because it is instant.

I finished a few spectral today with pitfall. It's a good skill when gush is on cool down and you don't want their hiero to tick.

ya, thats pretty much the only use for pitfall I can think of.. so other than to finish someone off, it is basically useless imo.

somehow i think same... since bm without cleric buff still get great mdef when u already debuffed with udine if sage bm still could get 8-9k mdef when udine on them +8-9k hp atleast.

    like the example:
    http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2645/20100604180843.jpg
    tt99 inferno+4

on bm(whiteking) without holy sutra is only 6k noncrit with 3rd spark+udine+frenzy+e.posion+ sbids and the barb(sakis) near him got 16k crit who dont was debuffed with udine and e.posion. (y they not really got insane gear but difference visible)

on self buffed sage bm with sage sutra (without celric buff) was 11k crit with same combo, if isnt crit then he can laugh on me :P

    Pics please.
And yes, what Adroit said. You must be dueling crappy bm's. In the quote that you even used, I said "I am talking about the good bm's who can survive more than 2-3 shots." Here's the quote highlighted from the second paragraph in my first post:
Note: I'm obv. not talking about bad bm's.
The bm im talking about uses will of the bodhisatva (antistun) at the start of the duel, knows how to continuously stunlock using drake bash/roar without letting you use any skill except MAYBE distance shrink if they slip on timing by a split second. The bm also has the ranged 79 seal skill and uses it to ensure that roar hits, so I can't shrink away during roar channel. Lastly, the bm can survive a simple sutra, seal, dp, ss and has good enough gear so that I can't just survive a stunlock and sleep, shrink, sutra combo him if I get out.

    Buh-bye now.

And very interesting pics/statistics Shadow o.o

Overlooking the most obvious solution: Hop on your aerogear and fly away for 15 seconds lol.

    damn! lol

Oh well, still works. Most of the time they'll be all "wtf flies in duels?" and then while they're typing, you murder them. :D

Yea, people don't usually like to fly in duels. I think it has to do with the word Duel. It's about a fair fight, kinda. Running in a duel would really make you look bad too. Of course some people don't care, but just trying to explain what a duel may mean to someone.

Strategy in duels is different from just normal pvp. In a duel you just simply wear down the person, no charm is gana tick. Being a wizard lets you do that very easily to BMs or barbs. It's probably the better way, than just trying to do a quick kill. I save the charm by-pass strategies for outside of duels.

But it is just stupid and only an argument a melee class could come up with. Why should I just stand there and let myself be stunlocked if my biggest advantage and only way to survive is range? Be it archer or wizard. Of course I will do everything possible to survive instead of letting myself be killed to feed some bms ego or fullfill his picture of a "fair fight".

duel isnt a simulation of real pk just here dont drop/die nobody? XD

its normal when u jump and fly with a ranged class.
